goldenbird my SIL had iritis shortly after her son was born too (so also pregnancy-triggered). I hope the steroid drops work quickly! kaeguri okay full disclosure nerd alert! I’m a geneticist so I love the ancestry topic. I’ve been quite curious to do my own actually (even though I’m boring 100% British Isles). It doesn’t surprise me much that you got such different results from two companies. Our understanding of the genetic markers differentiating East Asian populations is way behind our understanding of European populations. This is for the simple reason that most large scale population genetics studies have been done in Europe and America so more people of European descent have had their DNA analyzed. This is changing quickly though because scientists recognized the paucity of data from Asian populations.

No call back so I'm starting them. I hope they work quickly! He said within a couple days of use I should see and feel a big difference. 🤞 I'm sure OB office will call while I'm working tomorrow lol.

frecklesnbrains, that's so cool you're a geneticist! And yeah, I knew the sample size for Asians was a lot smaller than European. I think a lot of it is also that most Asians know our history, so don't really have the urge to find out anymore. My mom is insistent she's 100% Korean, and has no desire to find out otherwise lol. It's a pretty homogenized part of the world. WeGene is a Chinese database, so they were able to break my results down into specific subtypes (for instance, the Chinese is Han Chinese). And my dad's side kept records of our lineage that extend back to the 700s AD, and it says we came from northern China, so that lines up. I love genetics.

Does your OB have an answering service? That would tick me off not getting a call back. I think trust your gut on this and I hope you hear from them soon.

Oh dang. Bummer cornflakegirl. I'm in the same boat with you if it makes you feel any better. My 3 hour is on 5/7 and I'm pretty sure I'll be dealing with GD as well. I love the check in idea that tarheelmom mentioned! Oh no, I'm sorry. Did you have it with DS? Yeah, I did. So unfortunately I’m expecting it.

I know some people who didn't have to, some who were just allowed to drink a soda or eat fruit instead of the glucose drink, some places do 50g glucose, others 75g. It varies so much.

They will probably call me this afternoon. I'm ticked since I called almost two hours before close of business, and I told the nurse I was in pain. Honestly I'm going to use them regardless, and I will tell my doctor that when I see her next week. Since it's impacting my daily life this much and it's day 5 now, I can't not treat it, and this is the only treatment. Not too mention higher cortisol levels from being in pain for five days isn't great for the baby either.

Holy hungry today! I'm going to have a cheeseburger and fries for dinner tonight from Five Guys and it's all I can think about. I uh, may have had a cheeseburger and tots for lunch yesterday. But this dinner was preplanned soooo. Shruggy guy.

We started potty training with DS on Saturday and he was originally beyond resistant (think full tantrums about using the toilet) to now staying dry overnight and having maybe one accident a day. I'm in shock! My sciatic nerve has been killing me the last few days and I'm hoping this is not my new normal. And I'm exhausted. And I don't want to work anymore. Anyone want to pay my bills for me? How old is your DS? Mine will be 2.5 next week and I haven’t pushed the issue yet. He is adamant about not wanting to even try, and I don’t have the energy to force him. DD wanted to potty train as soon as she turned 2, but then it was 6 months before she figured it out. I’m wondering if I should just wait until after the baby comes or try to get him trained before then....just have no energy! Your story gives me hope. They do a big shift of classes at preschool in August (after a bunch of kids leave for kindergarten) and he has to be potty trained to move up to the 3yo class. I’m worried he’ll get left behind for another 6m+ even though he’s very ready otherwise. This is largely why we pushed him. DS is going to be 3 in July. They do the same at our preschool and I didn't want him to be held back because I was being lazy. The best thing we did was take away diapers except for naptime and bedtime, but he decided he didn't want to wear them then either. I would have waited longer until he wasn't so resistant if not for the school thing.

How would ladies feel if I created a fitness/healthy eating support thread? I have gone pretty far off the deep-end on both fronts and the scale is showing it. Maybe if there is anyone else struggling on that front we could support each other. I don't want it to be triggering for anybody so thought its own thread might be a good idea?

I'M FREE!!! Well, kind of. He said I can start adding more activity, but to take it slow and continue listening to my body. If the contractions start I need to ease back. Does that mean you're off pelvic rest, too? Tentatively. I am not supposed to overdo any "activity" 😂

I agree about the pain and stress not being great for the baby and I think you're doing the right thing mama.

I'm doing my best to keep healthy this time around. I did well until the end of my last pregnancy.

We are there about every weekend. It got to the point around 3rd tri where H was like no, no more. We went back there for the first time a few weeks ago and DS is almost 2 now.

Taking the toddler to music class this AM and that’s all I have planned today so hoping to do some more work in the nursery. I also want to go shop for some decor but need to work on convincing DH. We are an hour from any good stores so I’d like him to go with me because I’m feeling lazy! 😂
