Foxy Yay for 9 points:) How long is your LP normally? Are you planning to test at any point or wait it out?

Total vent ahead, feel free to ignore. One of my best friends just told me she's pregnant. I had been expecting it, I knew they were going to start TTC at the beginning of the year, and from certain social media posts I kind of deduced that she was knocked up (we live in different states). In anticipation of this news I had been rationalizing it in my head; they just got married and her H is older, I already have a kid so she's sort of "behind" in that regard etc etc. but it still hit like a punch in the gut. She texted which was nice and gave me time to react, she is one of the few people IRL who knows about our IF struggle. Ugh, it's been a crazy busy and trying week and I just don't want to deal with this right now. I'm a little upset at myself for being upset by it. She texted me over an hour ago and my heart is still pounding. IF sucks. I'm so sorry charliefox. It's so so hard being happy for others when you're dealing with the sadness of your own situation.

A reproductive endocrinologist IS a fertility specialist. Sorry your docs are being ridiculous about all this. Yeah, makes me feel I'm just going to have a bunch more early miscarriages. Like next time I see a bfp, I'll just be waiting to lose it. I feel like I won't even be excited to see a bfp because I know it'll be gone in a few days. I'm so sorry. This is where I'm at too. It sucks. Did your insurance tell you need a referral to go to the RE? Mine said if I didn't have it, that I would just need to pay the copay.

Definitely don't be upset with yourself for being upset! I always tell myself it's ok to feel sorry for myself while always being happy for the person who is pregnant. I'm glad she was considerate enough to text you about it though.

Yogurt, that’s some bullshit. Is the referral an insurance requirement? If your GP says you need a “fertility specialist,” can you get that referral and take it to get in with an RE?

Funny you should say that. Yes it's an insurance requirement, but I also have no IF insurance coverage, so I can only work with a Dr who will bill it under habitual miscarriage. But neither of mine were verified in a clinic anyway, so that might be a problem too. There is a guy who comes up when I Google "fertility specialist" and he is nearby so i might try that because i can see he is a RE from his website.

Yogurt I don’t have much in the way of IF coverage either, but the referral was still good to get my office visit expenses down to co-pay only and covered the u/s monitoring. We pay out of pocket for everything else. A fertility specialist will totally get the job done if they’re willing to provide that referral. Maybe the office you found can help too.

My update: 6DPO, no symptoms. Dr has me doing progesterone suppositories this time and I am not a fan. My face is breaking out like it’s high school prom.
I’m going on a work trip this afternoon (flying there) so I have to pack three doses. For those who haven’t seen these, it’s a cylindrical applicator and each dose is sealed in its own package. I am greatly looking forward to explaining to a TSA agent what these mystery packages are.

Ugh shakinros I hated the suppositories. In addition to fun hormoney side effects, I felt like I was always oozing. So not fun. I look forward to hear what TSA has to say about them

I’m out. I had a couple brownish spots yesterday midday at 8DPO that gave me hope for implantation spotting. But full on period-ing just started.
I’ve been entering cycle info in Glow, FF, Kindara, and Ovia for years. This cycle, Glow was off on expected period date by 5 days, FF by 3 days, Kindara by 4 days, and Ovia by 6 days. It is kind of like a fun guessing game? When will one of them get it right with my wonky cycles!?

Looks like I'm in for a longer than normal cycle this month. I ALWAYS get my high reading from my fertility monitor on CD 10. Always. No variation. Today is CD 11 and still low. So it looks like O will be at least 2 days away. I'm hoping this ends up being a good omen.

Eta: I think we are going to try for ED this cycle, instead of EOD. The last couple of months have been EOD and have not worked for us so maybe changing it up will.

We decided on the oposite for the same reasons. But SO is old now so I think he needs the extra recoup time. I might still throw in the extra day when the time comes though...

I'm sorry sharebear. Cd1 is the worst. Do you typically have an 8 day lp? Yeah. Yay PCOS! I have crazy short LPs and I ovulate late (cd 19+) Even progesterone only really extended it a couple days. This and the next cycle are our “hey maybe we can do this without help from the RE” cycles so I’m not sure why I was expecting a normal length LP or a BFP

I had a clear positive OPK this morning! If I ovulate tomorrow our timing so far is -2, -3. I'm hoping we can get one more time in tonight and then I think our timing will be pretty good!

sharebear truth. My vag feels like I’ve had a tampon in slightly wrong for days now. Sorry about your CD1. I can report that TSA did not comment on the suppositories. Huzzah. There was some chaos at the time that may have distracted them - NO BINS. People were upset. I had a slice of buffalo chicken pizza for lunch today and my stomach is not happy. I’ve eaten this particular pizza many times before without incident so does this mean it’s a pregnancy symptom??? No? Just greasy spicy food doing its thing? Oh well. 😜

I should have a positive by morning I think. EWCM showed up late morning and my opk was getting pretty dark. So we'll be pretty close;) Glad your timing is looking so good!

Haha yep. We started EOD on Friday so Friday and today so far. Aiming for Tuesday morning before work since we're trying to stick to EOD all the way through...and then Thursday. Hopefully I'll O on Tuesday (that's my guess anyways...we'll see what temps do though). That should give is -4, -2, O, +2. The +2 will be a just in case.

Oh good I'm glad we're going to be so close during the TWW! Are you still planning on not testing until later? I can already feel myself wanting to test early. I got 20 pregnancy tests with my new OPKs so I'm not sure how long I'm going to be able to hold out 😬

How early can a blood test show a bfp? Anyone know? I just saw this. There are regular urine pregnancy tests that go down to 10, whereas a blood test will show you anything that is 1+. As for how early, it all depends on when the egg implanted. I believe it takes 2-3 days after implantation to show up on a urine pregnancy test so, maybe 1-2 for a blood test? Implantation usually happens between 7-10 dpo (but possibly between 6-12), so the earliest would be like 7dpo?
