I would send the link or screen shot to whoever is in charge of elderly services where you live. I would be very concerned about the overall treatment of the person that needs care. That's a good idea. I suspect it is just a family paying out of pocket and hoping to save some $$ but it made me nervous for the parent and angry they would be so bold to post they were paying under the table. That's what stuck out to me too. It's entirely possible it's a 65 year old looking for help for a 90 year old and being an old themselves and possibly limited budget, it could be 100% a finance issue. But there might be other options they don't know about too.

I have walked my cats, not around the neighborhood though. In backyards mostly. They like to explore the yard and eat grass but there're a lot of cars around and it would be dangerous, OKAY? I bought a special vest called a "walking jacket" for mine. No judgement here. That's what we have, too!

Lol. I’m with you. No one is walking cats around me. No one. Same. We have a few that wander the neighborhood. They are not accompanied though.

I'm always expecting him to show up on Nextdoor or the community Facebook page but so far all I've heard is that there are fewer rodents in our neighborhood now. Oh, and that time he was standing next to some random kid in her first day kindergarten picture her mom posted on FB.

On the OP, I am not a Christian and I would feel excluded and offended if my community chose to show these movies. It's just not appropriate.

But how do you make sure the Mountain Dew drinking Whiskey Tangos next door don't keep their junked out cars or giant flamingos in the front yard? You file a blight complaint at your townhall and they investigate and can fine them. At least that's what happens in my town. I am glad your ready for eventualities Build that home equity

This is against city ordinances- junked out or fully functional. I will take flamingos over the 4'x8" ItWorks! banner on someone's fence. Also not allowed per HOA. I do believe that statement leads to our our new game show...... WHATS YOUR SILLY HOA RULES!What does everyone got? I can't play this because I don't have an HOA but I am sure some of you have something REALLY GOOD. Only thing I had was our old Condo Association said we couldn't have a dog more then 24" tall. LOL

Oh I don't want to add some randon posts without going toward rvasc post. I can understand if they do this kind of movie once because there is something to be said about reaching out to all genres because let be real here, there are ALOT of Rated G movies from ones you know to ones you don't. But if it's more than one time in a row it is probably some religious nut who is trying to impress their will on people. But you said you haven't been to one yet so it might be a one off and they are showing something that is not overly offensive for the kids. Without some pattern of what was shown it is hard to make a correlation. But I do agree with sheilathetank that as not super religious people its a good talking point for kids who are subliminally targeted or if they have questions about what they saw. Either way continuing on that line it you may want to opt out as they may try to indoctrinate you. And if the committee has no push back on this one person that is also something to worry about in my opinion. Either way I am with GhoatMonket. Fuck HOAs. Its my damn property and I will do what I damn please. I exercise this when I put my speakers out side during the summer and summarily enjoy my music until I am required to turn it down by law

I used to walk my cat when he was young and adventuresome.
We have a HOA. It's par for the course where we live; we went and selected the most minimal HOA we could find. They throw a christmas party in December and once a month send someone with a camera driving around to document violations and send out nasty grams. But I don't think we have any crazy rules, not like I've seen some places.

We watch Boz and our cat’s name is Hermione. Boz has really catchy songs that you can never get rid of. Maybe it’s that they wanted to choose something that we rated G? how did you find out about Boz? I've never heard of him and we watch a lot of weird shit. Our realtor had it in her kids’ movie case in her car when she showed my brother and his family houses. It was what my nephews chose to watch because they’d never seen it before. It was a long time ago.

It was fun though because I caught him with his foot in his mouth. All he wanted to do was whine because it makes his drive to church take 5 more minutes. But he threw in a comment about how he'd take his grandkids to watch if it was another time and would love to volunteer. I had fun with that. Some old dude yelled at me/everyone around me for making him late to church during my marathon. Then there were numerous comments on the FB page complaining about how there was “no warning “ and they missed church. The same marathon has done the same route for 35 years on the first Sunday in December. Plus there’s tons of notice via signs and letters to churches. But every year an amazing amount of people are caught off guard

There are road signs up at least a week in advance (so they would be there the Sunday before). I am sure churches near the route mention it so people have notice to allow extra time. And it's been on a Sunday since God knows when.

Obviously, I’m a Christian I find your phrasing interesting here. Why are you “obviously” a Christian? Not trying to start something...I’m just genuinely interested in your word choice.

Because we know rvasc is a Christian. She is very active in (employed by?) her church, and her faith comes up often. So it is obvious to people here. She’s generally the one people ask if they have questions about Christianity.

I think I meant to write that I obviously don’t have a personal problem going because I’m a Christian. I’ll be more careful in the future.
