We moved in just as DD moved to pull ups for sleeping only, so we really have never diapered in this house - it's super weird. Like I don't know where to sun our cloth diapers, or keep anything, or if I'm going to be willing/able to go upstairs to change a diaper (although I'm guessing not). Our old place was all on one story, and about 900 sq ft, so everything was 10 steps away. I would definitely plan to diaper downstairs if that's where you will be most of the time. We rarely go upstairs except for bed. So we have a diaper area downstairs that I'll use with this baby. DS is out of diapers but we still the pjs and teeth brushing in the same area. I'll keep a stash of diaper stuff in my room until this baby is sttn consistently. DNW to go downstairs MOTN. I agree with notmoose. With DS I kept the pack n play downstairs (it had a changing station attached to it) along with extra diapers and wipes. For MOTN I kept diapers and wipes next to the arms reach co sleeper so that I didn't need to go into the nursery to change him. I plan on doing the same thing this time.

I'm looking at some kind of rolling cart for diapers and such also. MH and I have separate bedrooms, and his is right next to the nursery. Mine (master) is off the kitchen, with the living room in between the kitchen and secondary bedrooms. I'm going to have the PNP in my room for sure, because if he's having a night where he's up every hour, I'm not going across the house that often lol. Also MH will get better rest that way. So I need some diapers and such in my room. That said, I'm not officially planning to keep him in my room for a set time period. I'm planning at least weekend nights if possible for him to sleep in his crib. I don't know how well I'll sleep if I can hear him grunting and stuff, I'm the worst/lightest sleeper. DD slept her first night home in our room and that’s it because neither of us could sleep through the baby noises. I can still count on one hand the number of times I’ve shared a room with her and most of them were a hotel room.

We don't have much going on this weekend which I'm grateful for. Plus DS is in a good mood. I had to go pick up the glucose drink for my gtt in a couple of weeks. I'm not looking forward to that appointment. Blood draw and rhogam. Blech. Me neither. I'm doing this next week. Last time I failed the 1hr and had to do the 3hr test. DNW to do that again.

notmoose, my mom instinct insisted DD was a boy. Lol. My mom also thought I was a boy, and she fainted when the dr told her I was girl. They had no girl name picked out because she was so sure. With DD, we kept her in her crib in our room and just slept in there in the spare bed for the first 6 months. Probably going to put the crib in our bedroom for this one for about the same time. DD1 still ends up in our bed a lot, so i'm hesitant to cosleep with the baby because she's a starfish sleeper. Lol I was correct with DD and DS. But I am second guessing myself now. Luckily (or rather unluckily) We don't have a solid girl or boy name. 🤦♀️

DS slept in the arms reach co sleeper in our room for 6 months. I'm not gonna lie, the grunting and baby noises did keep me up a lot, but it was easier to have him there since I was nursing. I was also super paranoid about SIDS and this helped keep my anxiety down about it. The transition into a crib was easy for him. I had him start taking naps in there when he was 2 months old so he was used to sleeping in there.

Baby noises didn't bother me. But I also had a window ac, fan, and sound machine going. Cosleeping was NBD until he started wanting to nurse all night long and moving a lot.

This time, I just have to fast for 2 hours. I almost threw up so many times last time, but I was terrified of redoing it, so i pulled through lol.

I do have an air purifier that makes some noise and a small fan that I turn on, so it wouldn't be silent. But I hope to keep nights in my room to a minimum because he will have to be in his crib every night when I go back to work. I get up at 3:30am and MH would murder me if I woke up the baby getting ready 😂.

They do the whole GTT at my office there, so you make a lab appointment, they hand you the drink, and time starts when you're done. You sit in an exam room next to the lab and go back on the hour mark of finishing it every hour. I only know this because I happened to go for a blood draw right when two women were drinking their drinks. Apparently you share the room to wait in but there's a curtain. I'm not looking forward to it. I don't know if my OB does the one hour at all, it may be just a three hour for everyone.

I reeeeeally want the owlet foot monitor thing. The price is shocking though, and the desire is 100% anxiety based. I also don't know if I would use it consistently and that's a lot of $$ to spend if I'm not going to actually use it.

Mine didn't give me any instructions to fast or avoid certain foods, just that I'll be doing the GTT in 2 weeks. It was the same way with ds. I ate like normal and took the test and passed. With DD I fasted for 8 hours and failed. Thankfully passed the 3 hour but woof, dnw to do that again. Hopefully I'll pass again this time. I never mind the drink, I actually think the red and brown one are good. But I hate sitting there forever. I wonder if they'll let me hang in my car until the blood draw.

MH gets up at 3:30 too and I usually don't notice him leaving anymore.

notmoose that's one reason. I usually go to bed by 7pm and MH goes to bed around midnight. I have struggled with terrible insomnia in the past, like hours to fall asleep. And if something woke up I would be awake for over an hour each time. Sometimes still even after getting up to pee I have trouble falling back asleep. We shared a bed/room for three years and every time he came to bed I would wake up. His body jerks really hard right before he falls asleep too lol. That scared the shit out of me every time. Him even coming in here to brush his teeth in the bathroom would wake me up. Plus he's messy and I am not. When we got a two bedroom apartment we went for it and never looked back. He has his computer in there with him so he works in there too. It works great for us, but it's definitely unorthodox. His dad and stepmom have had separate rooms since they got married because of his dad's snoring and his stepmom being on a schedule like mine. So it's something he is familiar with and wasn't weird for him.

I don't look forward to when our kid notices that us each having a bedroom isn't 'normal'. I imagine him telling his whole school class about it or something lol.

We had the PNP in the family room that held diapers and wipes too. DD slept in the rock and play in our room for a few weeks, but I went to her room to sit in the rocker for feeding so I changed her there. After a few weeks, I started putting her in her crib after the 3:00am feeding. Worked well to transition her that way

I plan to get the Owlet this time around since we don’t have many big purchases and the idea that it monitors heart rate is just fantastic for me. I’ll let you know if I ever see it on sale, if you do the same for me!

I'm considering asking MH to stop working his weekend job at the end of May instead of the end of June. We don't need the money, the last year of him working this job has just been extra since he started his full time WFH job last February. I just thought an extra month of having actual days off would be good for him, and for me.

It's starting to hit me that in four months we're not really going to have time that's just for us very often. He has taken off a weekend here and there, but its always when we have something to go and do. So time spent alone together has been sparse over the last year. An extra month of him not working weekends would be good for us, I think.
Deep thoughts with goldenbird. 😂

goldenbird ahh gotcha. I have insomnia too but I take medicine. MH goes to bed early and I stay up late, but he is such a heavy sleeper I can literally jump on the bed and not bother him. There have been times I quit taking medicine and he woke me often and I wanted to strangle him. But I'm a scaredy cat and can't sleep without him.

notmoose I take melatonin when not pregnant and that helps me a lot. Lol if I had one wish it would be the ability to fall asleep whenever I want and stay asleep. It's not out of the question that one day we would have to share again, if we had a second kid and it was a girl and we didn't want to move. Eventually we would have them in their own rooms. So we could make it work if we had to but it would be tough. Plus then his computer would have to be in the master and he would be working in there. DNW lol.

goldenbird right now H and I sleep in different rooms. He snores and I'm a light sleeper who struggles with insomnia. We have a 3 bedroom house though and we're going to have to go back to sharing a room eventually and I have no idea how it's going to work. I've tried ear plugs but they don't really help with snoring and they mess up my ears pretty badly.

catladymeow that's tough. Our house is also 3 bedrooms but since this is just baby number one we're set for a loooong time lol. Have you looked into custom made ear plugs? SMIL has some that are really fancy and come in a big box. She uses them even though they have separate bedrooms, just to block out any noise at all.

They may not be custom made in the sense that they are tailored to individual ears but I think they're really small and have something special about them.
