I made meatball sandwiches last night. For the bread I bought a loaf of cheesy garlic bread. omgosh it was so delicious. We're having it again tonight because I made so many meatballs. This sounds amazing!! It is so good and super fast/easy. It is messy, but worth it.

I've been waiting for 45 mins at the Dr. 😒
My BP was 141/75. I've had one good initial BP reading this pregnancy. It's usually normal the second time at the end of the appt.

This has been such a long winter. I'm much better with hot weather then cold. DH has some family in Florida and I've been wanting to move there for years.

I hate the summers here in Phoenix. I plan to move out of state someday. I miss rain and a little snow.

I’m 24 weeks but I was looking at pictures from last pregnancy and my bump is about the size it was at 29 weeks.

I got an email that my invoice for the prelude prenatal screen was ready. Lol, just a few days after wondering about it here. They haven't finished working up the genetic carrier screening bill, probably since MH had it drawn also and they bundled it together. $200 for now. And counting 😂.

My doctor got onto me for how much weight I've gained. Which was embarrassing and made me feel like shit about myself. I cried after leaving.
I don't eat that much anymore because I get full so easily. But I'm on bed rest, so I can't completely help it.
It's just frustrating. I think the recommendations for weight gain are outdated or should be more on an individual case by case.

notmoose well I don't mean to call your doc an asshole, but what an asshole! You look great in your picture and I agree, it should be an individual thing. A one size fits all weight gain range is terrible.

It’s so hard. Anecdote, my coworker is a registered dietitian and ate completely healthy and still gained 75 pounds. So I do wonder if those weight gain charts are realistic. According to USDA I get 2600 calories a day, I know I’m not going over that (tracking) and I’m still gaining a ton. Try not to be too hard yourself. Easier said than done when a doctor lectures you.

I think giving our bodies the nutrition they need versus how much weight we actually gain is more important and I wish the focus was more on that.

I’m sorry notmoose, can you tell your doctor that you know his recommendation and prefer not to discuss your weight going forward? I have eaten very differently with each pregnancy and gain roughly the same amount no matter what. Weight gain isn’t a moral failing it is hormones, genetics, circumstance all coming together.

I'm sorry notmoose. My Dr always gives me grief over my weight too. I wish she just wouldn't mention it.

Also I'm still sick and dying. Plus I have a sick toddler at home. I have no idea how we are going to survive today.

Last night I googled how many calories I should be eating during 2nd tri and the first thing to pop up said 2200. I've been eating 1700-2000 (I also track). So, I am slightly under what is suggested and I'm still gaining a lot. I can't say I always eat healthy, but I try to make good choices and I make sure I'm actually hungry when eating and stop when full. It's so frustrating. I'm already really sensitive about my appearance/weight (always have been).

Thanks goldenbird cornflakegirl catladymeowI am the most non-confrontational person ever... So I won't say anything. I sat there and willed myself not to cry the rest of the appointment and didn't say a word. I think if I wasn't on bed rest the weight gain would be less, but maybe it wouldn't? Like others have said every woman/pregnancy is different. I don't understand why doctors don't realize this and let go of the 20-30 lbs reccomendation.

Anyone else try to avoid getting up when baby is kicking/moving a lot? I still am so excited by the movement that when baby starts moving a lot I don't wanna move and make her stop. 😂

notmoose I'm not sure the bed rest is impacting weight gain that much. Maybe several pounds worth total, but not much more than that. My job is very active and I either work out a few times a week or like this week I've got cleaning stuff to do every day. I'm still gaining even though I feel like with my usual intake and activity level, I wouldn't be. So unless you're starving yourself or bingeing, I think our bodies are just going to do what they're going to do with weight gain during pregnancy. That's a perfectly reasonable amount of calories and would be too low IMO if you weren't doing bedrest.

Allergies+dust from cleaning every day have finally caught up with me. My ears and throat hate me right now. 😣 I've done my netipot every day since Sunday too. Just one more day of cleaning that's dusty, I can make it!!

The weight is coming on fast for me now too and it's always something I've struggled with so it's a total mindfuck. I gained 20-25 pounds with my first and I'm already up 15 pounds this time. I'm more active this time and my diet hasn't changed.
We all struggled to get up this morning. It's going to be a long day.

My house is so quiet this morning. My mom came yesterday and picked up DD and my dogs, so I am the only one here. She’s keeping my dogs while we go to the beach this weekend and taking DD to visit my grandmother and great grandmother today and I’ll pick her up from there on my way to the beach tomorrow.
Doctors appointment in about an hour and a half.

I'm wearing a dress today, which may be the most comfortable thing ever, but I also may regret it since there is a high wind warning.

So scratch the 5-8 inches we were getting. Between Fri/Sat it's supposed to be nearly a foot. I just can't.
