...and the nursery, aka my side of the bedroom, lol. Poor third child. lol, yes... my "nursery" prep will involve having DH drag the cosleeper up from the basement sometime in the beginning of july. hopefully we will have moved before we have to resort to 3 kids sharing a bedroom. Oh yes, the cosleeper. DS slept in that thing for 6.5 months. I was just thinking what a long time that is, I might only have sleep with us 5 months top.

tarheelmom love the new bed! DS should be moving to his new room soon, maybe this weekend. The shades and gate for the stairs should be here today or tomorrow. I'm honestly a little scared about the transition. I don't want his sleep messed up or bed time to be a struggle.

Baby will sleep in our room for at least the first 6 months. I have a bassinet for next to my bed and we will move the recliner into our room for MOTN feeds. I think I want a diaper cart thingy this time since we won't have the organizer from the PNP.

One last thing lol.
I had a dream last night that I had the baby and it was a boy. First I named him Kaleb but decided that wasn't the name. Then I changed it to Lowall. My sister was pissed because her son was Lowen and it was too close.

I'm thinking we'll make the toddler bed back in to a crib this weekend, since DD decided that she wanted to sleep in the toddler bed last night - I just don't want to deal with that.
I'm waiting to have the urge to go through clothes, but it hasn't happened yet. For now, they just stack up in my garage as random people pass on hand me downs.
Also considering re-arranging our master to better fit the glider and bassinet, but I don't know if any other layout makes sense.

My dad bought us a crib, which was unexpected, but I'm so grateful so that will be coming in a few days. We have to get the basement done and the bed for guests down there before we can start on the baby's room. We're getting there.
I don't have to go back to PT for a month unless something comes up, which is good. One less thing to try to schedule.

I really should wear makeup every day. When I don't, I get told I look tired.

I need to make a to do list, but am kind of afraid. This is such a crazy time of year.
DD will stay in her room. DD 2 will get what is my craft/wrapping gifts, etc room. We still have a guest room that right now is a dumping spot for when H does a home improvement project. So I need to clean that out before I can move stuff in from what will be the nursery.
We found out that one of the pipes cracked form the pool over the winter. Hoping it us just on the surface and not underground. Our A/C was acting up toward the end of last summer so we need to get that looked at. H has been working 80-90 hours a week. Etc...

MH bought the last big piece we needed for central a.c./furnace! He has to hook up the duct work and then have someone come charge the a.c. but then we'll be good to go!
I'm so excited. We haven't had central A.C. since living here!

I need to start to go through clothes. DD was born in January so I know I have some heavier sleepers and stuff that wont be usable. To people with other summer babies, what did you use most of the time? I am thinking we will need some light weight sleepers if we have the a/c on?

We moved in just as DD moved to pull ups for sleeping only, so we really have never diapered in this house - it's super weird. Like I don't know where to sun our cloth diapers, or keep anything, or if I'm going to be willing/able to go upstairs to change a diaper (although I'm guessing not). Our old place was all on one story, and about 900 sq ft, so everything was 10 steps away.

(we're in the northeast- so it's hot, but not like, crazy hot)

To people with other summer babies, what did you use most of the time? I am thinking we will need some light weight sleepers if we have the a/c on? DD was born in August in Charleston, SC so it was miserable hot. Mostly thin cotton onesies inside with legwarmers every now and then, and just the onesies outside. I used those thin long sleeve cotton night gown type things for easy motn changes, and a muslin blanket to swaddle. The temp inside stayed around 74 during the summer, outside was 100+. Took DD to the county fair today and she's still too short to ride most anything, except these little boats. Even the carousel had a height limit of 42". Really?? Everything else was 36", and she's 35". So we ate cookies instead and looked at the animals. I'm starting to get emotional every time I take her out now, because it's hitting me that these are our last few months just me and her. And then I start freaking out about having another, and I don't feel ready, and i'm worried I'll neglect her and she'll grow up to resent her sister and hate me and omggggggg make it stop. Lol. None of my siblings are close to one another, and I really hope DD and her sister are super close their whole life. I go years without talking to my sister.

DD was born in a heat wave in July and our ac was crappy so she just wore a cloth diaper most of the time! My MIL made some snarky comments about how she was naked in every picture we sent but whatever, it was hot!

kaeguri, 1) it's so much easier the 2nd time around. you'll feel like a seasoned pro compared to what it was like with your first. 2) there will be jealousy initially, but i promise your DD is not going to remember life as only child in about a year. your little one will think the sun rises and sets over her big sis, and your big kid will love her right back even if it sometimes seems like they're locked in a constant power struggle (DS1 often acts like he wants to push DS2 out of the nest, but then at night he sleeps in the same bed with him {HIS CHOICE} holding his hand ).

DS was born April 27 but that was a warm spring that year. I did mostly onesies, socks and a swaddle. I think some sort of soft pant too. ETA: klw that is what he slept in. During the day he mostly lived in short sleeve onesies and rompers.

It will be in the 90s and 100s when baby is born, and won't get cold until probably December. I got some cotton footed sleepers and onesies so far. That should be good for a few months lol.

So 4 days into our remodel (and living in a studio apartment with a toddler and a crazy cat) our basset hound starts puking blood at the dog boarding facility. $600 later and the vet have no clue why he’s puking. Oh and the contractor found major structral issues in our attic. Oh and we have plans to go to Maui in 2 weeks (we’ve been planning on this trip for 6 months). Magically, I’m not stressed at all. Just frustrated that our rescue has yet again cost us so much money for mysterious symptoms that will most likely resolve themselves...after we pay a hefty fee to run all the tests.

To people with other summer babies, what did you use most of the time? I am thinking we will need some light weight sleepers if we have the a/c on? DD was an August baby and DS was May. My house was always cold because I hate the heat and keep my A.C. on all.the.time. So, both kids wore long sleeves and footie outfits. They also wore the cute summer outfits and I'd just cover them up if I felt they were cold. At night I did the sleep sack pajamas or I'd put them in footie outfits and swaddle them. Eta: I keep my house at 68 in the summer. We only had A.C. units but we had a huge one in the living room that was fancy and shut on/off depending on temp. We also did not go outside a lot when it was hot. As I said, I HATE being hot.

We rarely go upstairs except for bed. So we have a diaper area downstairs that I'll use with this baby. DS is out of diapers but we still the pjs and teeth brushing in the same area. I'll keep a stash of diaper stuff in my room until this baby is sttn consistently. DNW to go downstairs MOTN.

I stupidly went through all his clothes a few weeks after my miscarriage and pulled things for my sister, washed anything that had stains I missed, and organized by size. So, all I'll need to do is wash stuff and hang/put away. So, I'm really trying to wait or else I'll want to wash again later lol.

We don't have much going on this weekend which I'm grateful for. Plus DS is in a good mood.
I had to go pick up the glucose drink for my gtt in a couple of weeks. I'm not looking forward to that appointment. Blood draw and rhogam. Blech.

We will probably keep it around 76 in here over the summer, and I'm sure he will be wrapped in a light blanket a lot, so I hope he will be warm enough in just a onesie.

I'm looking at some kind of rolling cart for diapers and such also. MH and I have separate bedrooms, and his is right next to the nursery. Mine (master) is off the kitchen, with the living room in between the kitchen and secondary bedrooms. I'm going to have the PNP in my room for sure, because if he's having a night where he's up every hour, I'm not going across the house that often lol. Also MH will get better rest that way. So I need some diapers and such in my room. That said, I'm not officially planning to keep him in my room for a set time period. I'm planning at least weekend nights if possible for him to sleep in his crib. I don't know how well I'll sleep if I can hear him grunting and stuff, I'm the worst/lightest sleeper.

notmoose, my mom instinct insisted DD was a boy. Lol. My mom also thought I was a boy, and she fainted when the dr told her I was girl. They had no girl name picked out because she was so sure. With DD, we kept her in her crib in our room and just slept in there in the spare bed for the first 6 months. Probably going to put the crib in our bedroom for this one for about the same time. DD1 still ends up in our bed a lot, so i'm hesitant to cosleep with the baby because she's a starfish sleeper.
