I like the feeling of morning workouts, but I can only maintain it one to two days a week. Not more often than that.

I wish I could be a morning workout person. I would need to wake up at like 4:00am to make it work though and fuck no to getting out of bed that early. It's super difficult. It took me about 2 weeks to be able to get up without any issue. I mostly liked it because of the quiet time and it helped me ease into the day. Plus once I started seeing results that much quicker, it was another motivator.
But a big LOL to me getting out of bed at 5:30AM these days to work out. No thank you please.

I can only do morning workouts. It’s like my brain is off so I just power through. My ideal would be 9 or 10 am, but, real life means 5 am.

It’s official. Walter is coming back. I’m sad, but just kind of happy it’s over because the up and down was a bit much. It sounds like it was all v dramatic with this couple. I missed this. What happened?

What happened? I guess him and the resident dog have had a couple snippy interactions and so the boyfriend is over it and doesn’t want to do training or give it time. She wants to wait it out but since he doesn’t, they are returning the dog. It’s been 1.5 weeks.

Still very begrudgingly, but if I wait until after I get DS down, it's not happening. I just want to fall into bed then.

Thanks to you guys I’ve been reading about macros for breastfeeding. I’m trying to figure out if that can help me be successful without gaining the 30lbs I did last time. I spiraled on this during last week's discussion. I couldn't find anything consistent in terms of TDEE, though, so I'm just kind of guessing on some things. But it's gotta be better than how I was eating before.

And with that being said, it is 2 PM and I'm starving. Must eat lunch.

Also just discovered that the university rec center does a free body composition assessment for faculty and staff. Gonna schedule that now.

Oh well, Walter is probably better off coming back to you in the long run.

I LOVE my morning workouts, which is weird to me because I never thought I could be a morning workout person. It is such a great way to start my day. I used to go to the gym and take the kids with me to child care there, and I thought that was bomb, but getting out of the house without anybody to hassle me is priceless.
And I used to be a solo exerciser, too, and now I am so hooked on classes, I don’t know that I could do it any other way. I feel like instructors push me harder than I would push myself, and I feel like my form is better when someone is keeping a close eye on how my muscles try to wimp out.

I learned some lessons in the process and it’s never 100% guaranteed to work, but man, this stuff is hard. We’ll get him his perfect home one day.

HilarityEnsued, do you feel like talking about the changes you’ve seen? If not, no pressure. I’m curious and I have been wanting to check in and see how you’re doing but don’t want to creep you out.

It's amazing that people rescue animals and are disappointed when there are challenges.

It's amazing that people rescue animals and are disappointed when there are challenges. Yeah, and I think for my learning is that people have vastly different definitions of things with dogs. I was comforted because their existing dog was a rescue and was described as shy and skittish. But I think when I said those words, it meant something else on the scale than what she was experienced with. I tried to be really clear on the challenges (which in my opinion were not that bad, but I didn’t sugar coat) but I think in the excitement of it all she glossed over some things. Next time I will slow down a bit and probably do two meetings.

H has a schedule change with work and I think I’ll be able to go to a class or two midweek now. I’m excited for that. I think I do well with my at home workouts, but I like to supplement with in class to get form checks and new exercise ideas. Also, the music is better.

I bought some bougie feta cheese over the weekend and there’s something to be said for being able to use less when it’s a high-quality ingredient.
My wallet is pissed.

HilarityEnsued , do you feel like talking about the changes you’ve seen? If not, no pressure. I’m curious and I have been wanting to check in and see how you’re doing but don’t want to creep you out. I've lost 5.5" off my waist, which is obviously the biggest change. Everything else has gone down, but in a more reasonable manner. After my kids, I carried basically a ton of weight in my stomach. It was the part of my body I hated the most and basically dictated what I wore all the time. I've noticed a lot more tone in my upper arms but I didn't measure them so I don't know what that change actually is. I am all stomach and I hate it and I am the same way with that dictating my shirt options. it was a big motivator for me to try this gut reset thing I am doing. It is for water weight and bloating and people talk about how it helped their stomach.

Yeah that shit stopped once I got pregnant (both times). The thought of subjecting my boobs to physical activity, or a sports bra, sounds like pure torture right now.

I would rather work out excessively than change my eating.
But since I just had a mini tantrum getting dressed because everything looks awful and doesn’t fit, I suppose I should do something about the eating thing. SIGH.

My good news for today is I booked an awesome vacation rental for our annual family trip in August. I’ve been trying to do this for years, but it always fall through and we end up back at H’s families time share, which I hate with a passion and is not dog friendly. So now we have a gorgeous house and can bring our dog and I’m so happy.
