DH and Lugnut were both sick all weekend. Lugnut had a fever yesterday and still has a nasty cough today, so no daycare for her. I'm on a flexible rotation, so I'm staying home with her.
How's y'all's Monday looking?

Home with DS today. He spike a decent fever last night. I was able to get DD to daycare, so it’s just going to be me and him today. I don’t remember what it’s like to only parent one child. This is weird.

Is it Friday yet? I went back to a five-day work week a few months ago after two years of working only four days and I love my shorter work days, but I still miss my three-day weekends.
MH showed DS a picture of a local fire truck earlier. DS spelled out the name of our town on the front, MH explained that it's where we live, and then DS said "We live in a fire truck!" That would be the kid's dream come true.

Running under the cherry blossoms was pretty awesome. So glad I got to experience full bloom. Was anyone out there running with me and we didn't know it?

I just ate a cookie for breakfast. 😬
I need to go find R new soccer socks. The ones we got are huge and uncomfortable for her. So I'm going to check Walmart. Other than that I've got nothing but laundry and housework to catch up on. It's still February here for the next two days and I'm so beyond over it. By Friday it's going to be near 80* though.

DS1 had a "typical" two-year old day yesterday - SO MUCH WHINING. But he is usually so good that it threw me off and I skipped out of daycare this morning.
DS2 is still having issues. I can't tell if his new Prilosec Rx is helping with his GERD. But I do think it's giving him a very minor looking rash. If I can even call it that. It's not red, but they're little bumps. I can't think of anything else we've changed that would cause them.

DS has cooking class this morning and then we have to go grocery shopping. Sleep was crappy last night but I’m feeling okay. I’ll crash later I’m sure.

I'm excited I'm only working three full days this week. I have a comp day to take M's birthday off Thursday, and he has a well check and shots Friday morning. My favorite local coffee shop raised their prices over the weekend. I walked in with exact change and instead was 29 cents short.

Morning everyone. I’m off to another busy day, I feel like I haven’t sat down in four days. I did get some birthday moolah yesterday so part of my busy day will spending that. I’m gonna make it rain in Ulta later.

Saw an amazing pair of over the knee boots while at brunch on Sunday. Asked my one girlfriend to go ask the woman where she got them. jaztastic gives a laugh during the conversation so I was hopeful that it was a place like Nordstrom Rack so I could get the boots at a reasonable price. NEWP. She got the boots five years ago from Chanel. The woman was still at her table when we got up to leave. Jaz and I walked past her table and I popped over to ask her the size of the boots and she said 12. My size! I asked if she wanted to trade me her Chanel boots for my Lucky booties. Not exactly an even trade. I'll dream about those boots for a good bit.

chickenonsunday -- Tagging you because you shared a similar issue with one of your kids. I called for an EI evaluation for DS2's eating issues and there is an EIGHT WEEK wait just to get him evaluated. I made the appointment but I'm hoping we'll be past this by that time. In the mean time, he had his first OT appointment on Friday and it honestly made me feel dumb. But then yesterday he actually ate a few bites of a Mum Mum cookie without gagging and I almost cried tears of joy. So I guess we're doing this with a co-pay at least until his GI appointment 4 weeks from now.

There is snow on the ground so I guess it’s good that I left the snow pants in the backpacks.
Nursing the baby while ds2 whines for breakfast.

Did you ask EI to contact you if there was a cancellation and you can be seen sooner? Sometimes it happens. When is the GI appointment? How many OT sessions does your insurance allow? I think we have a limit of 25 per type of therapy. Why did the OT session make you feel dumb?

Also yes the weather is crazy here too. I am not trying to get my hopes up since it is 29 degrees right now, but we are supposed to hit 74 Friday with rain of course, but still.

I think we have a limit of 25 per type of therapy. Why did the OT session make you feel dumb? GI appt is the second week in May. CHOP is the absolute best but that comes at a cost of long waits for non-emergent appointments Insurance only allows 12 sessions. They wanted to see us twice a week but it doesn't work for our schedules (mine and theirs) so we're going to average more like one per week and I'm going to be pretty aggressive at home with what they're telling me to do. It made me feel dumb because I'm paying a very qualified professional to teach me how to feed my kid. Like, how to make his tongue move better. It's completely a mental block that I just need to get over. And with his GERD issues, even the therapist was like "think about what food is to him - it hurts him. of course he's not super interested in it." So, that does make sense. And off we go to feed my kid in front of a stranger ever week.

gimmeaQ, Don't feel dumb about the OT sessions. They are looking at things in a totally different perspective from you or me. Attempt to take the things you learn from the therapists and use it at home. Also know that your son might do better for someone else than you. I cried so much during meal times while trying to get our daughter to eat the smallest bit of food. I felt like a failure and that it was my fault that I didn't know how to get my kid to eat. Don't be me. It isn't us. It is them. The more stressful we make it can totally sabotage a feeding session. I wish you all the luck and keep me informed.
