leatherpants I did my GBS swab myself both times. My midwife said she always offers self swabbing to clients but that some women have a hard time reaching.

Hugs polson. I’m glad they were able to tell you ahead of time so you know what to expect, and that you get skin to skin right away. Hopefully you can be discharged together. |

I just really still feel awful. I just feel so uncomfortable and can’t seem to get relief. Remind me - what’s going on? Are they contractions or just pressure? |

This morning I’m sure I was having contractions. Went in and everything stopped, left and started feeling that crampy tightness again, but not like before. Now it’s just like my whole lower abdomen is sore. Like my back, whole stomach feel like sore muscles. TMI I just finally was able to go and had some diarrhea and feel better a little. I wonder if I have a stomach bug that’s being a dick or something. I’m so frustrated because I was totally and completely fine while I’m L&D. Not a single contraction. It would have been nice to have some sort of confirmation on what what’s happening. I’m probably just coming down with a terrible case of the shits 😂 |

Loose bowels. And it’s not fun. Bc It legit HURTS. I am scared tho that you were having enough cramping or ctx. Can you take some Tylenol and half a glass of wine? Your ute may just be irritable and that’ll Help. |

So my Grandpa has been feeling sick lately and they finally did tests on him this morning and he has massive congestive heart failure and it's only functioning at 15%. So they will be putting in a pacemaker and defibrillator probably today. My grandma has advanced Alzheimer's and he is her primary caretaker so of course he's just worried about who will take care of her. Any good thoughts for his surgery are appreciated. Oh this is awful. Poor guy, both because he's got a lot going on plus being worried about his wife. I hope everything goes well for them. |

leatherpants I did the swab myself last time. It's coming up next week for this pregnancy and I think I'll get to do it myself again- I should have asked for sure at my last appointment.

My blood pressure was still elevated when I left the hospital So I got put on BP meds with instructions to take it daily and call the office if it was above a certain number.
Well it has been borderline for the last 3 days readings. But I have also been having pain which I know effects BP so I have been trying to gauge it against that. But after today's high reading I called the office. The nurse got back with me and apparently the midwife suggested I go to the ER to be evaluated. Like what? Seriously? My commenting I had pain worried her... Um, I had a c section on Thursday. And my back is sore because I have been carrying this baby around. Lol. Of course I missed the phone call in the 10 minute time span I left the phone by itself to go to the bathroom. So I couldn't even question the sanity of this.
I ended up calling the physician on call. He told me to take my BP med early and to come into the office tomorrow. Which thank goodness. Because going to the ER is expensive and I felt like way over the top for this situation. I was barely above the threshold they gave me and am on meds. Assuming they will up my dose tomorrow. Yay me

I'm sorry you're still having trouble with your bp nuggetrn but I'm glad you're able to avoid an er visit. I want to eat, but I feel too full for dinner. Like if I eat anything, I'll probably throw it up. Ugh. |

ArielMermaid im sorry you’re still feeling like garbage...i hope you can get some good sleep tonight nuggetrn hopefully your bp starts cooperating soon and you are feeling better too i dunno about anyone else, but i would really just like a glass of wine right now. eta: cornpop that’s about where i’m at with dinner too...maybe ice cream would go down easy?

Sorry for not checking in earlier. I'm at home "resting." My kids aren't very cooperative, but DH is home and doing mostly everything. The cramping continues along with irregular contractions and pelvic pressure. My OB is on call tonight and will be calling to check on me and is having the triage nurse call me tomorrow too. She said my uterus is irritated, but she's not sure why. So for now, she wants to keep close contact with me, but if anything changes to call the after hours line. It's been snowing here all week and the temps have been below zero. My hospital is 60+ miles away and she doesn't want me to travel back and forth any more than I have too.
So, that's my update. Nothing new to report. Just laying low and hoping things settle down. This little guy needs to stay put for a bit longer!

nuggetrn I am sorry that you are still dealing with blood pressure issues. I have been monitored for mine this whole pregnancy so I know how frustrating it is. polson I am sorry you were given that news today. I hope the medical team can figure everything out quickly so your little girl can go home with you. DS had an unexpected 3 day NICU stay after he was born. I know how hard it is to be separated from your baby. ArielMermaid I am sorry you are still uncomfortable. I hope whatever it is can get sorted out quickly and I hope you can get some rest tonight.

polson I'm sorry that your birth experience isn't going to look the way you've been hoping and dreaming of. Your feelings are completely valid, and it's totally normal to grieve what you were hoping for. I'm glad to hear that they aren't worried about baby's health, and I very much hope that her stay is short and you get to leave the hospital with her. We're here for you to vent, cry, and celebrate with. ❤️

HI! Baby clementine has arrived at 38+5 weighing 8 lb 3 oz and 20 in long! Just wanted to post a quick update and I’ll work on the full birth story for you guys. We’re both doing great and baby is sleeping sweetly in my arms which is the most amazing thing. I cannot believe he’s here! You’ll notice I am still calling him baby bc he has no name yet 🤦🏼♀️ MH and I need to get it together and decide. We’ve at least got it narrowed down to 2.
