Oh gosh. I'm having some super weird pains down low. It came on acutely but now seems tied to baby movement - perhaps babe dropped? But anyway, while cooking dinner with two tots running underfoot, I realized I'm 36 weeks without a hospital bag, clear childcare plan for #s 1+2, finished nursery, car seat ready to go, bills paid through the end of the month at least, or hospital paperwork filled out. What is WRONG WITH ME. So I'm finishing hospital paperwork. Health Care Proxy, etc. EDIT: tomorrow I'll do all those other things. Oh, same. Well I don't need child care, but ya I need to get on some things. I decided to give myself till 37 weeks though because of not really being able to get some of it done this week.

I'm on your bench with having nothing done, ovenrack, but 34 weeks tomorrow. I actually completely forgot about hospital pre-registration...pulled out that form and it says to please mail by 15 weeks 😂 Oh, STM syndrome. I was giving myself till 36 weeks but I did start to panic and quickly wrote up a "care and keeping of DS" sheet for if I do go into labor before my mom is in town and a friend has to watch him. But this baby is going to come right on the schedule I have in mind, right? Right?

ArielMermaid they’re not even really doing fundal measurements here anymore because they arent accurate. Can you ask for a growth scan if youre worried?

ovenrack that happened to me today in the supermarket car park. I was so scared that I was going into labour but I think just from doing too much today at work. I’m still freaking out but resting seems to have stopped it. Everything is harder and more painful this time around- I felt great at 40 weeks with DS1 but this time I’m only 35 weeks and feel like a baby is going to fall out of me any second with all the cramping and aches. My OB said it’s probably a combo of chasing a toddler, “looser” abdominal muscles and weaker pelvic floor but damn!

I don’t have a great memory, but I know my previous two pregnancies, when people talked about “taking it easy,” I was like... PSSSSSHAW. You’re pregnant, not dying! I shoveled the driveway the day #2 was born. This time around, I’m like, ohhhhhhh. I guess for some people you take it easy so you don’t feel like you are actually dying. I get it now. At least I can admit my ignorance.

As far as rest goes, I really don’t get how I’m going to get more rest. Three little people have needs!

If for some reason she continues to measure small I probably will. I’m trying to be cool since my doctor isn’t worried and I know it’s just my friend’s experience coloring my own.

Inmeasured right on time or a week or so behind. DD was over 9lbs. I do not trust fundal height. This baby is the same and I’m annoyed that’s what’s used to legitimize a growth scan.

I am another one with almost nothing done/prepared. We should be able to get DS moved to his new room this weekend and can then prep the nursery. I am hoping to get all the NB and 3mo clothes out of storage to go through it and see what we can use for the new baby. I also want to get out the rock and play and things like that to get the covers washed and ready to go.
So much to do, but I'm so freaking tired all of the time! I have zero energy after work, so it all needs to happen on the weekend for the most part. MH is, thankfully, very helpful and is doing a ton with the painting and putting together of the rooms, but I am a bit of a control freak and want to be the one to do the sorting and organizing. Maybe I'll get a burst of nesting energy this weekend? Here's hoping.

babybean, dizzycooks, how does the infant seat affect the convertible seat? We haven't installed the infant seat so I'm just not understanding the logistics. I also can't put any car seat in the middle seat of my car so maybe that's why it's not clicking for me.

I forget if I've asked this before (pregnancy brain is seriously an issue this time around), but are you all asking the people that will be in close contact with the baby immediately to get a flu shot?
My parents got one and my FIL did, but my MIL is a baby about shots and won't unless we force her to. I'm just debating if it's worth the aggravation or not. They'll come to the hospital after the baby's born and I'm sure will be visiting a bunch so it's not like her exposure to the baby will be small.

Not babybean or dizzycooks but I assume that the driver needs more room and a rear facing seat will not fit behind them. Luckily I think we are avoiding this because we can install in the middle seat, but if we couldn’t, there’s no way my H could drive with a rear facing seat behind him.

I have to put the bucket in the middle so my SS can still get in and out and they’re too wide side by side when rear facing. DS is in a diono Rainer so it has very low sides but the top is big and the bucket is a britax b agile. People fit multiple car seats in their sedans so I’m annoyed I can’t make it work in my SUV.

I had a Pinterest Kung Pow Chicken recipe for the crockpot all picked out and ready to go this morning when I realized that it only needs to cook on low for 4 hours🤦🏼♀️ So now I’m currently scrounging for a new stovetop recipe that I can make once I get home. Bring on ML when I won’t have to worry about this crap💁🏼♀️

I think hand washing/staying away when sick/not kissing the baby is far more effective. The flu *shot doesn’t prevent you from getting the flu or carrying the germs around so I don’t think it’s worth the fight.

I would insist on it if she is going to be around the baby a lot. Our hospital won't let you visit if you haven't gotten a flu shot. My FIL and his wife are messed up anti-vaxxers and I've gone through the same "is it worth it" conversation in my head. With them, we see them so infrequently that I haven't really pushed it. But when DS was born, my parents and MIL all made sure to not only get their flu shots but also TDAP boosters to protect the baby.

I am gently encouraging it and giving a straight guilt trip about not harming your grandchildren. But I’m not going to burn it down if they don’t. My MIL is the god damn worst about sickness anyway so I can’t trust anything that comes out of her mouth.

clementine, sorry about the cookies I am glad they were able to be frozen. My H got some amazing looking cinnamon bread at Christmas time and it has been in the freezer since then. I can't wait to eat it after the baby gets here. When I had the stomach flu last week H kept bringing me home food (donuts, ice cream). Between the GD and feeling miserable I wanted nothing like that. I would have preferred that he brought me home a Sprite. Add me to the list of people who have accomplished nothing with regards to preparing for baby. I got out the box of newborn and 0-3 months clothes, but I still need to wash it all. We don't even have a dresser to put it in at this point. I also need to wash the receiving blankets and bottles, make sure the car seat isn't expired, buy some diapers and other baby necessities, and pack my hospital bag. I am 36 weeks tomorrow, but will be delivering closer to 39 weeks. I was planning on doing a couple things this weekend, but H said that he wanted to visit my parent's who live an hour away to celebrate his birthday.

I need to clean out my car so I can move DD's car seat. Right now I have her behind the passenger, so I need to move her behind the driver seat. The rear facing car seat I have won't fit behind the driver seat. I guess I will add this to my to do list. Some days I really don't know how I managed to get this all done before DD was born without you ladies reminding me what still needs to be done.

I told H we can't have more babies because I get dumber every time. I tried to hand A a frozen waffle last night without toasting it first and spent a good 45 seconds trying to figure out why it was so cold before I *facepalm* duh, it's FROZEN and needs TOASTED.

My fancy, hipster baby has decided that La Croix is the only thing that won't make me feel super nauseous to drink. I don't even like sparkling water!

I also have nothing done. Everything is stacked in the office in a huge messy pile and I'm too tired to deal with it. That's why I'm getting out of work early, though, right? And I'll definitely have all the time I need and baby won't come early or anything, yeah??

Remind me when I get home to post a picture of the nursery. I promise it will make you guys feel better.
My bff is 2 weeks ahead of me and I lent her my carseat to see if it fits in her car. So now I don't even have that. I feel like I'm going backwards in preparation.

cornpop, I might have to try that. Right now the only thing that I am able to drink without heartburn is a fountain coke. Even plain water is giving me horrible heartburn. Seriously...wtf? There’s absolutely nothing in water! And I don’t really even like coke.

I just discovered that when using safestop the harness straps are too long for DS. I’m glad I found out now so Diono can send me shorter ones. It’d have been a pain finding out after baby arrived.
