I dropped Em off at preschool today and she didn't yell or cry. She wasn't exactly thrilled but I'm still calling it a victory.
This baby is such a little troll. Saturday she barely moved and I was so nervous. Then the past two days she's been going crazy. This morning it's like painful. Silly baby.

I have to go bridesmaids dress shopping Saturday for a wedding I’m in, in August. I’m assuming the good people of David’s Bridal will know what the fuck to do with me? Bride doesn’t have a dress style in mind yet. I hope it isn’t too form fitting. 😬

cornpop, that little gnome is precious I'm having trouble getting going this Monday morning! I just want to hang out at home and watch Olympics all week. My mom and dad are coming next weekend for a visit, which I'm half looking forward to. My mom and I are going to recover an old Poang Ikea chair for the nursery together, which I'm excited about, and she will be a big help getting the nursery organized (its all set up but none of the clothes/burp rags/etc are washed and everything is just stashed in drawers). Plus DS is going skiing with my dad and that will be a really special thing that they are both looking forward to. But its always kind of tiring when they come for a long weekend and by the time they leave, I always feel like I need another weekend just for me, DH and DS. Lol. Also I'm still not sure where everyone will sleep.

ArielMermaid, don't count on David's Bridal being very helpful. The last couple of times I've had to go for weddings, I've been seriously unimpressed. The quality of those dresses is such garbage and its not even like they're inexpensive. That said, by August you should be fine. Order a size up from your pre-pregnancy size, whatever you get, and you can always have it taken in if you need to. Spanx is your friend.

I'm so ready to be done with the carpal tunnel in both hands. Only 51 days until my RCS. Hopefully it will subside shortly after.
Can't believe it's Monday already. Where did the weekend go? I just realized that Valentines Day is Wednesday and I still need to get DH a card and maybe some chocolate.
Hope this is a good week for everyone and those who are sick are on the mend.

I wonder if it’s gone seriously downhill since then.

I wonder if it’s gone seriously downhill since then. Oh I definitely think it has. My bridesmaid dresses when I got married (9 years ago but still) were comparable to what you might find in a department store like Lord and Taylor or Macys--thicker material, reasonably flattering on everyone, and no more than $125. Not bad. We went shopping for my brother's wedding and everything was flimsy material, poorly sewn with uneven seams and bunched zippers, and nothing flattered anyone (and we had a range of body types...surely something could have fit someone). Most dresses were around the $200 mark....anything that was priced lower was mysteriously unavailable for the date we needed it or in the color we wanted.

calendula oh boy. Maybe she will change her mind when she sees the dresses. I’m going to look a mess. All the other girls are quite skinny and could wear a sack and look good.

calendula that’s exactly how I feel after our parents visit. My dad doesn’t know how to relax so it’s house project after house project when he comes down. Which is super helpful, but then I don’t feel relaxed or ready for the week. Both of our parents are coming down this weekend - MH’s Friday through Sunday and mine Sunday through Monday. I have a work training all day Monday so that won’t be too bad, but I’m bummed I won’t be able to see my parents more. ETA - posted too soon. Hope you get lots done this weekend! I’ve been wanting to reupholster an old chair we have so I’m anxious to see how yours turns out!

ArielMermaid I have to order a bridesmaid dres this month too but the bride wants us to do it from an online shop. My saving grace is that she’s allowing us to pick our own styles (hallelujah for straps!). I’m planning to order mostly based on my bust measurement now because my boobs will only get bigger with breastfeeding. It’s easy to alter length!

We had DD's iep meeting this morning for her speech. It went really well. I was able to ask the kindergarten teacher some questions I had about her starting school next year, so I'm feeling a little less anxious about that. Plus, her speech teacher said she has made all the goals that we had set for her last year. We're dropping her down to one day a week instead of two. She also said with the progress she's made, she almost feels that we could discontinue speech. The main reason she wants to continue at least for one more year is just to make sure she doesn't regress a little, since there's about to be so many life changes.

Weren't you in the hospital this weekend? I would just take it easy for today if you can. Anything you need to do today can just as easily be done tomorrow. Posted too soon....also meant to add that I'm sorry you didn't sleep well last night.

I think I am just thoroughly convinced at this point that this baby is going to be here sooner rather than later and I am like I took early maternity leave to get things done and nothing is going to get done!!! My mom is busy today but I think I am going to try to recruit her a couple of days this week to help me wrap some stuff up.

Hopefully on that note you can steer her towards something that will work better for you. Do you think she will be reasonable considering the difference in body shapes and the fact that you'll have had a baby not too long before the wedding?

It's also really great that they are willing and able to be proactive and continue her therapy knowing that there are about to be some changes at home! Hopefully that will combat any regression that may have happened otherwise.

That's awesome about your DD, auri! We're in a similar boat with DS (albeit he's younger) where we're in the midst of evaluations and transitioning to the school district, and his speech and ABA therapists both think he may not qualify for services anymore. But they're going to push to keep him, even if for a reduced weekly time, because they feel like they can help with the baby transition. I'm glad that both your therapists and mine are so proactive!

Also, good morning. We dropped DH's car at the mechanic this morning for awful brake noises, and I'm just praying it's only the brake pads and not the whole mix of shocks and actual brakes, which our mechanic said may be coming up soon. I really don't want to drop hundreds and hundreds on car stuff right now.
I'm late to the stretch mark convo but I was looking this morning, and honestly I have so many from my first pregnancy and weight yoyo-ing, I have no idea which ones are new. The worst part is that while they're white now, if they go like last time, they'll turn red and purple for months after I deliver.

My dog was going to get spayed this morning and I was so anxious about it. She has never been anesthetized before and we couldn't do the surgery earlier because she's had other health issues. But the vet just called and said it went well and she's recovering fine. I cried.

I have been able to eat food again today. I ate a small bowl of soup for lunch today and was stuffed after eating it. I guess that is what happens when you don't eat food for 3 days.
