Just got home from work. H is at the doc with DS and I'm making soup and ignoring the adult things I need to do

I’m solo parenting all week and forgot to arrange a ride for DS1’s karate this week. So as of today I’ll be dropping him off at 7, getting the little kids ready for bed/cleaning up, and then picking him up at 8. Usually when DH is Home one of us does karate and the other bedtime. Hopefully the later bedtimes this week don’t both them too much.
I could still probably get him a ride but I feel like I ask other people to drive him a lot and I’m starting to feel bad about it. Blah

I’m doing swim lessons instead of hockey this week.
Sitting by the pool watching kids swim laps. So peaceful. And warm!

I am going stir crazy, my LO is still sick so I stayed home with him. We are on day 3 of being trapped in the house. I am over it.

I would like bedtime now. Hers or mine, I'm not picky. The only way my kid has been sleeping lately is if I'm holding her hand so I've been sleeping on her floor, one hand through the crib slats holding her hand or patting her back. This needs to stop.

Reese’s teacher is here for home bound so mostly I am herding the puppy from bothering them to much.

Today was the longest day ever, but I'm finally home. Spaghetti on tap for dinner, which is usually a house favorite so fingers crossed it paves the way for an easy evening.

Getting an almost 4 yr old to not whine and leave H alone because he's got a bad headache is proving difficult. Bedtime can't come soon enough.
He went to the dr today and they gave him Naproxen and he's lying in the dark. So far he said the meds aren't helping. 😕

When I get the bad ones, it’s a popsicle, excedrin migraine, a Diet Coke, and one of those masks you can put in the freezer.

I’m really starting to hate 1st grade. My oldest struggled and her teacher was constantly complaining about Lilly’s lack of focus. Now my youngest is in 1st grade and her teacher (different person) is doing exactly the same thing. His last message to me said he has a quite a few behavioral issues in the classroom and it makes it difficult to monitor Carolyn to make sure she’s on task and focused on her work. On top of that he tells me she constantly moves around disrupting the class and doesn’t seem to care about the consequences for having to clip down on her behavior chart which is pretty much daily at this point. We started the evaluation process for ADHD shortly after the school year began and I’m not sure what he expects me to do, the process takes time and we finally have an appointment in a couple weeks for her intake with the psychologist to get an official diagnosis.
So, that’s what I’ve been dealing with these last few months. How is everyone?

My kid (8.5 months) has been so moody and grumpy lately I really hope he is going through a leap or something. Just half hour until bedtime.

I just found out that my mom’s best friend dedicated her new book to my mom. She’s going to be in town in the spring and is going to meet up for lunch and to give us some signed copies. My heart is very full.

It went very badly. Several hours of crying interrupted only by me going in to change sheets when she puked. ETA: not just one night. It was a week or ten days with no improvement before I called it a day on CIO

Good lord, @humptydance. That teacher needs some PD on how to accommodate students with attention needs in the classroom. At that age especially, nothing you can do at home is going to fix it at school. The teacher needs to start putting routines in place to help your kid out when and where the issues arise (if you need suggestions to bring up - like body/mental breaks, breaking work down into chunks, providing an inflatable cushion to sit on to engage muscles while working, etc.)

The potential of having this literally in the backyard offsets the huge power lines, right?

I watched my new nephews today after work and we watched Wonder- so many tears I haven't seen the movie bc I know I'll cry. I read it to my class every year (except this year bc sixth grade claimed it and heaven forbid a child should read a book twice. I'm salty about it) and end up crying at the same parts every time.

@humptydance would the teacher be open to letting her have a bouncy band on her chair?

We ordered takeout because h is behind on the dishes to an alarming degree and we were supposed to go to his mother’s birthday dinner but H is too sick.
