Has anyone done a sex reveal (for yourselves) in a cutesy way? Sorry if this was discussed before; there are a couple weeks of randoms that I just missed. We have our anatomy scan on Thursday and this is what I'm thinking we'll do: Ask them at the appointment to not tell us and write it down. Go to a clothing store, H will pick out a newborn boy outfit, I'll pick out a newborn girl one. We will ask the store clerk to look at the sex and just ring us up for the appropriate outfit and wrap it up. We will then go out for dinner that night and open it up. Sound fun? We just found out in the room with DD so I wanted to do something a little different and liked the idea of finding out with just our little family. we do something just for the older boys. We put blue frosting inside a cupcake for them. They like desserts. This time they took a bite and said "yup boy" and kept eating lol😂 I make a lot of boys. For everyone else I just send a text. I'm not big on huge gender revels. I think your idea to wrap a little outfit is so cute!

My SIL really wanted to do a sex reveal for our family (my parents, brothers, sisters etc.), but she's going to be away at a bachelorette the weekend after the U/S, so... we will just get them to put it in an envelope and open it that night. I certainly don't want to wait for the NEXT weekend. I'm actually getting nervous about finding out now, not just excited anymore. One week and two days!

Thoughts on my first Makena shot: It stings more than a regular shot going it. It is not as thick as Rhogam (I couldn't feel it being injected), but she did it very slowly. It stung the whole time. No immediate pain after. About 3 hours after, I started to feel dull cramping from the injection site (upper butt) to my knee. Did a few stretches, currently laying on a heating pad. The nurse said the pain may be worse tomorrow. 19 more to go. Hooray. roloma, FYI.

At my appointment, I also had more blood work drawn for the last step of genetic testing, the nurse found the heartbeat on the Doppler right away (which is so weird for me because I felt like they were always digging for it with DS), and I scheduled my anatomy scan.
It won't be until I'm 21 weeks because I'll be out of town the week before when my OB usually likes to schedule them. Sighhhhhhhhh, we might as well wait until delivery to find out the sex. But not really.

just found out I am going to get screwed out of using my STD insurance on maternity leave. My company (a healthcare company that provides neonatal and perinatal services) does not offer paid leave; so I enrolled in STD and saved 4 wks PTO time... turns out that STD MUST start the day you deliver and only lasts 6 weeks. My company makes you use all your PTO before STD can kick in. I also have 4 wks salary continuance. SO, after my 4 wks pto and 4wks salary continuance, I wont be eligible for STD because the 6 weeks will have already passed. So much for taking 12 weeks off. I feel like i got screwed. I only enrolled in STD because we knew we were going to have another baby this year! Grrrrrrrrr

That really sucks birdsofafeather. Is there any way you can use some of your PTO before you deliver so you can take advantage of the STD? Or would you then have to take unpaid leave?

birdsofafeather, damn loopholes, eh? What a pain. Sorry for uncomfortable day 1 of 20 AnnPerkins Can you remind me what the shots are for? I'm not sure if I'm feeling baby moving like crazy or if it's something else. Trying to drink a hazelnut hot chocolate to... calm it down? Haha. 7-11 has free small coffee/hot chocolate all week It doesn't take much to excite me, what can I say.

We have our US Friday (!!), but my friends are throwing a sex reveal party for my kids on Monday. DH and I will find out at the US and try to be patient all weekend even though we're going to my parents' house. I'm excited to take cute pictures of DD and DS finding out- we didn't do a sex reveal for either of them.

Boo for discomfort and pain, AnnPerkins. I know the shots are for a good cause, but it's lame that you're sore. birdsofafeather, in your position, I would just take a few weeks off before the baby is born to use the PTO.

blabbermouth, they are once a week progesterone shots that will hopefully reduce my odds of going into preterm labor like I did with my other two. I'm 16 weeks now and get them until 36 weeks. That is more pregnant than I've ever been, so fingers crossed I can least make it that long. Ideally, one more week to have a "going into labor on Halloween" story for the ages.

I'm hoping for a Halloween baby lmao. It's only a week before my due date but chances are slim. DS was born at 37w5d. Halloween is my favorite holiday.

That slates me at about 2.5 weeks early, which is super fine with me. Went early last time and would be delighted to do so again. So bad at pregnanting.

2 out of 3 boys were born on their exact due date. So I'm guessing this will be a Thanksgiving day baby. Although I think 11/11 would be an awesome birthday.
Halloween would be so fun but that would be way too early for me.

DS definitely needed some more time in utero (we had latch issues, he couldn't stay awake to eat, etc) so I'm hoping to keep #2 in for longer. But I had preterm labor a bunch of times so we were happy to make it that far.

I'm also kind of hoping for a Halloween baby. It's only 5 days before my EDD, and my ob mentioned that I might be induced since I'm on blood thinners.

I would be 37w3d on Halloween, but that would still be great for me.

I realize that kind of sucks, but then at least you would get to use your benefit. And have time to rest before baby.

Twice today I confiscated penis drawings from my 10 year old students. And one drawing of a phallic ice cream cone called "Mr. Dick".
I can't, guys. I don't think I'm going to make it 16 more days. The more I think about it, the more I dread going to work every day.

I have already predicted to my family that this LO is probably going to be a Halloween baby. It pleases me that your LO is also following my plan (and our plan to birth these babies on the same day).

If this kid is born at the same gestation as DD, it will be a Halloween baby.
