Oh no, @criscosalad! I hope the puking means it's almost over. Thanks! I think he is on the mend. His fever is down and he was asking for food which I'm taking as a good sign. Yay! With my big kid, puking is like a system reset.

I just mowed my yard and my next door neighbor's. I thought it was bad that I couldn't get my mower to start on Thursday, but her's blew up! Now I can cross off my good deed for the day.

I was just googling around for my bakery to see if there were any new reviews or whatnot and I came across a listing of bakeries in 1922 Illinois. Apparently there was a [my bakery] owned by a guy with a last name comically similar to my maiden name in a town with the same name as the town DH was born in. That's... weird.

I am home. We had a hellish 4 ish hour drive that is only supposed to be around 3 hours. Fuck you, holiday traffic and idiot drivers. It would have been longer had I not found an alternate county road route. And DS tantrumed for like, a solid 30-45 mins at least because he wanted out. Sorry dude, we are 3 hours from home and Daddy had to work tonight.

Guys, I filled nine (9!!) paper yard bags yesterday. Grass, tree trimmings, azalea bushes that I removed with an axe (like a BA), shrub trimmings, rogue hostas... All by.My.Self. because hubs has bad grass allergies and couldn't go outside at all yesterday.

A miracle just happened here. I put J up in his room for quiet time, and when it's over, before he is allowed to come downstairs, I help him put his toys away in his room. Usually it's him helping me for 5 seconds then he goes and sits on his bed to "watch you clean up my toys!!!", and I stop putting stuff away until he comes and helps, endless cycle, usually takes 30 minutes for us to get stuff put away because of all the delays. WELL. He was up there and started whining a bit so I looked at the monitor, and my face did this . because I realized that he was putting away his legos in the bucket and I panned around the room and saw that the foam letters that were all over his floor were neatly stacked in the corner and he had put the other few toys that were up there in their "spots" and then my face changed to this The room looked just as clean and neat as when I clean it. So he called down that he was ready to come downstairs, and I went up and opened his gate and he picked up the small stack of books that he had put by his door and carried them to the book crate in our room, and then he went all the way down the stairs and picked up the elephant car that he had thrown down there and carried it been back up to his room and put it away. While I did this Guys. This made my month. I can't even believe it.

I totally just bought Mommy and Me leggings for me and Nugget and I can't bring myself to be ashamed. We'll probably look ridiculous or adorable (they're black with red, white and blue stars). Having a coworker who sells LLR is dangerous. I'm usually good at abstaining, but I couldn't resist.

Every year come employee evaluation time I look at the question "list specific accomplishments for the last year" and want to just answer "Well I'm still showing up and we haven't gone bankrupt yet."

Conversation with my husband last night:
him: there's a really good article in this magazine. You should read it. I left it in the bathroom for you.
Me: it's cute you think I have time to read in the bathroom
Him: I figured you could read it to our son while he's pooping.

Ugh. I have a store that has had SO MANY shipping problems. About 1/3 of my shipments to them arrive with broken product. I just don't understand why this keeps happening with this one account. I thought that it might be some really bad delivery person or something, but I just looked at the shipping history with them and of the last 4 damages 2 were FedEx and 2 were USPS. Ugh. They type of damage actually points to a problem on my end of things, but then why do I only have this problem with them?

We had some crazy thunderstorms last night. Right at kid bedtime. I ended up on the couch with a husband, a kid, 5 stuffed animals, 3 blankies, and a 110lb dog while it stormed. It was crowded and uncomfortable and I loved every minute of it.

A local pizza catering company is renting my kitchen today as their kitchen is being built. They're doing something with bacon right now and it smells sooooo good.

I really hate cleaning up other peoples' messes at work. I took on some of the duties our HR generalist who got fired a few weeks ago and am discovering a bunch of mistakes that are going to be a pain to fix. Clearly she was fired for a reason. Can't wait till they hire someone new and I can go back to doing just my job.
