My kid was a mess this morning for no apparent reason. Flopping, sobbing, hitting and everything. My dad (who lives with us and is not my favourite person to begin with) obviously saw that he was having a hard morning but still steered him away from him when he went to him for help getting his sweater off. Cue more crying. I wanted to effing punch him. My dad, obviously.
Just now I let the dogs out and they mauled a baby squirrel that must have fallen from the tree. They didn't kill it and dropped it and came to me as soon as I realized what was happening. Told my dad what happened and he accused them of being vicious murderers that would kill "anything" if they had the chance. I know that's the furthest from the truth but it made me really sad because they are pit bulls and we work really hard to make people see them as the sweet dogs that they are.
Sorry for the shitty novel.

So we finally are working on painting over the hideous baby-poo taupe on our living room walls with a nice, very light aqua blue color: Oh, and one wall of our massive living room and the walls of the den (minus a wall of wood paneling) are stuccoed, like someone put plaster all over the wall and made it all gross looking. Oh, 1970's renovations.... It's horrifying to me that someone, many years ago, decided it was a good idea to stucco the walls and lovingly paint them baby-poo taupe. Like literally the entire house minus the bedrooms is taupe. The plaster (which is crappily-done, no less) is like a bad episode of Trading Spaces. And a PITA to paint because of the texture. Should have half the room done (it's a really wide room) with two coats tonight and hopefully we can get the second half of the room started tonight and finished tomorrow so we can put everything back before the party. I hate being on a time crunch, but I am soooo happy to brighten this room up and not have to stare at baby-poo taupe anymore (at least in this room, still have the hallway to paint and eventually the den. And Nugget's bedroom. Sooooo much paint!)

snowmoon I'm sorry your dad said those things about your dogs. Just about any dog would have prey drive kick in with a baby rodent creature in their yard. Also, I love pitties so much. Pics please!

Pics please! +1. I have an adorable, super sweet mutt that looks like a beagle corgi mix, but his prey drive gets triggered like no other. And he's really well trained (although turning deaf) but I don't even know for sure that he'd actually drop an animal on my command after getting triggered like that. So your animals are incredible in that sense. I was surprised they listened. I think they were also surprised they caught it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We had a jack Russell when I was growing up and he would regularly catch mice and moles. He'd swallow them whole before you could make him drop it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A super fit, large chested, skinny waisted model started following me on Instagram. I assumed that it was just a scam thing until she just posted her collection of my hot sauces. Some of them are only available in Vermont, so I'm finding myself pouring over her pictures to see if I recognize her.

I'm watching the CBC news and they had a little segment on the first identical quintuplets known to have survived. They were born in 1934 in Ontario and were promptly removed from the family and turned into a tourist attraction by the Ontario government. A very weird and sad story: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dionne_quintuplets
