J woke up around 2 this morning and then up for the day at 6. By 7 he was a nightmare so he's been up in his room for over an hour and I'm trying to get him to fall asleep (I usually avoid naps for him at all costs) and he won't.go.to.sleep. He's exhausted. Wtf kid please shut your eyes.

Willy, if there is actually no reason for them to be in your backyard, I would hope you'd ask them why they scaled your fence.

I'm working alone and I am hungry and tired and feeling lazy. I'm thinning peaches and it is the most boring thing ever.

I just made a loaf of banana bread-- I'll send it by carrier pigeon.

Ugh. I have a store that has had SO MANY shipping problems. About 1/3 of my shipments to them arrive with broken product. I just don't understand why this keeps happening with this one account. I thought that it might be some really bad delivery person or something, but I just looked at the shipping history with them and of the last 4 damages 2 were FedEx and 2 were USPS. Ugh. They type of damage actually points to a problem on my end of things, but then why do I only have this problem with them? I'm going to guess that the person who works for them and accepts the deliveries is probably handling them roughly. Then a different person opens the package and is like "why is all this broken?" Can you ask that they open the boxes and inspect them before they sign for the delivery?

Can you ask that they open the boxes and inspect them before they sign for the delivery? This is my thought too. Is there an odd delivery area? Like they need to go up stairs instead of a ramp. Who is handling the packages? Aren't they inspecting them when they are delivered? I would assume the amount of damage they are reporting is visible at delivery. The one time I had a bottle broken, I saw the visual damage right away and was amazed that still only one bottle was damaged. It takes a good amount of freight carrier abuse to break those bottles. If it continues, I'd almost drop them as a customer and state they aren't profitable for you to continue to sell to them with the damages reported. As a last resort, I would require them send you pictures of the damaged goods and how they arrived. They should be inspecting deliveries when they are received. You can even ask them to do this so that you can work on fixing the issue. 1/3 of your product being damaged is excessive.

Can you ask that they open the boxes and inspect them before they sign for the delivery? They said that they don't have this problem with any other bakeries. The weird thing is that the boxes show very little damage. They've sent me pictures of the damage and it's basically all on the inside. The one before last had raspberry almond cookies with split bags and an oil stain on the inside/outside corner of the box (from the free wheeling cookie crumbs), but no other signs of distress. The split bags with minimal cookie damage is something that can happen when a bag drops and the cookies are still frozen (how I store them here), which is why it seems like a problem happening on my end. I should keep track of who is packing the boxes each time (sometimes it's me, sometimes it's my baker). Maybe she's dropping the cookie case into the shipping box??? But she's not really the "dropping" type.

I started to feed my children corn dogs for lunch, but when I opened the box there were only two left and when I smelled them I had to have them for myself. So I am eating the corn dogs and my children are eating random lunch meat instead.

I'm hiding in the kitchen, eating chocolate chip cookies. There's just not enough of me to go around today and I need a quick break before going back in there. Magically, all 3 girls stopped crying and started to nicely play once I wasn't an option.

Apparently swinging on the swing set makes the pedometer think I'm walking.

Planning summer trips is really stressful/challenging with a blended family like ours. I'm having to think about the moving parts of three different families, making sure schedules line up, factoring in where we'll have to pick the kids up and when we need to get them back for things like camps and events with their other families. Plus accommodations for a family of two adults and four children ranging from 3 to 13 is really hard. Usually I lie about the number of kids we have and they just sleep on the floor in sleeping bags. Or fight over who gets the extra bed, or pull-out couch or whatever.
It. Is. Exhausting.
BUT. I was able to book us a canvas tent cabin in Yosemite for one night on our way to H's family reunion, and I'm kind of excited about it. It will be the two youngest kids' first time in Yosemite Valley, and I've personally never stayed in a tent cabin (my family was always the camp-in-the-wilderness type). Yosemite is one of those places that books up a year in advance, so I'm pleased that trawling the reservation site for cancellations has worked in my favor.

CurlieWhirlie, we have an Intex brand air mattress that I love. It has a built-in pump so you can just plug it in to blow it up. It also has a valve to use a battery operated air pump if you're camping. It was only $30 on amazon. I thought I'd mention it to you because we bring it to hotels and camping for E and he loves it.

I vacationed every summer of my childhood at a family camp outside of Yosemite in a canvas tent cabin. Sadly, the camp burned down in the Rim Fire, but it was a magical place.

E decided to wake up from her nap after 45 minutes. She normally naps for 3 hours. Not cool, child. I sent her back to try again.

Every Thursday night I have delusions that MH will be home for dinner and I plan something. He never ever is home. J and I almost always have kraft mac and cheese. Same, except the kids and I eat ravioli. Thanks for reminding my why I don't need to be worrying about dinner right now.

The Bump just sent me an email full of potty training tips for M (I used their app to track her in utero). She's 11 weeks old. I think we're a ways away from potty training.

Someone posted basically new Lovelace and Patch 4.0s on the local swap, and I'm super excited to get them! They were 2 prints I always coveted but didn't buy because I didn't NEED them. We live on opposite sides of the city, so I'm meeting her downtown on my lunch to get them. Cue driving/parking downtown anxiety.

Why does my husband refuse to properly hang things to dry? I washed diapers yesterday and asked him to dry them, which means throwing the inserts in the dryer and anything with PUL gets hung on a drying rack. I appreciate that he knows what to separate out, but he literally smushes every cover/AIO together on the top level of the rack and I end up having to spread everything out because otherwise the AIOs will never dry. I've showed him how to do it to no avail...

Why when you feel awful about yourself do you want to eat bad things thus later making yourself feel worse?

Why when you feel awful about yourself do you want to eat bad things thus later making yourself feel worse? It's called a negative feedback cycle. Like erythropoiesis.

you guys I am THAT person at work today. I mean that person who calls and leaves a VM and then sends an email 1 minute later being all "IN CASE YOU DIDN'T HEAR YOUR PHONE RING!" and repeat.

Don't beat yourself up. I just sent an irritated chat message to a coworker who did not show up to a meeting this morning, only to then read my email and see she had earlier sent an apologetic email asking to reschedule because she was stuck in another meeting. Le sigh.

My 25 year-old coworker is definitely confirming all of the stereotypes about selfish, entitled millenials for me today.
