New week, new attitude. Dog: recovering Child: not sick (touch wood) Baby: kicking nicely. What more can I ask for right? How is everyone? Any exciting appointments happening this week? Update on nursery decorating?

I'm considering doing a glitter wall in the nursery. Im not sure how much I will regret that decision but H was on board.

Nothing exciting this week. I'm still just struggling with my congestion. Had an asthma attack a little bit ago and seriously considered calling an ambulance for some oxygen. First attack in over a year.
I'm still in the planning stages for the nursery area. I have a pretty good idea of how I want it to look, but I need to start at it.
Also, I may not have the crib here before baby gets here. My parents are driving it up and are only planning on being here on the 1st or 2nd of July, so if baby comes early...

adeline glad things are going better for everyone in your house! And yay for baby kicks. Mine stopped kicking me in the cervix tonight after 3 straight days, but I got my first intense case of heartburn tonight, so apparently we’re on to that now. I hope if it keeps up that the old wives tale rings true for this one also and he has a full head of hair like V did.

No nursery for us, but I do want to pull out V’s newborn and 0-3 month clothes next weekend and start going through them. Maybe that will help me to stop buying all of the cute little boy clothes I see when I can’t conveniently forget that we have bucketfuls in the basement😬.

Hi! 2:30am post brought to you by back pain waking me up. Ugh. First time I’ve had it physically wake me up in pain.
Nursery for baby girl will be black and white (stripes and + signs, some polka dots) with gold accents.
Went through DS 0-6 (some 6-12) month clothes today to pull out any unisex and things I wanted to keep. I’m putting myself on a no spend February because I’ve bought entirely too much baby girl stuff recently. Although i do get to go to a huge consignment sale this month to stock up on baby clothes and spring/summer clothes for DS but other than that, no extra spending.

Glad the dog's doing better, adeline! I've been wanting to pull out DS's old clothes for so long. I'm trying to hold off until I re-do my closet first so I can store them better. No nursery, but I have made a list of things I really want to buy like a Tula. Glucose test this week. I know there was talk about this in one of the other randoms, but did anyone fast for 8 hours before or less? Mine appointment is unfortunately right after I get off work, so going without food at work for 8 hours is freaking me out a little bit.

numbears my glucose test is Thursday. For mine I was told to fast for 2 hours then drink the glucose drink and fast for one hour until blood draw. So basically 3 hours of no food or drink other than the glucose drink. My test is at 10am so I plan on having a good protein filled breakfast with lots of water and then fasting.

leo91 I haven't seen a glitter wall before, it sounds cool. Sparkles are always fun. I had to double check my appointment notes because I have my 24 week today and didn't get glucose instructions. I guess my office does it at 28 weeks. I get another ultrasound because they couldn't see the face and all the heart they needed. I'm excited, I always like seeing the little guy! Otherwise, we have had ongoing colds and bugs (no flu, thankfully) this whole month and a little before the holidays. I think we might be to a healthy place real soon. This sick season has been so intense for so many people. Not a fan, I'm desperate to get out more but now I don't want to in case we get sick again.

I have a follow up A/S tomorrow to check the baby's fluid cyst on her brain and to get measurements that we couldn't see last time. Friday is my 24 week app. They'll likely schedule my glucose test then.
I believe we're going to start the nursery/big boy room process next weekend. We have to tear apart our guest room which will become O's big boy room. With stress from other things going on, we've decided not to paint the big boy room. H hates painting and I just don't want to dedicate the time to it. Our plan is to move in the next year or two anyhow then O can pick his bedroom color. Baby girl's nursery will be purple, gray, and white Harry Potter themed. I've started picking prints to get from Etsy for her room and Mickey stuff for O's room. I realized over the weekend that I'm technically 6 months pregnant sooo I should probably get a move on. I also need to go through more of O's baby clothes.

DD was under the weather this weekend, but only had a fever Sat so I think it's just a cold. She's mildly congested but pranced off to preschool just fine
My a/s is Thur and I can't wait. DS is acting like he doesn't want to go because he's have to miss the last 30 min of school, but he's 13 and excited about nothing.
Our new mattress is supposed to be delivered tomorrow too, so yay for that

Oy.
My H's cousin passed away over the weekend. Very suddenly and unexpectedly. She leaves behind two kids that are the same ages as my older two. We have her funeral service about two hours away on Friday. I just made all the arrangements for child care and H is talking to his boss now about needing Friday off instead of Wednesday.
I have an OB appointment on Wednesday. We're running back to Ikea for a third & (hopefully) final time tomorrow night. We're buying two Hemnes dressers for our closet, but they were sold out yesterday, but they're getting a shipment in tomorrow morning and I can order online to pick up in store. Plus we're getting #2 a new dresser (the Tarva chest) so that we can give the baby her current dresser since the changing pad thing is already attached. We'll just need to paint it, but we're also painting our nightstands, so it'll be fine.

Sitting in the waiting room for my 20 week appt. The MFM visit took place of my A/S with this OB so uneventful appointment today.
I’m clueless on nursery theme or color. We close on our house mid February so I’ll have to pick colors pretty quickly; we’re doing all the paint before we move in (likely late March or early April).
DS’s nursery was beach themed, so that’s out.

We won't really do a theme for the nursery, and it's already painted a pretty great kid room color, so that's all done.
I need to go through DD's clothes and pick out the gender neutral things and work on getting it all organized to give away. I bought my first little boy clothes this weekend 😁
ETA: we picked out DD's bed this weekend, going to buy it next weekend and get her in her big girl bed ASAP so that she can get used to the crib being in the nursery and it not being hers.

The baby is kicking so much and I love it. I’m finding myself desperately hungry more often than not. It’s that or I’m uncomfortably full. I have got to find a happy medium.
We (MH) painted the nursery this weekend!

Jealous of all of the nursery talk! DS and DD will be sharing a room for the next two years so we aren't really doing anything special other than taking down her super girly decorations (purple curtains and girly paintings) and finding something more gender neutral. Eventually he will have his own room so I need to tell myself I can have fun with decorations then.

Had my A/S today and everything went great. Couldn't get good pictures of the end of his spine at first but he ended up moving right at the end and she was able to see what she needed. I'm glad I didn't have to schedule another U/S because I would just worry the whole time.

lemons I'm in the desperately hungry or uncomfortable full boat too. I hate it. I cannot find a happy medium. It's the worst.

Everything, water included, gives me heartburn. Only 12.5 more weeks of my throat being on fire.

I've mentioned before (I think) that baby's area will be under our loft bed, so I don't have a HUGE amount of space to work with. This is the bed when we finally finished it in September. We've since changed it so that the long part is against the other window and it fits in perfectly. I'm thinking that the crib is going to go against the part that's not by the stairs, and I might put a couple of boards up so that I can run an extension cord behind it for my light when I get around to doing my nightstand. If I do that, then I'm probably going to paint it a light pink or blue and then I'm going to get some panda stickers to go on it www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01G24C4NI?colid=YV297TZLHX5W&coliid=IEQGJYG61UZPI&ref=br_ADD_TO_CART_title_linkI'm also planning on getting a panda curtain to go in the window (I'll have to put a darker curtain behind it) www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0761PMMR6?colid=YV297TZLHX5W&coliid=IKX3MT0HF402O&ref=br_ADD_TO_CART_title_linkI don't think I'll put much else down there besides a rug, a lamp, and if I can get it in there, a chair. Otherwise the chair is going just outside. I might also put a curtain up on the side that has the stairs, just to make it a little more cozy and separate.

we got the crib assembled this weekend and last weekend H and my FIL finished the shiplap wall. The glider is in and I also ordered a bunch of art for the walls. We went to Ikea yesterday to get her dresser ($50 off) but they were out of stock so we will need to head back sometime this week (grrr. it's 45 minutes in no traffic, 90 minutes with traffic).

thanks tinyjoys - I didn't realize buy online/pickup in store was an option! i'll go investigate that. Neither did I! The worker told us when we asked about when the dresser is coming back into stock. He said order first thing Tuesday morning. But, we're only about 10 minutes from Ikea.
