tarheelmom, no i didn't the first time around. My next appt is Feb 1, so I'll at least mention the symptoms. Yeah I remember my eyes getting worse after my last pregnancy. And my teeth, good lord my teeth.

FFWC: I got lasik the same month I got pregnant. I was seeing 20/15 until morning sickness started and now I’m seeing 20/30. The doc says it should go back to 20/20 or better once I’m done nursing. Sigh. But I knew if I didn’t have it done I would never have it done. The timing was just right with finances and insurance.

Re: outing yourself before being ready, I'm a little nervous. My grandfather's memorial service is on Saturday. I'm riding to Houston with my parents tomorrow, staying in a hotel room with my sisters that night, then riding back with my sisters the next afternoon. I'm going to be a sobbing mess at the service but that's not suspicious.
I'm nervous about how bloated I am and how many snacks I'm bringing. I tried on my dress and there's a gape at the front on the belly so that helps. I'm bringing a ton of snacks for the car and such though. And hoping I only need to ask for a pit stop once each way. It's a threeish hour drive. I need to make sure I wear a loose shirt. I absolutely do not want anyone to have any suspicions for another two weeks.

I had my first tri bloodwork this morning and I forgot how many vials of blood they need! It was like 10 or so. So I needed to stop afterwards and get a second breakfast of a bagel. Mmmm

imapenguin, bananas22, ohreally, thank you guys so much for understanding. IF is totally a mind fuck. Long story short Ive had 7 rounds of IVF between fresh and frozen cycles, a total of 94 eggs... and only 1 baby to show for it (plus the one that's baking). So yea Ive been through a LOT to say it mildly. DS was born in Feb'15 and it wasn't until December of 2014 that I was actually okay mentally with accepting this was really happening. This cycle has gone quite smoothly that its making me very nervous, I feel like I'm waiting for the bomb to drop any moment.

Has your family made comments to you in the past about possibly being pregnant? I've found as a married woman of childbearing age that there's always someone wondering if I could maybe possibly be pregnant. Sometimes they are right, sometimes they aren't. And those are just the people daring enough to ask about my family planning!
And IF they do suspect it or your secret is somehow revealed this weekend, it would be a bright spot in an otherwise sorrowful weekend. Babies make everyone happy!

Up until this week (8w5d today) I've be rather unattached from this pregnancy. I'm slowly allowing myself to plan for and think about what life will be like in August and beyond with a new baby. I am simultaneously excited and scared. Excited for what can (will!) be but scared that it'll all be taken away from me. I do hope that after your successful pregnancy that you'll mentally accept that everything is ok sooner this time.

Now I'm thirsty. Like, drank 150+ oz yesterday and was still dying of thirst. Plus blurry vision, although that could be from my headaches. One of the other mom's mentioned GD, so I'm going to have to mention it at my next appt. Meanwhile, this might be the kick in the rear I need to go low carb, like I wanted to anyways. Did you have GD with your first? If it’s truly gestational then the placenta won’t start interfering until closer to 3rd trimester. I’ve had GD both pregnancies and expect to again this time. Happy to answer any questions. They tested me early last time (and will again this time, around 16w) but I passed until I hit 28w. If you’re prediabetic (more common in those of us who get GD), you can start having sugar issues much earlier in pregnancy than you do with gestational. My numbers were fine at 9w, so hoping I pass at least short term! Vision problems are really common in pregnancy for many reasons, I was due to get new glasses and now have to wait until after baby to get an accurate Rx (boo!).My eye doctor said he vary rarely sees a significant change due to pregnancy, but I anecdotally hear about it all the time. I got a new rx and glasses in December, but I just got cheap ones from Zennis (I don't wear glasses full time) so if they don't work long term, I guess I'm OK.

Mmmm I was shocked too, when she laid them all out. Thankfully, I went at lunch time so was able to drive through CFA for lunch including frosted lemonade on my way back to the office.

I had mine this yesterday. My poor vein stopped giving blood after the 8th vial. Seriously this happened, and we ended up switching arms. The nurse and I were making all sorts of jokes about it.

Mmmm My first tri blood work will be done at the same time as a 2 hour glucose tolerance test. So I will be fasting, nauseated from pregnancy, weak from the blood draw, and sick from the Glucola. This will be my third and last time doing it!
I'll either stop for fast food or a pastry at the local coffee shop afterwards depending on how I feel.

My a/s is in 1 week and I am so sick of waiting. I am anxious to start planning and getting rid of things we won't need and to be able to stock up on what we do. The Babies R Us is closing here and they're going to start marking stuff down next week too

I have had a lot of headaches and Tylenol isn't helping. A friend recommended magnesium, but a side effect is diarrhea so I haven't tried it yet

ohreally no they haven't. I know it's silly to be worried about it. The focus isn't going to be on me so I doubt anyone will notice anything. I just have a specific plan for telling them, and I wanted them to be totally happy. I feel it would be like a mixed feeling to find out right at this time.

mrsweasley, if you get magnesium in powdered form (natural calm), you can start with a low dose and work your way up. at lower doses it just has a stool softening effect. for natural calm i'd start at 1/2 tsp and up it by 1/2 tsp each day if necessary (recommended dose is 2 tsp). diarrhea would mean you're taking too high a dose.

Has anyone tried Natural Calm? I could use better sleep and as a pp said, magnesium is supposed to help headaches/migraines.

PennyCandy, i can't attest to natural calm's effectiveness as a headache preventer, and i dunno that it really improves my sleep (it's supposed to help relax your muscles-- i find the topical magnesium spray works better for muscle cramps, etc.), but it definitely works for constipation!

He commented on it so I know they saw it. And I couldn't tell if it was him or my mom because my mom uses his account to check things out. Haha But I called and they are so excited so it's all good.

I know I said I was going to wait until next week, but I pulled my doppler out today anyway. I found the baby's heartbeat! 😁😁😁 It took a while of messing with it and hearing my own HB and then I heard it and it was so distinctly different and faster than mine. That was exactly what I needed right now. I'll probably use it once a week or so.

I started taking it again yesterday for headaches and haven't noticed a difference. The article said magnesium oxide was the type used in migraine relief, and Natural Calm is magnesium citrate, which is absorbed more efficiently. Don't know if the type makes a difference as far as headaches though. I have mag oxide supplements too, might try those next.

I just want to know if I should start going through DD's old clothes to sell or not.
