Anyone else dealing with headaches? Been chugging water like I'm a fish, and tylenol doesn't touch it. Not a migraine, but it's pretty close. Yes, every day. Honestly I haven't tried anything to get them to go away except drink more water. I read 2nd tri brings on the headaches, so I figured there's not much I can do. try peppermint tea- sounds ridic but it usually works for me.

I am so grumpy lately, particularly with my husband. He is a great guy but like the sight of him is making me angry. I really need to adjust my attitude but I can't figure out how. I'm getting a blowdry at 1pm instead of eating lunch today (well let's not be crazy, I'll eat lunch too). Maybe this will help. I am super grumpy lately too. I try to just get away from my family for a bit (take a shower, do some laundry, something) so I don't take it out on them. Some days I institute a "no talking to mom" time for a bit. They don't listen very well, but 🤷♀️

My OB's office called and left a message to call. It should be my carrier screening results since I checked my Counsyl account and it says under review. I debated calling them now on my lunch but I think I should wait. If I'm a carrier for something and MH needs to be tested I'll need to be more focused than I am right now. But with that timeline, my NIPT results should be ready by the two week mark of having the blood drawn. FX!

This morning was my first appointment with MFM. Just a bunch of talking about my history and waiting around. But they did have an opening this afternoon for my NT scan. So now I am eating lunch at the hospital restaurant and waiting until 2

Just got back from my ultrasound and they determined that the babies are definitely identical and definitely girls. They each have their own amniotic sac, so there’s no risk of entanglement, but since they share a placenta, i’ll Still be seen by an MFM to monitor their grown since there’s some risk involved there with uneven growth (they told me the name, I forgot and I refuse to google and worry until there’s a reason to).
They were laying right on top of each other which the ultrasound tech thought was hilarious. He gave me 3 pictures of it, plus the regular ones. So far they look perfect. They are both measuring exactly the same and right on track and even had the same heart rates today. Taking their identical status seriously, I guess.

I feel like I'm finally turning the corner into 2nd tri (13 weeks tomorrow)! I felt well enough to have coffee this morning, which I haven't done for nearly 8 weeks, and it really is the nectar of the gods! My mom is coming to town today since she was visiting her mom and sister an hour away, and picking up DD from school, and making us dinner! It's a great day!

potatocakes, me too! I’m 13w Friday and I ate a whole pack of peanut butter crackers today and still felt good. It was amazing! That’s the most food I’ve had at once since like...thanksgiving.

I'm so glad, I know you've had it rough. Maybe we'll all survive after all! I'm now convinced that at least 50% of my problem was that I wasn't drinking coffee. I feel like Jim Carrey in Yes Man when he has a red bull and goes crazy.

It's been two weeks since my NIPT blood draw and I was going nuts so I embraced the crazy and called the doctor and they had the freakin' results! No idea when they were going to get around to calling me. But we are TEAM BLUE. And I'm so excited. Funny-now story... we had an 17 week ultrasound with my first, and was told boy... and then AT THE 20 WEEK ANATOMY SCAN found out NOPE, girl. So I am almost not ready to fully believe it's a boy. But... NIPT. So yeah. AHHHHH.

Anybody here go through IF treatments? Even though this is my 2nd (hopefully take home) I still have crazy anxiety.

PennyCandy, oh man, hope you feel better! I also love your avatar. I want to smoosh its face. tarheelmom, that sounds like a balanced dinner to me lol. Now I'm thirsty. Like, drank 150+ oz yesterday and was still dying of thirst. Plus blurry vision, although that could be from my headaches. One of the other mom's mentioned GD, so I'm going to have to mention it at my next appt. Meanwhile, this might be the kick in the rear I need to go low carb, like I wanted to anyways.

I did 3 rounds of clomid with my RE over the summer, but was actually taking a break from treatment when I got pregnant. I’ve been more nervous this time around than I was with DD for sure. Maybe because there are 2, maybe because it was such a struggle to get here this time (about 18 months of ttc), maybe because of the bleeding at the beginning, maybe a combination of all of those, but the worry is there. I feel a little more relaxed after 3 ultrasounds and hitting second tri.

Ignorance really can be bliss and we aren't ignorant to the risks involved. I'm in the same boat so I don't have much helpful advice.
I hope the anxiety subsides as your pregnancy progresses.

Out of the 175 things that were tested for, I'm a carrier for one thing. Primary Hyperoxaluria. It's a liver/kidney thing. There are 3 types, type 1 being worst.
So basically I called the OB and the nurse said I was positive for 1 thing but she wasn't sure what and that I should have gotten an email from Counsyl. Well I hadn't yet. So I called Counsyl and apparently my results weren't going to be released until tomorrow. Luckily they had a genetic counselor call me so she could tell me what that result was. I don't remember her saying a type but that may be in tomorrow's released online results.
I am going to have MH tested, I think. But I'm not as omg in a rush as I would be if it were CF or muscular dystrophy. It's not a nothing disease, but it's treatable, and I'm trying to relax and take comfort in the fact that out of 175 things, I had negative carrier status for 174 of them.

goldenbird, Keep up the positive attitude! Obviously you still have unanswered questions but I'm glad you got the results today and didn't have to wait for the email tomorrow.

What's crazy is that I almost just did the 5 item screening. So I might have not even known this otherwise.

notmoose I have been putting myself in “time-out” for a few minutes every night. It buys me maybe 5 minutes of chill time, which is better than nothing but not enough.

I'm so glad I picked today for my terribly awesome fast food dinner. Nothing like a frozen custard brownie sundae to make everything feel okay.

Anybody here go through IF treatments? Even though this is my 2nd (hopefully take home) I still have crazy anxiety. TW loss I did IVF for this pregnancy and my first two pregnancies were with letrozole. I get the anxiety especially after losing my 2nd pregnancy so late. I feel like after going through IF, you know so much about what can go wrong and you've dealt with biology not working right already, so that can be anxiety inducing. I try to control what I can and hope for the best for the rest. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Did you have GD with your first? If it’s truly gestational then the placenta won’t start interfering until closer to 3rd trimester. I’ve had GD both pregnancies and expect to again this time. Happy to answer any questions. They tested me early last time (and will again this time, around 16w) but I passed until I hit 28w. If you’re prediabetic (more common in those of us who get GD), you can start having sugar issues much earlier in pregnancy than you do with gestational. My numbers were fine at 9w, so hoping I pass at least short term! Vision problems are really common in pregnancy for many reasons, I was due to get new glasses and now have to wait until after baby to get an accurate Rx (boo!).

My 4 year old just asked to see the picture of the baby, so I showed her the ultrasound photo. Her: “but why is it black?!” Hahah. I tried to explain that babies are not actually born looking like an ultrasound. My 4 year old has a similar reaction. He always asks to see pictures of the baby and is disappointed when it's an ultrasound. I thinks he's expecting a legit picture of her.
