Trying to plan the food for my DD's birthday party. Debating between hot dogs and burgers on the grill or making a few soups for the crockpot and set out lunch meat for sandwiches. Opinions? I say hot dogs and burgers! I think they are great party foods.

I am leaning towards the hot dogs and burgers too. The only thing holding me back is making the sides..deviled eggs, potato salad, etc. Usually if we do that stuff, my mom helps but she is still recovering from her mastectomy. And if we had a bbq then my family expects that stuff. Haha

klw - Could you get the potato salad at the grocery store and then have a variety of chips? Maybe some baked beans?

Just out of curiosity, anybody know the reasoning behind the 2month BMB? I assume its because traffic is slower in comparison to boards like Parenting/General Discussion. At the end of the day it really wont matter. But damnit I feel so far behind some of you right now especially since I'm due towards the end August.

I don't care for store bought potato salad. I know, I know, I make it harder for myself...

Damn, I want some deviled eggs now. jaztastic I’m pretty sure it’s due to slow traffic. Do we have anyone with team blue yet? I’m claiming pregnancy brain.

PennyCandy that's really awful. Can you start looking at alternate childcare options? If they won't let her go you may have to make a move (which I know is easier said than done). Either way I'm angry on your behalf.

Is anyone else feeling BH contractions yet? I'm 12+5, but just keep (once or twice a day) having my uterus get hard and like a ball.

kam3100, I'm team blue! catspajamas2, if it doesn't get resolved we'll have to look elsewhere. I like this center a lot, but I can't put my kid's health at risk and I certainly don't want to expose an infant to that.

Haha For DS’s 2nd birthday a couple of months ago we did hot dogs, baked beans and corn on the cob because they’re his favorite foods (and super easy to prepare!).

I didn’t feel DD until 20w and DS wasn’t as active, so I think I’ve got a real wiggle worm growing. Drink up, water always helped make my BH contractions calm down.

It's been overnight, so not much I can do about water at that point. Trying to stay hydrated during the day. I had tons of BH with DD, but I didn't know what they were until about 38 weeks, so it didn't bother me much.

I ate way too much for dinner. My stomach may explode. It was so good though.

My 4 year old just asked to see the picture of the baby, so I showed her the ultrasound photo. Her: “but why is it black?!” Hahah. I tried to explain that babies are not actually born looking like an ultrasound.

I have no opinion on second showers. If someone provides me with cake, I'm there. Also, amazon offers a 20% coupon for registry completion so definitely doing that, even though I don't need much. COUPON.
Anyone else dealing with headaches? Been chugging water like I'm a fish, and tylenol doesn't touch it. Not a migraine, but it's pretty close.

I'm sitting in the waiting room at the orthodontist. I have a bad habit of being super early for things. DD makes fun of me but I always tell her I'd rather be early than late. 🤷♀️ DDs appt isn't even until 4. We've been here since 3:25. Wow that is early! It kind of ties into my anxiety. I start getting anxious when I have to be somewhere, which causes me to leave earlier. Being late is just not possible for my brain. Luckily they were able to get us in a bit before her appt.

notmoose I have the same “habit”. For me it is more of a compulsion which I haven’t been able to break. Being late gives me major anxiety that I can’t quite explain. Yes. I just replied to a comment before yours that that's most of the reason why I'm early. Sorry you deal with that too, it's not fun.

Honestly I haven't tried anything to get them to go away except drink more water. I read 2nd tri brings on the headaches, so I figured there's not much I can do.

Headaches have been pretty consistent, but they were also with DS so I kind of expected them this time around. They seem to get worse in the evening for me for some reason. I try to stay hydrated but I haven't tried Tylenol yet, I'm really trying not to if I can.

notmoose, huh didn't know that about second tri. I don't remember them from DD, so it's new to me and ugh. cornflakegirl, I hate taking meds but I had to take the toddlermonster grocery shopping today, and I was not about to attempt that without meds. And it didn't even work. Didn't go grocery shopping. Whatevs. Pizza for supper.

Caffeine is the only thing that has helped my headaches - I try to stay well below the daily limit in case I get one. I don’t typically get headaches, but have had quite a few this pregnancy. I think all the drastic weather shifts are part of the problem.

kaeguri, we had fish sticks and french fries for dinner because I didn’t feel like cooking and I know the kids won’t fight me on eating them. They had fresh fruit too, so it wasn’t a total parenting fail. Whatever works, right?

I am so grumpy lately, particularly with my husband. He is a great guy but like the sight of him is making me angry. I really need to adjust my attitude but I can't figure out how. I'm getting a blowdry at 1pm instead of eating lunch today (well let's not be crazy, I'll eat lunch too). Maybe this will help.

I'm at home with a migraine today. I'm on day two and didn't sleep at all last night. I had headaches/migraines throughout the second tri with DS too, but I don't remember anything this bad. I feel guilty taking meds, but I can't function like this so it is what it is.
