How was April for you? What books are you looking forward to this month? Will you be watching any of the book adaptations coming to TV this month (Bridgerton, Dark Matter, etc)?

I will be watching Bridgerton for sure even though I'm not a Colin fan.
I forgot Dark Matter was coming out, what platform is it on? I loved the book so I'll definitely watch if we can.

The host of my book club chose 'Britt Marie Was Here' for this month's book. It is the sequel to a previous book club pick.
I also picked up 1776, The Lost Vintage, and Molly's Memoir from the library for this month's reading.

I have to recommend Things Fall Apart.
We don't learn about African history in US schools from an African perspective. This is the story of a tribal warrior and what happens to him and his people when the colonizers come. The last line is an absolute gut punch.

I read 7 books in April Annie Bot Inside the OβBriens - ICYMI Challenge 2015 The Frozen River - Buzzword (nature word) Beyond the Wand West with Giraffes - Decades Challenge (1930s) The Women - Book Club pick Just for the Summer - online book club pick My favorites were The Frozen River, Beyond the Wand, and The Women. I enjoyed Just for the Summer more than I thought I would, as I never read romance and only read it because it was a book club pick. I also really enjoyed Inside the OβBriens. Iβm definitely looking forward to watching Dark Matter with my husband! We both read it, and we havenβt watched a show together in awhile so Iβm excited.

Catholic and Protestant. Then had any βProtestantβ students raise their hands.

I read three books in April which has been pretty standard this year and is much more than past years so Iβll take it.
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin 3.5βοΈ Ducks by Kate Beaton 4βοΈ Parable of the Talents by Octavia Butler 5βοΈ
Everyone should read the parable books. Theyβre dark but so so good.

I tried bookmory for about two weeks. I did not like the interface and it wouldn't let me backdate the start of a book, or double image on a day if I finished one and started another.
I'm going to stick to Storygraph and my spreadsheet.

I had a big variety for April including 3 DNF (The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store, No Two Persons, The Anxious Generation - libby loan ended but I will get that one again eventually).
I also read 3 kid books after suggesting them for my DD as read-alouds (Prairie Lotus, The Bookwanderers, The Lost Fairy Tales). She didn't want to hear any of those, but I am currently reading to her the 1893 Chicago World Fair book, Fair Weather, by Richard Peck aloud to her since it ties in with our science unit about electricity.
Here's what I read in April: - The Oysterville Sewing Circle. 5 stars. TW for DV - Meet Me at Jimmy's Arcade. 3 stars. Central California memoir/mystery - Remarkably Bright Creatures. 5 stars. - Love's Harvest. 3 stars. Modern re-telling of the Bible book of Ruth. - The Girl Who Wrote in Silk. 5 stars. - I'll Be Seeing You. 4 stars. Faith-based dual timeline of today and WW2 for a family in Idaho. - The Wings of Poppy Pendleton. 5 stars. Faith-based dual timeline of 1915/20 and mid-1990's. TW child abuse - Listen for the Lie. 4 stars. TW DV - The Five-Star Weekend. 4 stars.
