I don’t like the design of Stanley cups personally. my only issue is the over consumption around reusable bottles of any kind. But like to each their own. I still use my Nalgene bottles from years ago. I have 3. One of them is always in the dish washer. I saw a video about those hospital pitchers bc I used my Kaiser one at home for a while too. Those hospital pitchers were the best I don’t know what it was but water tastes so good in them. I have a plant in mine now. The Kaiser one was wide enough for that plant to fit in it. Good times.

Ok but swimming at the beach is the literal worst. ”Swimming” in this context means boogie boarding and jumping in waves and climbing on rocks. 😂 No thank you, please.

We all had things we wanted bc trendy.
I don’t think it’s a big deal a parent indulged, third grade or not. Who cares, their kid is happy and it’s their call.
My tangential UO is that obsessive Stanley hate is as annoying as obsessive Stanley love. If you don’t like them, you should for sure not buy one.
And?

I find the cup thing so funny. I wonder what brand the next ONE will be.
My mom got me a Stanley as part of my bday gift this year. I use it and like it well enough.
The people who stood outside sbux or target an hour (probably more) before opening for one in a not even a cute enough color (imo of course) are wiiiiiiiild though. And the people who called nonstop trying to see if my store had one did make me feel very wow. I don’t understand these kinds of cup people.

It was surprising to me. So was the tech week schedule. Oh yes. It’s a lot to adjust to. Tech week will forever stress me out even though I’ve been through it twice now. We are an early to bed family so it messes us all up. DD1 really does best with 10+ hours of sleep, so how a full week of late bedtimes goes will be interesting.

I love my Stanley. I also love my simple modern bottle. MH makes fun of all my cups but I like them all for different situations. And sometimes I even like to be that person and match my cup to my outfit.

Thankfully the adidas three stripe jacket went on sale that Xmas so I could still have the other jacket of 1995.

We have three Stanleys, lol, at home. I like mine fine, but I found it still spills even with the little thingy over the straw. So.

I still remember the LA Gear Brats tennis shoes I got in my Easter basket in 1989. My only annoyance with getting a spendy gift like that for an elementary aged kid is that they are typically really forgetful, and I don't want to hear Nancy bitching all over the school FB page about her kid's cup being "stolen" when in reality little Cayleigh left it on the lunch table and now it's in the MPR lost shit graveyard.

So, this go around with covid has me sneezing and coughing nonstop. As a result by sneeze or cough number 5 or 6, I piss myself a little. Doesn't matter if I just peed. Apparently pelvic floor therapy only covers the first 4 or 5 coughs and sneezes. I am going through more pads than on my period. My pelvic floor was fine until my last bout of COVID and the coughing. Just sharing. I had literally just finished pelvic floor therapy and was on my way to “normal” when I got Covid. And it all went to shit and I had to start from scratch. That cough is no joke.

I would not get my kid a Stanley cup because they lose stuff all of the time and can’t be bothered to check lost and found. Maybe the 7th grader. They are having a good year in terms of losing stuff.

We need to include our water cup in our lewk? I see you’ve never met a 13 year old girl. Although I don’t see nearly the amount of Stanley cups at school now that I saw in September. Maybe they are all in lost and found, lol.

Maybe they are all in lost and found, lol. There is a long wall of cubbies at my daughter's dance studio where they store shoes, snacks, water bottles, their phones, etc. And now, all the girls bring their Stanley's, so it is a wall full of them. Including my DD's, of course.

I like that the Stanleys don’t rattle in my cup holders. I’m noise sensitive, and my SM one rattled. So do the SBX ones. My Nalgene is too wide.
It’s the Goldilocks of cups, for me.
I’m aware that will strike some as dumb but that rattle can push me over the edge pretty quickly.
Also sometimes I grab the one that matches my vibe for the day 🤷♀️

I love my Stanley’s. I have my house Stanley. My car Stanley that goes to the camper to become the camper Stanley. Then the boat Stanley. I have water with me all the time (ok the camper Stanley isn’t always water).
The kids don’t have Stanley’s because they lose shit. They can have the Amazon thing I can get next day. They don’t seem to get made fun of. But they are also boys and also don’t care.
I do think the hate is dumb. If you don’t like it fine. Don’t get one. No one fucking cares. I don’t care what water cup you have.

Oh and I will say when I was buying a new car I totally ruled out cars based on cup holders. This is not Stanley related. But it was based on will it fit a normal travel coffee cup.
