How long do you generally expect to wait at the walk in clinic? This is at my primary care office, but they also do walk in clinic with NPs. I am here for a rattly cough, so hopefully not major, but I have been in the waiting room for over an hour at this point. I can’t tell if people who came in after me for walk in have gone in first because they also do regular appointments in the same office. I am getting so frustrated, but maybe I shouldn’t be.
ETA: this is a big practice with probably 15 doctors, so it’s busy, but not crowded.

sewf, you might go up to the desk and make sure they checked you in properly and ask for an ETA.

ETA: this is a big practice with probably 15 doctors, so it’s busy, but not crowded. I usually ask how long the wait is when I check in and it could be anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours so an hour wouldn't surprise me. And then sometimes there can be more waiting to see the actual provider once you're in a room. Also, I know urgent cares can triage, like an ER would, so that could be adding to your time. I would just go to the front desk and ask how much longer they expect the wait to be. Our walk-in clinic now has a screen that shows where you are in the queue and it gets updated with expected wait time, which is super helpful. We can also make appointments.

I've spent the morning trying to figure out business tax stuff so that's fun. I also need to figure out camp registrations.

It's finally a new month and the sun is shining here! I'm sitting on the couch soaking in some of the warmth from the sun's rays. Waiting for the numbness to wear off from a filling I got done today so I can get something to eat. I got a filling last week and the dentist used SO MUCH novocaine I could not feel literally half my face for hoooours. It was so weird. The dentist was young so I assume new and I guess afraid of hurting me so I think he went heavy handed. Hope you get to eat soon!

I am finally in a room and just waiting on the nurse. I was just getting worried because I have to be at work in just over an hour. I really hope I get some good meds after this wait😂. My cough is bad enough that H cringes every time. It’s one of those can’t-catch-your-breath coughs.

All of the kids are in school, and I’m watching Vanderpump Rules with my coffee. It’s pouring outside, and it looks to be that way for most of the next week.

One evening I brought DS in for his cough and lethargy, and our wait was a little over an hour at 8 pm, but the nurse said earlier in the day it was 3+ hours.

Thank god January is finally over. I’m sitting in my car in the parking garage because it’s pouring and I’m not ready to brave the walk into my building. The contractors started the framing on the addition Monday and that included taking the roof off and covering everything in plastic in preparation for the rain, but of course they snagged it in one place so we woke up to water all over the bathroom floor. The GC is at the house now shoring everything up. They also still can’t figure out where water is getting in around the door so that’s a wet mess too. The flooring is totally ruined and I’m hoping we have enough extra in the garage to replace it. It’s of course been discontinued and we can’t get anymore so matching it will be a nightmare. Stupid old houses.

sewf you've been sick for a while! I hope you finally get some relief. We finally have had a few days in a row of dry weather here and the weather for the weekend looks decent so I was hoping for a hike. DS is getting over being sick and H said this morning he feels like he's coming down with it so... maybe a solo hike

I've given up on hoping for any more snow this winter. We had one significant snowfall, the first in over a year, and I guess that's it for us.
Hoping to get my head on straight this month and feel good before our trip in March.

It’s finally sunny so I’m taking DS2 on a short hike after nap today. It’s amazing how much the sunshine can improve our moods!

The best dentist I ever had fillings from (unfortunately moved out of my area), let me know that your body metabolizes the numbing agent just like it does anything else, so if you go on a walk or something, and speed up how your body processes, it wears off more quickly. I try to always plan a short walk after a filling, now.

I finally got the last needed forms to file our taxes, so I'll be taking care of that this week. Then our refund will be promptly spent on summer camps for B. Womp womp.

It was a 6:30pm appointment- I came home and did yoga and my normal night time routine and I think it finally wore off around 10pm. Definitely the longest I've ever experienced. Bodies are so weird.

Roughly 2 weeks ago my dryer started growling. We tried a new motor. Nope that wasn't it. So then I ordered new rollers. Well they have updated the rollers which meant I needed new axles too but those didn't come with the rollers so now we're sending those back and H is going to order an aftermarket roller kit he found online that should work and has the axles and everything. In the meantime I've been washing small loads and hanging them on a rope in the basement with a fan blowing on them. We also cleaned the washer (the pump was making noises) and found a credit card that expired in 2019. Guess we probably need to clean that screen a little more often... 🤣

I’m going to have to remind myself of this 12 day sun drought in the summer when I’m hoping for a rain day on the weekend so I don’t feel guilty about having a lazy day

But at least DS gets outside recess for the first time in a long time.

My kid just lost her molar. She said it’s been loose for a while but was scared because she thought it was a permanent one 😂😂
Now that it’s out she said oh there is a tooth poking out of my gum so it’s all good.

I have a dumb question. Anyone here hang most of their clothes to dry? Is there a secret to your jeans not being able to stand on their own? 🤣 I've been using gain liquid fabric softener but wondering if a different kind would work better. Right now we can run the dryer for about 10 minutes and then have to wait forever to run it another 10 minutes so I've been doing that to fluff them a bit but the towels are still pretty scratchy.
