I’m the only one up and hoping to have a productive hour or so before anyone bugs me. Today’s list includes:
Cleaning out the fridge Getting my tree down ( I needed new storage for my ornaments so it hasn’t been done yet) Getting all the Christmas stuff organized neatly in the basement (H’s job) Making peanut butter “tastykakes” for a coworker Clearing all my kitchen countertops since the island has become a dumping ground for school papers, mail, etc.

My list to do today is laundry. Just a metric fuck ton of laundry.
And trying to get B to the barbershop, then his soccer game tonight.

My kid has been taking skating lessons recently and decided today he wants to sign up for hockey next season. Bye bye monies. our league has a first year discount, maybe yours has something similar? I’ve also found hockey to be not that crazy (yet) in terms of cost or time. Especially compared to other activities (looking at you, cheer) Hockey has honestly been the best thing for my DS1 in terms of confidence and he absolutely loves it.

We have 3 leagues to choose from, regular minors, Flames house league, and a private one. Flames goes through the minor league association but is low commitment and lower cost but is super competitive to get into because of that. I think we’ll aim for the regular league but it’s all kind of confusing. This is the first team sport DS has shown any interest in so I want to encourage it

We have a sunny but cold day here. I’ve got the sun streaming in and it’s so nice. I really need the sunshine these days! We will be heading outside later after DS2’s nap to enjoy some sun.

Or wait till the fall? Flames house league sounds super cool, my kid would be stoked for that, just based on the name (and Oilers obv )

The house league would be good, they only do U9 and U11 so this would be the last year he could play it and it’s only 1 practice and 1 game a week.

I just received confirmation that my Wegovy prescription was filled. It was prescribed several months ago but my husband's plan didn't have coverage so I took out a policy through my employer that would cover it. Of course that aligned with the national shortage and then there were mixups with prior auth being sent to the wrong plan, and my plan not actually recognizing my coverage...so many hours on the phone last week.
So now I guess this means I need to take the eating healthy thing seriously and take full advantage of this. I saw a picture of myself posted on FB the other day and didn't even recognize myself so it's long overdue.
Any tips are appreciated.

My DH started wegovy in Oct I think and he must have gotten extremely lucky with his timing because he had no issues getting his doses. I tried a month after and couldn't find it anywhere. He has lost 42 pounds so far. I started mounjaro around the beginning of the year and Im down about 12 so far. Definitely watch out for constipation, that been my biggest issue. Make sure to eat plenty of protein and drink lots of water! Good luck!

I saw a picture of myself posted on FB the other day and didn't even recognize myself so it's long overdue. Any tips are appreciated. Here's the goals I set with my dr: - Water! I set my goal of 96 ounces a day.
- A serving of veggies at lunch and at dinner.
- Protein at breakfast
- Eat slowly and stop when you feel full, even if it's much less than you typically would eat
I've found the meds make me queasy enough and also make me feel pretty full when I eat, so I can lose weight even if my diet is trash. So it's important to use the meds to help you build better eating habits if/when you transition off the med.
I take my dose Thursday around dinner time. Watch a video or two about injecting yourself. I have always done my belly.

I’ve recently started a fiber supplement for IBS so I’ll be all about the fiber - and now protein and water I’m just hoping it works to keep me from wanting to eat nonstop all day long

All of this! It honestly took me about 4 months to not feel queasy on it day to day and also a bit tired, probably because I was not eating enough (I felt full fast and just couldn’t do more than a few bites of food at meals sometimes). But since then I’ve stabilized and can eat three meals a day and my energy levels have bounced back. In the last 4 months or so I’ve been able to really up my activity levels and I’m more active than I have been in years. I totally agree that you can lose weight eating trash and my goal from day one was to not lean on this as that kind of tool but instead one of many tools in the toolbox to leverage. So I’m eating better, exercising more, and taking this medicine. I’ve hit my weight loss goals and am now just working on maintaining (still on meds for now) but with a goal of not needing them forever and not regaining it all once I have to go off of it. Oh and on days when I am feeling full but know I need some calories I lean on smoothies with lots of fresh fruits and veggies vs. skipping meals. I have aimed for slow and steady weight loss (about .5lb a week) vs. skipping meals and really losing drastically fast. I do my shot in the thigh solely because it hurts less, but it doesn’t hurt at all. Definitely drink a lot of water, especially the 24 hours following your shot. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I did my first shot last night. Woke up in the middle of the night with a headache and nausea but so far today have been fine (knock on wood). Drinking lots of water and packed a salad for lunch.

I woke up at 7:18 with zero recollection of turning my alarm off at 6:30, so either it didn't go off at all or I was REALLY out of it. I got up and out the door within 15 minutes, so I feel very blah today.

I did not get a 3rd interview with the place that would have almost doubled my salary but I did finally get a second interview with my old place in a different role so I have everything crossed. I need a win soon

I can't seem to get warm today- and it's not even that cold out! The dogs had me up early this morning so I got in a quick workout this morning and am really looking forward to bumming around tonight.

Colonoscopy prep sucks Fingers crossed that it's really $0 like surgery center quoted. In nov they said $0 til last minute when they said you owe 800+ right now. So I walked out/cancelled right there. Now it wouldn't be a surprise if it costs money, but gosh it better not. [Unless they find something wrong and screening colonoscopy becomes diagnostic. Then I'll owe $$$]

The little kitten’s hip and spay surgery is today, and unfortunately I can’t be there. I know she’s in good hands but I have anxiety.
I guess this means I’m adopting her. Big shock to everyone involved 🙄
