Oh my! I wonder if they think she's involved or being held against her will. Why won't they release the information about whose cell phone called 911?

ETA - I could be wrong

I just read that she was ruled out as a suspect on day one and they believe her to be in danger. I see this too: "Jayme has been missing since Monday morning when police received a frantic 911 call from a cellphone inside her parents' Barron, Wisconsin, home crying for help. Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said the call came in around 2 a.m. ET and the caller did not interact directly with the 911 operator." So did she secretly call and talk, but not directly to the operator?

I have read about this. It sounds really scary and my understanding is that it's as pretty rural area? I'm sure it's shaking up the community quite a bit.

I think I read there was screaming on the 911 call. but I hadn't previously considered that she was involved, so I wasn't reading it with that frame of mind.

this is all up in the national news.. I saw that there was a potential sighting of her in Florida. I can't imagine what's happening with all of this. They have determined that the girl in the FL video wasn't Jayme.

They haven't publicly said whose cell phone the 911 call came from either.

I've been following bc local-ish. It's about 90 minutes from me. It's a small rural area with not much around.

Relatives of Jayme told CBS News the front door to the house was shot in. Interesting. Did the neighbor not hear the door gunshot? All I read were comments on the two quick shots they suspect killed her parents.

Shouldn’t they have heard a third?

It was in the middle of the night, so I could see that the neighbor might have missed a shot or two.
Also, the "shooting down the door" could've been kicking or smashing it in too. I'm looking on google maps now to see the area.

Their house is right on a rural highway, but set back a bit. The house and driveway are quite close to the highway. With trees, you can't see neighbors or really see the whole house from the road.

I just read that it took the police only 4 minutes to respond to the 911 call but by the time they got there Jayme was gone and they didn't see any suspicious vehicles in the area. That is 1) a faster response time then I would expect in a rural area and 2) a quick getaway. I suspect her 911 call was discovered by the perpetrators but IDK why they would take her.

My first thought was also that they suspected her.. Then felt like an asshole for thinking that because she's probably in danger.
The articles I read didn't mention screaming on the 911 call . It was very vague about what was heard on it. I hope she's found safe.

My best guess is it’s either an online predator obsessed with her or a totally inexplicable Elizabeth Smart crazy-pants kidnaping situation. Idk. It’s so very strange.

I’ve been following too. I really hope they find her. This whole thing sounds very personal to me though. Or her calling threw a wrench in the plans so they took her with them. Though I can’t figure out why they wouldn’t just shoot her. 🤷🏼♀️

I have also been vaguely following. I am hoping she’ll be found soon and the truth comes out. It all sounds terribly violent.

The sheriff just made this press release. Long, but interesting. I can't tell if this means that they no nothing at all or that they have good leads but need more people to help corroborate allegations.
Press Release
Oct 19, 2018
Today, October 19th is the fifth day that Jayme Closs has been missing. We would like to thank the community for their support and prayers as we investigate the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
Barron County continues to with our local, state and federal partners. We have received over 1000 tips and want information to continue to come in using the tip line (1-855-744-3879). We also have added an email address, jaymetips@co.barron.wi.us which will accept any photos or videos related to possible sightings.
We have conducted hundreds of interviews and are aggressively following up on tips the public has provided.
We are reaching out to share with you some of the information we are looking for:
People may act differently shortly after committing a violent act. You may have observed such behaviors and not realized it at the time. We are asking you to think back to earlier this week and let us know if you’ve noticed any of the following:
Changes in Routine: o They will miss work. The absence will be sudden and unplanned. They may either be a “no show” or they may offer a reasonable excuse such as illness, death in the family, car trouble, etc. o They may miss scheduled appointments. These appointments or commitments may include medical appointments, a regular responsibility to a friend or family member, like caring for an elderly relative. o They may suddenly leave town, either with no explanation or with some reasonable explanation. Changes in Normal Behavior: o There may be changes in their usual consumption of alcohol and/or drugs. This could be an increase or a decrease in drinking or drug use. o They may make a change in how they look or make it difficult to identify them, such as changing the look of their vehicle or selling or getting rid of their vehicle. o They may pay too much or too little attention to the progress of this investigation that seems out of the ordinary. They may try to find new information about the investigation or, they may quickly turn off the news and social media or try to redirect conversations about the victims or their families. o They may be anxious, nervous, or irritable. They may withdraw from normal activities.
In addition, we are seeking information about the victims, Denise and James Closs. We are hopeful to learn more about the Closs family to help bring Jayme home. If you spent time with members of the Closs family recently, or if you have ever had a misunderstanding with members of the Closs family, or know someone who has, please call the tipline.
Per Chris Fitzgerald, Barron County Sheriff
