Sleep training is going okay. We got an 8 hour stretch last night. Of course I was awake in the middle of the night engorged and wondering if he was alive. He is in our room but in the walk in closet with the sliding door mostly closed on the end he is on ( it is basically a long closet but just deeper, not a true walk in). I think I may be getting sick though and I am hoping DS2 doesn't get it because we will have to stop sleep training.

It seems like we've turned a corner in terms of day time sleep. E has napped in her crib 3 days in a row for about an hour each time. I can't tell you how relieved I am.

I've also allowed wake ups after midnight and nursed to sleep and we've always been very successful with nursing. However, I am dying at the lack of sleep. I have abruptly decided we are sleep training. My plan involves firm bedtime routine and then putting him to bed. If he cries, I'll go in after 5 minutes and replace the paci, give him his beanie baby, and pat his tummy. Then I leave and wait 10 minutes. I feel EVIL. But he's actually crying less. So I guess that's a win? I started listening to a new book. You all might enjoy it. All Joy and No Fun by Jennifer Senior it's on Hoopla if you need it. It's kind of sarcastic and an interesting take on life as a new parent.
