nevertoomanyshoes Congrats!! Oh that has to be a huge relief, I'm so glad for you guys! calendula DS2 can't be far from 20 pounds, either. He's so much chunkier than my first, and I'm definitely noticing the difference with the bucket seat. I used to carry DS1 in the bucket everywhere, but I basically only use the bucket to carry DS2 in and out of the house. Otherwise, I just pop him in the Tula. We have a meet and greet/open house for DS1's preschool class tomorrow. He's excited, and so am I! I think DH will be able to work from home so he can come, too.

Re: ditching the bucket seat You can always leave the bucket in the car if you’re not sure you’re ready to totally transition to a convertible. It might even be a good idea to do that as a test run so you still have the bucket option as a safety net.
DD2 isn’t nearly has heavy as DD1 so I’m going to leave her in the bucket for awhile.

I got a good twenty minutes after two hours of woke and now we are up for the day. It’s cool. We are on potty training day 3 here and have my niece’s birthday party tonight. I will survive this, right?

Both my kids have colds and have been monsters. This week was crazy busy but there's nothing scheduled today so I'm going to let the tv parent as much as I can and let go of the guilt. I have so much paperwork and so many phone calls to make that my head feels like it might explode.

DS has been sick for several days. He's been inexplicably grouchy, which he's never ever grouchy. He has a bit of rash beside his nose and he's been very warm, but not fever temps. Aaaand he hasn't pooped since he got sick. I know this has been discussed eleventy times on this board but I always scrolled past cause DS has always pooped 5 times a day. Going 3 days for a BF baby is NBD right?
He seems more cheerful this morn and less rashy I think. And a tiny smear of poop so hopefully he's on the other side.

So I think we have officially gone through the 4 month sleep transition. My baby that use to nurse to sleep and go straight down at bedtime and after MOTN wake ups now takes 2 hours at bed and at least one hour in the night. Sorry kid, your 5 months today so sleep training is happening. It only took a few nights with DS1 who was cosleep in at the time so hopefully it is the same this time around.

OMG I am laughing. Jonathan was giving Sebastian a bath and I heard him singing something about catching a fish. Then he wrapped him in a towel and I heard him say something about a burrito then, "are you a fish taco?" 😂

Congratulations nevertoomanyshoes that must be such a relief. Daycare sent am emailing saying someone in the infant room has HFM. L was acting off after he got home and has a fever...ugh. DS1 has a canker sore and says that it won’t go away because it wants to ride a bus. That boy really wants to ride a school bus.

N started rolling several days ago. This means she is now sleeping mostly on her side or Belly, and she has also started sucking her thumb while falling asleep. The past 3 nights we've gotten 11+ hours of sleep and I am sooooo happy! One or both of those things must be allowing her to sleep longer.
But is thumb sucking a bad habit at this age?

I filled out the forms for DS2’s daycare enrolment today and I left the box under “interests” blank. Felt that writing “eating his hands.” wasn’t what that box was for.

I’m lol-ing at my FTM former self. For DS1s “interests” when he was a baby I wrote heaps of stuff that I now know falls under “shit all babies love”

We started last night. I am suppressing all my sleep disasters and months of sleep training PTSD from DS1 as best I can and just going for it with DS2. So far he’s responding better than DS1 did so hope that continues.

I have my first appt with a therapist in the morning. I was taking a look at her profile on the website, and it looks like she's a few years younger than me. I hope that doesn't make for a weird dynamic, either way I'm glad I'm finally getting in and I figure I can always switch to someone else later if it isn't a good fit. Fingers crossed that DS2 takes a bottle from DH while I'm gone. If not, at least I'll only be gone for and hour and a half. mintyblueair I'm not sure about thumb-sucking being a bad habit at this age, but I don't know that it's a battle I would pick this young. nevertoomanyshoes I'm in your shoes (ha) too, with trying to forget about the disaster that was sleep with DS1 even though I remember you going through yours and it was so much worse than mine. My DS2 seems to be doing better, too, so fingers crossed for both of us!

katietopaz it’s going very differently so far. This one is not as stubborn as his older brother it seems but it’s definitely not pleasant. Why don’t babies know how to sleep and how good sleep is!!!???

I’m stuck in the baby’s room as he’s not quite asleep and it’s very light still so if I open the door and let light in he may start crying again. Trying to stifle a cough.

Congrats @nevertwomanyshoes! katietopaz I hope the therapy goes ok. J is driving me crazy. Right now it seems that he only wants to nap while being held. I rock him, he falls asleep, he wakes up the instant I put him down. But at night he stays asleep. I can’t figure out the difference. We have blackout curtains in his room, so it’s not like it’s really bright in there.
