New week, thank goodness.
Yesterday was the worst. I woke up with the flu or something. Nausea, headache, body aches, chills. H had the same thing, so he was no help with L. I was starting to feel a little better last night so I tried to eat some lasagna... and dropped it all over the kitchen floor, oven, fridge, rug. I’m feeling tons better today, so I guess it was just a 24 hour thing.

End of August, holy cow. Glad you're feeling better clementine! Ds and I also had a few hours of completely random flu like symptoms yesterday. So weird.

Aw clementine, I'm sorry. What an insult to get sick on a weekend and feel better on Monday. Glad you're back up and running though.

I'm glad you are feeling better clementine. I always hate it when both H and I are sick at the same time because he is of no help and I still have to parent even though I feel awful.

L had blood in her stool again on Saturday. I'm going to call her pediatrician this morning to see if she wants her to go in or just monitor. It happened last Saturday when we were on vacation too. I'm racking my brain and can't figure out what I ate that would have had dairy in it. And she never had bloody stool before I gave up dairy so I hope she isn't getting more sensitive to it.

Good morning! I’m sorry I’ve been MIA. Life has just felt a little overwhelming and I’m trying to get some of my mom groove back. Ha.
DS1 starts back to preschool next week and I’m really excited for him. He’s looking forward to it, and I think it will be really good for him to be back in a program. We’re also planning to convert his crib into a toddler bed sometime in the next month, just to add to the sleep silliness in our house.
How many naps are your babies taking now? I feel like DS2 is trying to consolidate his two morning catnaps into one, but he’s struggling with that transition.

My fever broke for a few hours but now it's back. Ugh. And if course N has decided she hates sleep, E is super clingy, my H has to work until 7 and I have to get an anniversary gift for my boss for tomorrow. Basically, I give up.

Glad you're feeling better already clementine. I'm sorry cornpop. That sounds awful. katietopaz idk about naps. It depends so much if he takes 29.8 minute naps or 2+ hours naps. He still is only happy to be awake for an hour most of the time so it's a lot of naps. If he goes back to consistently napping for 2+ hours I think he'll be cutting down the number since before sleep regression hit I thought he was gonna transition to fewer naps.

katietopaz L will be 6 months this week and we’re between 3 and 4 naps when he’s home with me, which are usually 45 min to an hour. Wake time between naps is about 2 hours. I desperately wish he would nap just a bit longer because it seems like we end up with a little too long before bedtime, but too short for another nap. At daycare, who knows. It’s a crapshoot. Usually 2-3 naps. Sometimes they’re 1.5 hours and sometimes 20 min.

Thanks everyone! Glad to be better. H, on the other hand, is still sick. Can’t decide if it’s real or if he’s milking it.
Is anyone transitioning to a convertible seat? How do I know when I need to do that? How long does it make sense to still use the infant seat, as long as he still fits?

How do I know when I need to do that? How long does it make sense to still use the infant seat, as long as he still fits? We will keep using it(as long as he still fits) until we're not using the bucket seat to carry him in places. Like when he gets too heavy for it to work as well? Or idk because that's where he naps whenever we're out of the house. Then we'll put the convertible in the car and the bucket seat in the truck for an extra till he outgrows it. My BFFs with 9 month olds are still carrying their LOs in in their bucket seats. 🤷

I'm sorry cornpop. I hope you are feeling better soon. Regarding naps, we are nowhere near a consistent schedule. Some days she will take one or two long naps (2 hours long) and other days she takes short catnaps. On the days when D1 is at school she will take a decent morning nap after drop off because it's quiet. When D1 is home I have to take her upstairs to get her to nap because she is so sensitive about noise. Unless we are out and I'm wearing her then she will sleep no problem with noise. I ordered a zipadee zip and I'm hoping to get her into more of a sleeping routine soon.

Man, I hope everyone and their babies feel better soon.
My toddler is driving me fucking nuts. She gave up on napping and is now the worst person in the world from noon on. I want to scream. I’m at the end of all my ropes. I cannot take the whining.

katietopaz, L's naps are all over the place too. DH had her on a fantastic nap schedule when he was on pat leave. Two 20-30 min catnaps in morning and late afternoon with a huge 2 hour power nap in the middle of the day. Daycare screwed that up though. She gets maybe 2-3 naps of varying lengths but it isn't consistent. clementine I will be transitioning soon. I can't stand the bucket seats. So heavy. And while its super convenient to plop into a stroller, most of our life isn't stroller friendly. There are stairs to get into my house, DS's school, and daycare. I can't use the stroller at the grocery store. And those 4 places are pretty much the only places I would ever take her, lol. So I am already getting to the point where I take her out of the seat and carry her into wherever I'm going. It won't be long.

We use the bucket until I can't stand to carry it anywhere. My goal is typically through the first winter because it's so much easier! However, I would say at least until baby can sit up independently because then you can put them in the grocery cart at a store. clementine, it's the worst when both adults are down. Give your dh a day and then I'd really expect him to perk up. Like, I'd start saying, gosh you must be feeling a ton better, this bug seems to last about a day or two, I am so glad you're nearing the end of it. lol, but I have no sympathy. katietopaz, our naps are all over the place. Afternoon nap is pretty consistent and usually the longest so from around 1-3:30 or 4. It's usually really good! Morning nap is either on the go or he will sleep an hour in his crib. He may cat nap late morning and early evening as well, but I try for bed time to be the next sleeping round after afternoon nap. polson are you around? We still need to meet up, maybe before summer ends??

I started refinishing some book shelves yesterday and they look so nice! I cannot believe it took me a year to get around to doing it. I am hoping to finish them tonight! Also, ds has a little tiny tooth. He's only 4 months old!! Ugh, this so explains his crappy attitude lately. I'm hoping we are over the worst of it now that I can see it.

I was able to donate 100oz of milk to a local mom this weekend. It felt really nice to help out another mama and I decided that I’d love to do it again.

Bucket seats have the stickers in the side with the height and weight limits, as long as they fit within BOTH of those you can keep using! With that said, I switched my DD around 8m because she was a car seat hater. Everyone said it would be the magic key to her enjoying car rides but turns out they were all liars😏 I plan to keep O in the seat through the winter and probably switch him in the spring as long as he isn’t a giant baby!

With ds we used the bucket until he was sitting independently and refused to recline and lay down in the thing and would scream the. entire. ride. The convertible helped. We skipped it completely this time.

But also, what convertible are you all considering? We have E in a Graco extend 2 fit. I really liked it at first, but now that she's a but bigger she seems scrunched and her head flops forward a terrible amount. It's on the most reclined setting and I've done all the things they recommend to get a better fit and it doesn't make a difference. Seriously considering replacing it.

DS1 was in his until he was 8 months, but this one is at the highest seat belt strap marker and he’s not even 5 months. I’ll be getting the convertible seat installed soon.

I’m over trying to sell our house. I felt close to breakdown yesterday trying to clean the house for the open with two kids who were never both happy at the same time. The baby is having the separation anxiety and just wants to be nursing or held by me constantly. It’s exhausting. We have dropped the price we would take by $30000 already what more do people want????? There are bargain homes around that need lots of work or there are slightly more expensive ones that need some updating or more expensive ones that need nothing. We are in that middle category. I just don’t understand.

ArielMermaid hugs, that nap transition with toddlers is rough. We still do the odd car nap when he’s super foul. He’s also going to bed at 6:00 at the moment if he’s not napped (still naps at daycare maybe twice a week but never at home). That’s helped the mood a little. When it gets really foul I just stick a movie on. My sanity can’t take both the baby and toddler losing it all afternoon (baby hates naps too).

Don’t mind me post whoring it up lol. We are not really in a nap routine yet, except that the morning nap is 1.5 hours after he wakes for the day and is his best nap (45 min to an hour). Then it’s usually another 30 min cat nap 1.5-2 hours later then a shit show then maybe a car nap if I can’t get him down. Some days he’s in bed for the night (with wake ups for feeds) at 5pm because he’s an overtired mess. The other night it was 4:50pm.
Last night was almost comical it was that much of a disaster. Had an open home so we went to McDonald’s for dinner (bathed kids before hand, they went in pyjamas). Got home at 6. Put overtired baby down. Got toddler to bed. Baby wakes, screams the house down because H tried to settle him and not me. Tag. Screaming woke up toddler who screamed the house down because H tried to settle him not me. Baby screamed because toddler was screaming. Poor H couldn’t do shit to help and I’m trying to put two kids back to sleep who are now 2.5 and 1.5 hours past bed time.
Reason #35 why our house needs to sell today.
