I’m glad I’m not the only one that hasn’t been able to find time to exercise. It doesn’t help that I’m, how would I say it, challenged in the athletic department (for example, when a ball comes my way, my first response is to run/duck...). You could always get an elliptical machine that you can use under your desk or while you’re watching tv. I have one at work that I’ve been using when it’s too cold or too hot outside to walk on my breaks.

You won't find me on am sports teams or anything!

I'm back to eating every three hours. I have a list of options on the fridge for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. It's a pretty extensive list so I won't get bored of the same foods, and I can make the right choices. The hardest part for me has been around 7 PM when the kids are in bed, and I'm getting ready to get to bed myself. I'll stand in the kitchen with MH and just talk and eat and I'm not paying attention to how much I'm eating. I'm also trying to wrap my head around the difference between feeling full and feeling satisfied. I like the entire act of food so much that I want to feel satisfied (read happy) with every meal and snack, but that's not always going to be the case. A couple of slices of an apple, a hard-boiled egg and six or seven almonds will make me feel full and will give me the energy I need, but it may not make me feel satisfied, and I need to learn to be okay with that for now. This is a great idea for when I'm working from home. I worry I'll just resort to making a meal of chips and junk because I just don't want to think about what I can make/eat that is healthy. I would really struggle is I worked from home. I struggle on my days home with the kids because I mindlessly snack. At work I'm good because I just eat what I brought from home for the most part and don't keep extra snacks readily available.

I drank so much water all day because I was talking nonstop, and I always had a lunch box full of healthy things. Never left campus because I couldn't go that far and back in the 39 minutes i was free, so I was never tempted by the deli or pizza or even Starbucks. I guess I'm doing my best to replicate that here.

Easily helps me get at least a couple extra hours of movement a week. It's something.

I guess I'm doing my best to replicate that here. I'll order out occasionally or grab something from the cafeteria, but mostly just eat what I bring. I eat snacks/small meals throughout the day and feel satisfied. At home I could eat the same thing but not feel satisfied because I KNOW there is more in the pantry!

Just wanted to chime in here that there was really good stuff said here today (better snacking & weightloss without exercise ). I want to add that mental health is important too. And if worrying about weight and fitting in workouts doesn't fit with what you need right now, that is ok. After my second failed attempt at BBM, I looked at this and realized it was causing me a lot of stress to think about my body not changing or just needing that time on the couch to decompress. Yes I went up 2 more sizes and 30# after I quit breastfeeding but I was happy. In the spring a friend recommended water aerobics and it was a blast and made you want to go back. Them someone mentioned WW and that worked for me.

Way personal of a question so feel free to ignore, but with sharing a room with the boys and living with you parents, how do you find a time and a place for such a thing? My sister and her H have been living with my parents and said that it's the best birth control ever haha.

So we close ours and go to the living room usually. It is not a frequent occurrence. Reason number 39859684 why we need our house..

I did well yesterday not eating a bunch of snacks and crap...until bedtime. After the rough bedtime I started questioning my parenting abilities and ended up eating my feelings with 2 chocolate toaster strudels. Good thing these are a limited time flavor because damn, they are good.

I didn't workout and didn't do my best on food yesterday, but not horrible either. Today is a new day!
