katietopaz those cookies sound delicious! another anecdote for you...my cousin (male) loved baking and cooking from day one and is now a 28 year old culinary school grad! tinyjoys can’t wait to hear about the cupcakes and your kiddos reactions tomorrow - that sounds so exciting/fun!

katietopaz, do you make the puff pastry from scratch? Do you have a link for the recipe? I love the sound of that filling!

katietopaz, do you make the puff pastry from scratch? Do you have a link for the recipe? I love the sound of that filling! I don't, I just buy the sheets in the freezer section. For sure my grandma and earlier did, but my mom made it from scratch for a couple years and couldn't tell enough of a difference for the amount of work it took. I don't have a link, but I'll try to shorthand type up the written-out recipe from my mom. I'm leaving out her many tips, so if you want those, let me know and I'll PM you. 1 pkg puff pastry (thawed but cool) - Cut each piece pastry into thirds. Roll out thin on floured surface. Cut into 3/4" strips. Wrap around seasoned clothespin (greased w Crisco), overlapping edges slightly, and seal final edge with finger dipped in water. Bake at 375F for 9-11min, until just browned. Cool slightly and remove from clothespin. 1 1/2c Crisco (do not substitute) 1 1/2c sugar 2 tsp vanilla 1 can thank-you brand vanilla pudding 1 7oz jar marshmallow creme/fluff -Cream together Crisco and sugar. Add vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Add pudding and marshmallow creme. Beat again until fluffy. Chill. Use ziploc bags to fill cookies. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

I cut off half the length of my hair this morning. Very freeing! You are so brave! Will you show us a pic? I'm trying work up the guts to cut some length off- it's been the same since HS😳😂 Ok, sorry 12 hours later. I never take pictures of myself but maybe I'll get DH to get a pic of my hair. It's not short, it was just nasty long before. And also a stupid home coloring job gone bad so the bottom third was really dry and reddish. I usually donate, but that had to go in the trash. I always wear it up, but it was bugging me when I was home and had it down. Anyway the shortest is shoulder length, kind of a layered v.

katietopaz don't feel bad for being upset! Even though we know you know it doesn't have to be that way sometimes it's hard to break away from the gender roles we have been so ingrained with. And pregnancy hormones make us do silly things, yikes. Just the fact that you KNOW it's not something that has to be true means a lot. My brother LOVES to cook. I really enjoy him being home/visiting him because we always do something in the kitchen together. I hope you can pass down your clothespin cookies to one of your boys ❤❤ And if they aren't interested, I love the idea of sharing that with one of their spouses someday. Also what do you season the clothespins with? Something more than Crisco I assume?

I almost went and got my hair cut today. I haven't had it cut since maybe January? Oops.
I don't want it to be any shorter but my layers have all grown out and I really need to do something about that.

Thank you for the anecdotes about boys that enjoy cooking! It really is nice to hear. I certainly won't force it on my boys but we'll at least start with cutout cookies together. alwayscheese I posted a couple of pictures upthread, I think on the last page! They're deliciousness in a cookie! nuggetrn I'm actually not totally sure. For a Christmas gift the first Christmas I was married, my mom gave me a bag of seasoned clothespins. I want to say it's like a half-day process of using Crisco and something else, baking them in the oven, cooling a bit, then repeat several times. Then the idea is that you use the same clothespins year-to-year and they just continue to season. mintyblueair Speaking of which, I'll check with my mom tomorrow on the process for seasoning clothespins and let you know. You'll have to let me know how the cookies turn out - I'm excited someone is trying the recipe!

katietopaz I meant to finish reading the thread cause I kinda figured my question has been answered but then I had to finish packing. On our way to Newark airport, only four more hours.😐 I'm gonna save that recipe and will be looking out for how to season the clothespins. I'd also be interested in the pm with your mom's tips!😊 And anecdote, my very masculine guy cousin loves making cheesecake. He even bought himself a Kitchenaid to use when he still lived with his parents who already had a mixer lol. And YAY settings for good scan! Have fun with your cupcakes. 😄

Fasting blood draw done and delicious orange drink consumed. I’ll be here for the next 3 hours. Yay. I should have brought my phone charger bc no way my phone is lasting through 3 hours of Netflix.

Good luck clementine! I have to go to a Christmas party for a realtor that my H does a lot of work for tonight. I hate having to be social with people I don't really know so I'm dreading it. I hope the food is good. I also think this baby finally moved up and off of my bladder a bit!! The past few nights I've only woken up to pee 1-2 times instead of 3-5 times which has been amazing!

Thanks! And holy moly, 3-5 times a night?! I shall no longer complain about getting up once to pee. I feel the same way as you about those kinds of social events. MH is pretty outgoing and can talk to anyone about anything, but I’m the opposite. I just cannot for the life of me come up with conversation topics or even basic small talk. I hope the food is good too so you can just stuff your face to avoid talking to anyone!

clementine , before I had my first I never used to wake up to pee in the MOTN. But ever since having her I usually wake up 1-2 x's a night so when I got pregnant this time, waking up 3-4 x's a night wasn't a huge surprise to me. But it's sooo nice to be back to 1-2 x's a night!

katietopaz, my brother is the best cook as an adult. And DS loooooves to bake cookies and make dinner with me! We sat at the breakfast table this morning and made our cookie list for the weekend, since its going to snow tomorrow. I'm kind of envious of everyone's holiday parties! DH's company doesn't include spouses, so he went to his earlier this week, and my work party was changed into a workday brunch this year. Womp. I don't have a single holiday party to go to!

Ugh when I got to work and used the bathroom **TMI** there was bloody mucus when I wiped and then some pink blood. I called my OB and am waiting for a nurse to call me back.
I just checked again and it's mostly gone but I'm still a little freaked out. We had sex last night so I'm hoping it's just from that.

cp3 It's very likely from that. Also, I've heard from some BTDT moms that your mucous plug (whole or parts of) can fall out and regrow alllllll the time, which apparently normal????????? But yeah, that's a thing that can happen. Huh.

But yeah, that's a thing that can happen. Huh. Oh wow I did not know that. With DD1 I didn't lose mine until a few days before she was born. And I had bleeding in that pregnancy but early on from a SCH which I was very grateful to avoid this time. Pregnancy is such a mindfuck.

Sugar bomb drink has been chugged. Holy cow I'm feeling that sugar rush, it's making me almost light-headed. This is just the one-hour test. Fingers crossed! clementine Good luck with yours today!! cp3 I agree with Rama - very likely due to sex. And I remember it happening with a few people on my first BMB where they lost part of their mucous plug early on and their OB said it wasn't a problem, your body just makes more. Pregnancy is weird.

Thanks guys! I’m done and now on my couch for the rest of the day because I’m apparently sick again. Just got over this cold or whatever after thanksgiving, but it’s baaaack. cp3 hopefully that’s all it is. Glad you called your OB though. I’d never heard that about the mucous plug! I’d for sure freak out with any blood too, but fx your OB doesn’t find any issues.

I'm sure they'll just have me monitor but she said they'll call within the next 4 hours which is annoying.
I'd like to skip ahead to March and her alrady being born. I hate this anxiety.
