wisco Thanks! It was lovely to see my old RE again. They used to have a sad, rundown looking office and everything is fancy now, so that was nice to see. He is going to run a repeat semenanalysis in their own andrology lab (they do it by eye under the microscope and check for specific morph, unlike the urologist who sent his samples to a lab where a machine measures it digitally). I'm glad because DH's first two SAs with the uro represented the way bottom end and the way high end of the spectrum, so we have no idea what to think really. If the SA numbers look good, we'll try another 3 cycles on our own in addition to our current cycle (for a total of 6 - although I'm under 35, this was his rec based on my history) before coming in for retesting for me and treatment. If any SA numbers are borderline, he'll repeat in a month and go from there. If anything is glaringly low, we'll jump into treatment. I'm feeling so happy. I know we're in great hands, and mostly I'm thrilled because my own research and intuition were telling me that we should move into treatment if we hit 6 months of trying without success, and that was the RE's own recommendation as well. DH is not thrilled about providing another sample (he finds it very stressful and embarrassing) but he also is happy to have a clear plan. So, either I'll be KU by early April or we'll go get some help! I forgot to ask if I come in for early bloodwork and u/s at their office if we do get a BFP (because of loss and ectopic history), or just wait for 8 weeks with the ob/gyn, so I may call and ask about it, or more likely, wait and see if it happens and then call very anxiously lol.

Thank you @obscurefence, ap21ril, and sunshiney! Surgery went well. The mass was an ectopic pregnancy in my left tube. RE tried to flush it out, but it wouldn't come out. She had to remove my left tube. She also found a right ovarian cyst that she removed/drained, and I also have very mild endometriosis. She talked to H very briefly about treatment options. Basically we can keep doing what we're doing and see what the right ovary does or we can do IVF.

sunshiney I'm so glad your appointment went well and that you're happy with the plan! That is so important. When is your H doing the SA?

Oh orangehibiscus I'm so sorry you had to lose a tube but that's great that they were able to at least figure out what that mass was.

orangehibiscus I'm so glad your surgery was safe and successful! I hope that treating the mild Endo makes a difference for you! It's a little tougher to get pregnant with one tube, but it happens all the time. TW pregnancy mentioned My BFF lost a tube to ectopic and got pregnant the diet cycle she could try after... And a friend from TCF got pregnant through her one tube when her only growing follicle was on the other side! Bodies are amazing. I was more for waiting until ovulation is clearly past (should be around Christmas) but DH is in a big rush to get the SA over with so we're going to abstain now for a couple days. I'll do OPKs and we'll get back to BDibg instead if it looks like I'm Oing a bit earlier unexpectedly.

Thank you sunshiney! I hope the RE taking the endo out helps too. I've heard of people being able to conceive on the side that the tube was removed from. I hope y'all can do the SA soon or that you O soon!

orangehibiscus I am so glad the surgery went well and that you have a definitive answer for what the mass was. I was worried they wouldn’t know. I’m sorry they had to remove your tube. When will you talk to your RE again? I hope all of this has cleared a path for your success!

Thank you obscureference! I will have a post-op phone call next week I think. It hasn't been scheduled yet though. I think she'll wait for the Pathology report to come back before deciding any treatment options for us. I'm not even sure how long recovery time is before we can TTC. She told us that we can't have sex for a week though because she had to dilate my cervix for the hysteroscopy.

Had my progesterone draw today. Pretty sure I O’d this time so I’m interested what my level is. Maybe we’ll actually learn something from this cycle! With the holiday I probably won’t know the results for a week though.

I hope your progesterone level confirms O obscureference! That sucks that you have to wait for the number. Can you call the lab later and ask for results over the phone?

I could probably call orangehibiscus, but I’m going to try and be chill for once lol. I’ve got enough going on for the rest of this week and next that I’m actually distracted! I’ve also decided not to test until next weekend which would put me way past CD1 because I just can’t deal with bad news on Christmas Day!

obscureference Wow you have untold willpower if you can wait to test past expected CD1!! I hope you get awesome news. Before Nexplanon and before previous IF treatments, my cycles were always somewhat irregular, with O on the late end of normal (typically CD17-20+). Once in 7 years I O'd on CD 13, once or twice on CD15. But last cycle was on CD15, and my temps (and boobs) tell me that I just O'd on CD14...I wonder if my overactive ovaries are calming down and settling in the way the RE said they would in my 30s. It would be awesome to O reliably at a typical time, makes those cycles TTC go faster!!! I'm glad we decided not to do the SA this week after all, because we would have missed O completely. Feeling very thankful that we dragged our tired a*ses up to DTD after a crazy busy Tues night lol!! But, I didn't do the dead fly pose for 10 min afterward, so now am convinced it will be a fail...so silly.

sunshiney Lol it’s not so much willpower as I just don’t like seeing negative tests. My LP is only 11-12 days and CD1 will be either the 26th or 27th. I can’t handle a negative on Christmas Day!

I hope you're starting to O on a reliable CD sunshiney! I'm glad y'all hit your FW! I hear you on not wanting to see negative tests obscureference! I have always been in the early testing camp, but now, I feel that waiting to test is the way to go. I couldn't handle a negative on Christmas either. I really hope this is it for you!

obscureference I hope you get awesome news after Christmas! I agree, seeing that stark white space is the worst. sunshiney glad you hit your fertile week! And at reasonable time too. orangehibiscus I'm so sorry about the tube, but I'm glad they were able to clear out the endo! As for me, I still have to go get my beta drawn, but did a urine pregnancy test this morning that was as negative as it could be. I just feel all this pressure now to make this next (and probably last) IUI work.

obscureference Thanks, but no, I’m 14 DPO today. I left to get my beta drawn right after posting that and am able to get into my lab results online and it’s <1.

Sorry ap21ril Testing this time of year is it’s own kind of cruel. I think I let my hopes escalate because getting a positive during the holidays would give me so much joy...

Tested this morning at 9dpo. Got a squinter on a cheapie so I headed to Walgreens for a FRER. The 19 year old check out dude told me, “I hope things turn out in your favor.” Isn’t there an unwritten rule that you shouldn’t comment on someone's drug store purchases? Ha! Got a second pink line about two minutes in! My head is already full of worry, but! Today I am pregnant! Can’t have betas drawn until Thursday.

TW Loss
Pathology confirmed 2cm ectopic in the left tube and ovarian cyst on the right. Follow up phone call with RE will be on Friday to talk about next steps.
I had a beta drawn today, and it was 0...finally! I'm so happy to have this over, and we can put all of this behind us as we look to what's next.
