I'm sorry obscureference! I was a poor responder to Femara. I would O around CD39 on 7.5 of Femara. My RE added in Follistim, and I O'd much earlier (I think CD21). Has your RE talked about injectibles?

orangehibiscus We haven’t talked about anything else yet. I used to O on my own around CD16 but it had been getting later and I was regularly O’ing around CD21. Last cycle, my first on Femara, my body tried to O around day 16 but failed and then I O’d my latest ever, CD23. I’m on 7.5 mg this cycle. I mean the meds aren’t increasing our chances that dramatically so I’m trying to still be realistic, but for them to do nothing and push O even later is very discouraging.

I just looked back at my charts obscureference. My first attempt with Femara (5mg) I O'd on CD19. The next two attempts with Femara (one with 5mg and Dexamethasone and the other with 7.5mg) I O'd on CD37-39. O'ing on those CDs isn't abnormal for me though with PCOS. I regularly had 60 day cycles for a while. Maybe your RE will want to add in Dexamethasone (helps Femara work better) or maybe try injectibles? When do you talk to your RE again? O'ing late is really discouraging. Hugs!

Thanks orangehibiscus. I’m not sure when I’ll talk to him. He usually just reviews each cycle and makes med adjustments which are then communicated to me through the nurse at my baseline. I will probably push to talk to him in a couple cycles. After all this is only my 2nd medicated cycle. I’m sure I just need to be more patient!

Gotcha obscureference. O'ing on CD23 with meds isn't "normal", but it isn't bad either. I hope you O really soon!

TW Beta and Loss
Welp...my beta today went up to 23. It was 17 last Thursday. I am going to my RE's tomorrow for an US and an appointment to finalize surgery plans and to figure out where we go from here.

So we just left the RE's office. Surgery is definitely scheduled for Monday. The RE did not do another US today. She said there was no point since my beta went up yesterday. During surgery she is going to basically do another HSG and check my tubes on the inside with the dye. Plan for future treatment cycles depends on what she finds during surgery (if anything).

orangehibiscus Well I am at least glad they can get you in so quickly for the surgery. Really hoping you get some answers from all of this!

I got a positive opk today so now I feel like a whiner because I was just complaining about it. CD17 O is at least back to my old normal. I’ll take it.

Thanks, ladies! IUI was uneventful this morning. And now...we wait! Again... orangehibiscus - I'll be thinking of you. Have you had surgery before? I found recovery not to be too terrible, and the Doc flushed out my tubes during surgery and felt more confident about our treatment steps going forward. Take care of yourself, and keep us updated! obscureference - I've never had luck with OPKs...so I get your frustration! I'm glad that things are working out! sunshiney & ap21ril - Anything new with you?!

wisco Just plugging along...DH asked me last night before BDing what CD it was, and I was like, CD7, does that impact what happens here tonight? He was like, no I just want to be supportive! We see the RE on Monday, I am feeling quite nervous about it, it's like, sh*t's getting real.... We had a long conversation this weekend about next steps, the possibility of foster parenting as a step before we'd move forward with attempting adoption...it felt good to both of us to have some of these conversations so, like DH said, if we get to that place we aren't stressed about discussing it because we've already opened up to each other and thought about it. We discussed that moving forward with IVF if it came to that isn't just a given, there are lots of reasons we might prefer the adoption route. A very different experience now with DH than it was with my ex all those years.

Nothing new w/ me, just waiting for beta Friday. I plan on testing tomorrow just to see if my trigger is out or not. Then most likely will test for real Thursday (or let's be honest, Wednesday haha).
