I usually give hallmark ones. Normally my nephew G gets Star Wars, nephew E gets Harry Potter, niece K gets a kitty one, nephew C gets whatever he's into that year, nephew K gets a video game inspired ones, and nephew J gets whatever he's into at the moment. I always get my mom all the Star Trek ones and my dad gets a John Deere one and the beer steins.

flamingo, you guys have a brio train, right? We are getting C some additional tracks and a new accessory for his. There are so many cool accessories, I want to go nuts!! I think I decided on the freight ship and crane.

wineallthetime love brio! The thing is, you can almost never have enough of these kind of toys! The more you have the more fun it becomes. We also have a Thomas train Christmas set, I think I got it Black Friday on amazon last year, such a steal.

I have Brio trains for the kids this year, too! They don't use the train table for trains, so I was hoping that some of these cooler pieces would entice them.

I hope this means he won’t outgrow trains next month 😜 My mom told me she ordered him some more track and the ‘adventure tunnel’ as part of his bday gift. I think we’re going to add one of the big bridges.

We got B the game UNO for his birthday and he LOVES it. It's so great for number recognition that isn't based on memorization.

I went to the mall yesterday and finished shopping for MH for his birthday and Christmas. I am happy to report I do not have to go back there. It gets so busy and I dislike people wandering in front of me when I have a plan. Where's your plan people!?

What are people doing for the kids school/DCP kids gifts? That's the next thing on my list. What should I put in a Christmas bag? Chocolates, puzzle, book?

vino, I was thinking of sewing little felt ornaments. Plus, a chocolate or 2, maybe something else. I need to look around at little toys and such that I can buy in bulk. (27 kids in her class)

For Canada day I got all the kids, at B's old daycare, a puzzle. Maybe I can find something Christmas/Holiday like that and add a Christmas chocolate and a fun card? I know B loves puzzles, would N13's like a wintery/Christmas puzzle?

Cute idea though, I don't think i have my shit together enough to make it happen though.

We got B the game UNO for his birthday and he LOVES it. It's so great for number recognition that isn't based on memorization. We recently pulled out my old uno cards and have been playing it (I changed some rules to make it easier to play, and we play it open where I can see his cards and help). He loves playing the "grown up" game. It's cute!

We have to get the kids at school gifts? Sorry this is our first year. We've been in DC since S was 3 months old and have never gotten anything from the other kids, nor have we given. I give to the teachers, and if I recall correctly the teachers do something small for the kids, but that's it. It's a sweet thought to do, but honestly, I don't want to add anything to my to do list at this time of year!

Anyone have any great white elephant gift ideas? $25 limit and we stick to nice gifts, not like junky gag gifts. The group is MH's cousins, all in their 20-30's. Most married or getting married with one single guy in the mix. In the past I've typically stuck with alcohol. Moscow mule mugs with the ingredients to make them, Kracken rum with scratch off lotto tickets, ect. This year I'm considering 2 big mugs, coffee and baileys. My gift doesn't have to be alcohol, that's just my go to! Any ideas?
