My work just threw a baby shower for me and I had a small piece of cake minus the frosting. It was SO sugary. I almost couldn't enjoy it. So weird.

My work just threw a baby shower for me and I had a small piece of cake minus the frosting. It was SO sugary. I almost couldn't enjoy it. So weird. I find a lot of bakery icing super sugary sweet even when I'm not counting carbs. I usually end up scraping off some of it if it is an edge piece and/or super thick. My increased glyburide is working, my fasting and post meal numbers are much better. I will be 37 weeks on Wednesday and at that point my hormone levels should be starting to drop so I should be out of the "danger zone" and possibly able to be more flexible with food choices. I'm starting to be concerned that Faith will spend some time in the NICU because of her glucose levels but I know I've done what I can and this isn't my "fault" even if that happens. I know odds are everything will be fine, but I like to worry over things. *shrug*

I’m sorry aprilz81. I sometimes worry about the same thing and I haven’t had numbers that my doctor or dietician have ever been concerned with. I think us mamas will just always worry until we know what’s going on.

aprilz81 I hope F will not have to spend time in the NICU. I would think if she did it would be a minor and quick stay. FX you won't have to deal with it at all.

I really wanted some ice cream, but my post dinner number was 142 and I have no idea why. I had an 8 oz steak, a super small baked potato and one roll. I took my meds with dinner as I normally do and a meal like this would typically be under 110. Can't wait to be done with this GD crap.

I just emailed my week 9 results to my dietician, and was diagnosed a week earlier so 10 weeks of knowing and dealing. I can’t believe it’s actually getting to be time when it felt so intimidating those first few days, and at 39 weeks tomorrow it’s crazy to think each test could be the last! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I told her at the very least I hope it’s my last check in with her haha.

Hey there. Today I had to do a 2 hour glucose with 4 lab draws to confirm that I no longer have diabetes. I'm just coming here to complain. That test made me feel like shit and I have had a headache all day from fasting.
Anyone else being retested?

sweetsurprise I have to be retested 6-8 weeks after birth. I’m nervous because I haven’t been keeping up with a better diet with having a newborn and I’ve noticed after eating some carb heavy foods I get a massive headache which is what the glucose drink does to me but my numbers even during pregnancy were well controlled so who knows.

I haven't kept up with the diet either. Sigh. Fingers crossed for all of us.

This is so interesting to me because my dr didn’t mention anything about retesting me. ETA: I hit post too quickly by accident. I will ask her about it when I have my iud placed on the 12th.
