Dd had her 9 month appointment today. She's in the 2nd percentile at 14 pounds. I was stressing because my not yet four month nephew is the same size as her and yesterday my mom asked if they were concerned with dwarfism (wtf mom?! Way to make me more anxious). Luckily I scheduled it with my fav doctor who said he wasn't going to bang on the 2% or numbers because she was perfect and just wants me to push more solid food. He made me feel much better about her being a little peanut. So anyone have good suggestions for healthy calorie dense baby food? She mostly does finger foods but I can get a few ounces of purée into her. I'm blanking and can only think of avocado. Tagging fellow peanut baby carrots and fellow caboose pibblemom

Lakes, some high-cal foods that A likes are: avocado, banana, eggs, sweet potato, cheese, yogurt, and as of yesterday, salmon!

Omg to your mom Lakes! M is still 8th percentile and was 15.5 pounds at 9 months and 1 week. M is super into yogurt right now which I feel like gets a good amount of fat into her. And scrambled eggs. It is getting a little comical to see her next to wayyyyy younger babies who are the same size but can't sit up when she's standing up!

Well no thank you to that comment Lakes! Jeez! B is all about the whole milk yogurt these days. His favorite kind is from Trader Joes - it's so thick it's almost like a pudding. (Good for spoon feeding!) It's 140 calories for 4oz, so pretty good.

Lakes E's party was perfect. The food was good the cake was wonderful the child entertainment was perfect. My only complaint was my friend's son was really annoying and wild during the entertainment of course my friend was not parenting.

Lakes sorry about your mom's comment. I was always so small and tiny my mom was always being asked about it. I didn't hit 40lbs until I was 11. She will always be tiny and cute I love it. People always think I am younger and I can still wear kids clothes which is cheaper.

When I hit 40 pounds, my mom basically had a party as if it was her greatest achievement of life. Then, about a week later, I got sick, and list like 3 pounds. My mom was devastated. And I didn't creep back up to 40 pounds again until 4th grade. Some kids are perfectly healthy, just small.

Lakes, sorry about the stupid comment from your mom! Some babies are just small. We had our 9 month checkup today, mine is not one of the small ones. She's 18.3 lbs and 28.25" 😳😳 she's 50th for weight and 75th for height, so she's probably going to be taller than me. C started officially crawling last night, and cruising is not far far behind. She pulls herself up on me in bed, and is attempting to from the floor. High fat foods besides avocado that she likes are everything under the sun. All meats, as long as she can gum them. Tried chicken, pork, beef and salmon. Scrambled eggs Yogurt& cheese (yay for getting past her dairy allergy!!) Sweet potatoes Peas Oatmeal (adult old fashioned) made with milk Any baby food blends as long as they're kind of thick. Cheerios, not nutrient dense, but she loves them. Since I haven't been around, here is my not-so-squish peaseblossom55, Happy Birthday E!!! I can't even believe we're talking about birthdays already! Where has the year gone??

I am so tired. There's a mountain of laundry to fold and I don't want to do I'm running away to the library. I think I'll put all the candy in the basement so mh eats it all and I'm not tempted. Oddly enough I don't really want it. Maybe all this healthy eating has detoxed me from straight up sugar. Normally I'd be all over these Reese's.

DD must have eaten nothing but candy at daycare yesterday. By the time we picked her up she was in rare form. 3 yr olds man... I tell ya. She could use some of your detox vibes Lakes!

Good morning ladies 😊 peaseblossom55 HBD to E! She is darling! And what a cutie pibblemom! We don't have our 9 month checkup for another week but my little chunk is over 18lb. She's so close to pulling up too! She was a little aerobics instructor for Halloween. Hope everyone is well!

Omg guys. Scariest day of my life today. I have seen rollovers, car fires, and head on accidents. I've seen people die as an EMT, a fatal motorcycle accident happen in front of me and people start fights so big that you don't know what's coming next. I've taken countless cpr classes and EMT-cert. There is absolutely NOTHING that can prepare you for the gut punch, helpless feeling of watching your baby have a seizure. I will have nightmares for days probably. C is fine now, but she started the day with a 102 fever, it went up to a 104 before we were able to get her to the drs. He ordered bloodwork, and we came home to rest and take Tylenol. Immediately after I gave it to her, her face went blank. She wouldn't respond, wouldn't move her eyes and I called 911. She turned a bit bluish before she came back around and I swear every ounce of training I've ever had went out the window. I've done cpr probably 10 times for real and countless times in classes, and I'm the go-to calm person in a stressful situation. If I needed it I'm glad to know that our 911 operators are there and competent enough to know that as parent in that situation everything is blank. That was THE SCARIEST moment of my life. I can tell 100 parents that they're not out of the ordinary with infant fevers, but to experience it myself is totally different. Anyhow, we're home and she's better. She's tired but back to her smiley self. All you mamas are all rock stars. I don't know how we do it. This To this To this And now she was all smiles before she fell back asleep.

pibblemom, I'm so sorry you and C went through that. There was no seizure, but over the summer, A had a fever of 105.7. So, so scary. The ER techs and docors did warn us that we might see a febrile seizure and that they are terrifying to watch, but don't have any last effects. the anticipation of that happening was scary as is. I can't imagine how I'd have felt if i actually saw it happen

Thank you guys. judyblume14, terrifying is the perfect description. I just keep seeing the blank face blue lips in my head. It was over pretty quickly and now I know what I'm looking at but I think the not knowing exactly whether she would pull out was the worst. Today I'm taking the day off work to snuggle her. I slept through a dose of Tylenol overnight (we are doing Tylenol/Motrin every 3 hrs) and by the time the dose of Motrin was due her fever was back to 101, so she still needs the meds. On a happy note she's started crawling, so I immediately can tell when she's feeling better because she goes from laying around to alllll over.
