+1 to dilation meaning nothing. I was told my fort Knox cervix was high, hard, and posterior last time at 36 weeks. My water broke the next day and I was dilated when I got to triage.
Says the woman who's currently irritated about not being dilated yet.

My husband took the kids on the field with him 2 hours ago. I got a nap in, now watching Netflix and folding laundry.
I forgot my son doesn't have school tomorrow so I casually hinted to my MIL that maybe she wants to take them for night and I can pick them up after my doctors appt tomorrow. Hoping she says yes! Y

The heartburn is UNREAL today. I am certain I could breathe fire if necessary. It is even making my ears hurt. I need a nap. Oh no, I'm sorry. what have you taken? Prisolec is the only thing that works for me. Just Tums and about 47 kajillion gallons of water. It is actually ok right now so I'm afraid to eat anything. I'm going to ask my OB about it tomorrow if I remember.

UPDATE: They did some type of swab test that needed to be sent to a lab to verify. It took about an hour. Results were negative for amniotic fluid, so they sent me home after the steroid shot and some blood work. The nurse kept mentioning Wednesday like the possibility of me making it that far is still on the table. 3cm seems like a lot to me, though. However, I don't think I dilated at all with my other two until I was already admitted to L&D. I called off work for tonight and the weekend, so now we just wait while also frantically scurrying around to make sure things are done. Thank you all so much for checking in on me!💓 I’m not sure about your cervix, but mine can hold on at 3cm for at least a week if not longer. You have to make it to Sunday for your mom, right? She was originally going to come on Sunday, but is now on high alert to come whenever I call. It's a 9-10 hour drive, though. I don't dilate before my water breaks, so I'm feeling very #new. Thanks for all of the positive anecdotes!

My belly keeps tightening but I think it is just the baby moving and stretching, not contractions. Like trying to climb out of me.

I have no idea if I dilated before my water broke last time. I don't remember if she checked at my appt, which was less than 24 hours before water breaking. I have a really bad memory lol.

I only know because I went into L&D a few time before I was admitted with both due to persistent contractions and they always sent me home because I was like .5cm if that.

I'm no help either - no check at my Friday appointment before my water broke Sunday AM. I was 4 cm dialated when I got to the hospital an hour or so post water breaking.

how much can a pregnant lady cry in one day? Answer: a lot apparently.
I hate this stage of pregnancy. I only get this way at the end. My son (5) is currently throwing an epic meltdown (which I'm ignoring) because my FIL and MIL are coming over in half an hour to watch the kids while I go out with friends. Screaming he hates babysitters. It's your freaking grandparents who you spend at least 3 days a week with. Get over it. I wouldn't really care but I feel a bit bad that my FIL is coming over first (for half an hour until MIL is done work) and he isn't sure how to handle him when he gets like this. Not that I do either....
It's one evening. And like half an hour before bedtime. I never go out. Like ever. I need a break before I break.

I only know because I burst into tears after leaving my appointment. It's tough to have six weeks of painful, consistent contractions and be told they're not doing jack shit. And she literally used the term Fort Knox because I was that high, closed, and completely posterior.

Both kids are sleeping. I'm so exhausted from crying all day I should really just stay home and sleep. It's only 7:30. But dang it. I want wings. And cheesecake. I'm going out. I'll regret it tomorrow but I'm going out.

My ILs are being absurdly extra tonight and even DH is eyerolling. They called several times, left voicemail, and sent text messages while we were doing one last bath time/bedtime routine with DD before her brother arrives. They want us to try and find some time to bring DD over to their house tomorrow so she can see MH's uncle. She does not need to see his uncle. They don't even make a fuss over DH seeing him when he's in town, so this weird need to show off their grandchild is frustrating.
"Sorry, we're dropping her off at day care for a few hours, then picking her up for a last lunch as a family of three before she goes to her other grandparents for a few days!"
"Well instead of daycare, can she come over here?"
"It's the other boy's last day so they're having a party."
"What about after your lunch?"
"She's packing her bags and being picked up."
"When is she being picked up?"
STOP IT. THERE IS NO TIME. STOP. Please just let our last day as a family of three be about us.
It's bad enough that DH and I are going over there on Saturday when I could get a call any time about going in to the hospital. I seriously hope they call me at 7 AM.

Today was a day. Patient's partner spent the better part of the day yelling at me, the doctors and everyone about how incompetent we are, how he wants to take his son to a real hospital etc etc. Like dude, STFU and let me do my job.

I may have melted our munchkin formula dispensers while frantically sterilizing bottles. Whoops.

Particularly intense BH tonight. 3 minutes apart, 45 seconds to a minute long, dull crampiness in between them. I am not impressed. Send my uterus calming vibes, because I super duper need it to chill. I mean, it's cool if my cervix wants to dilate a bit before Saturday. I'd be down with that. But I really need to do all you can eat sushi tomorrow night.

We had a lot of fun with selfies last night. DD is a big fan of dictating how we should take them and what we should be doing.
*poof*

I had a contraction that doubled me over. Holy potatoes. Everything after it has been mild and radiating into my hip bones. I really wish my uterus would just make a decision.

I think the really painful ones for me have been because the baby is so low on space, so when everything contracts, sometimes he has a limb sticking out somewhere that causes the pain? I'm sticking with that for now.

So glad I went out with friends. Met some great new people. Enjoyed my treats. And my MIL who babysat cleaned my house and folded my laundry which I absolutely hate doing which is why the pile had gotten so big.

Growth scan went well, I'll have to wait to hear anything. It was fun to see her squishy little face. They did tell me my fluid levels were normal so that was reassuring. And she's weighing in at 5lbs 8oz.

I cannot keep up with the sick happening over here. DS2 vs amoxicillin is nasty and just mean. My poor bubby. DS3 is fairing a bit better, but is nursing all the time.
Today I realized that when I was about this far along with DS3, both boys got sick then too. I had to 911 call MIL to come over so she could help me clean up after 2 sick kids all over everywhere and everyone.
Apparently my kids get really sick before welcoming a new sibling. So that is neat.
