Oh I always lie about alcohol when I asked. Always. "How many drinks do you have a week?" Oh, um... 3. I want to be honest. But I think that one night a year where I drank a couple of drinks and haven't really drank since should be okay and shouldn't get a lecture. Yeah, that's ridiculous.

guster what happens on a lockout? They send everybody home? Lockout means that everybody can continue about their day, doors are locked when class is in session, but no one leaves the building and no one comes in. Teachers are posted at exits on their free periods as extra security. During a lockdown, which means there is a more severe and imminent threat either in or outside of the building, everyone stays in whatever classroom they happen to be in when the lockdown is announced. You take shelter in whatever corner of your classroom is farthest away from the doors and windows. That one is terrifying, even as a drill.

Thanks for the commiseration! Josie was physical, but I can't keep my eyes off of this boy. I know s big piece of it is that he has to keep up with Josie, but he never stops moving. You'd think with all that moving he'd at least take a nice long nap for you every day!! He moved his naptime. He just stop napping in the morning, so now I rush home like a crazy person from preschool and pop him in his crib and he sleeps until we have to leave. It's only an hour and a half, but I know he would go a lot longer if I didn't have to wake him up to go pick Josie up. At least it's an app. And I get an hour and a half to take care of anything I need to do in the house without him underfoot. ETA: except for today, while he sitting on my lap watching the signing time.

Hi girls, sorry I was a little mia yesterday. This work/family/building thing while trying to breathe is getting the better of me! We’re finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel, but is going to take longer than expected unfortunately. We are here for you if you need to vent. Thanks, it’s just really boring stuff, things being made different, delays, builders that treat you like you are a 6yo unless you show up with your dad etc. Plus I had the stupid idea in my head that I wanted celebrate ds’ birthday and leave for ds’ first day of school in/from my own house, with my own family, and not from my parents house. I know this is a fwp and childish, but I want to have the lead in this and if we are in my parents house (whit my parents) they’ll have a big part in it. I love my parents to death, just to be clear, but it makes things different.

Hi! Sorry I've been MIA. Our director has been hovering all week and it's not easy for me to be on here at work. I've been able to keep up mostly, but never get around to posting. I'm feeling weird and queasy today. I hope the stomach bug isn't coming back. Hope J's fever doesn't spike guster. I hope it's just normal and not an issue tgrimes. Safe travels slenle

guster that sounds scary and stressful. It is. And now as a stay at home mom who is still connected to the district MH works in (because I'm technically still on maternity leave), I get text messages and emails alerting me to things like lockouts and lockdowns and drills, and 45 minutes away it makes me feel so helpless and anxious.

Funny, but not funny story. Somewhere around 2006, we went into lockdown for almost 3 hours. We have these big glass windows in the hallways of the school and it look like somebody shot the glass the way it had shattered out in a circle. Turns out, one of the kids dismantled a computer mouse, took the ball out, and threw it against the window. Kids are dismissed, and we were called into a faculty meeting to discuss what had happened. One of the older science teachers, who has since retired, kept screaming, " Mouse ball! What is a mouse ball?" She just couldn't separate the idea of the computer and the animal. At least it added a little lightness the end of that day.

Thanks for the good wishes for Josie. She was still at a nice solid 99 when we left for school so big dose of Motrin and off she went. I leave to pick her up in a half an hour, so I'm hoping she exhausted herself, and it'll be an early bedtime for her!

There are so many things that Charlie does that make me feel like a brand new parent: - he immediately takes his diaper off if he doesn't have pants on. -if he gets into the bathroom, he flushes the toilet multiple times and pulls the toilet paper off the roll -he climbs up onto the couch and sprints from one question to another (usually resulting in a fall on his part, or sometimes on mine while I try to catch him) - he immediately opens any cabinet or toybox he has access to and empties it of everything. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that Josie did none of these things. I think the first time she flushed the toilet was when we started potty training in January. Had it so easy, and I only sort of knew. ditto. I barely childproofed for S b/c he listened so well and didn't really get into much. every 2 minutes I am pulling B away from the TV, pulling him off of something he climbed up on, pulling him away from trying to turn on the stove. He is much more adventurous than S was at that age. And more mischievous. It must be a second child thing. Evie does all of those things too!

The nurse took me back for my vitals. Apparently if you drink more then 4 drinks a day one day a year your an alcoholic. I want to be honest with them but if they are going to keep printing out this stuff I'm going to stop being honest. that is ridiculous!

I want to be honest with them but if they are going to keep printing out this stuff I'm going to stop being honest. Have they never hosted a holiday dinner for extended family? Because drinking 4 drinks is pretty tame. ETA: Just in case it's not clear, I was being TIC. And to be honest, I'd probably fall down around drink #3 these days.

But if I said 1-2 (my dad said 2 a day......oh.......sure), they'd probably think it was more like 2-3.
