I hav a theme in mind - under the sea and I bought some whale curtains. That’s as far as I’ve gotten. Right now the nursery is the playroom and I’m dreading having to put all of those toys somewhere else

My theme is girly faux hunting lodge. Lots of florals and crochet taxidermy. In my little collage, that's the crib and crib sheets we got on top. The room we're using has a built-in desk which we're going to cover with the wallpaper in the bottom left of the picture. We already have a dresser we're going to paint the color of that table and the walls will be the peach on the bottom right. Then I have all of the crochet taxidermy animals I've made so far. I think I just need to find a growth chart I love and pick out a name sign. I'll post pictures once we actually finish it...in like five months.

I'm actually a little concerned it's too much color. I tried to talk my H into a more neutral wall color but he said that was boring for a little girl's room. I don't disagree but I'm nervous about the end result so any options are appreciated.

Not fully planned here, but that's mostly because there's so much stuff in the prospective space, it's hard to visualize.
I don't think we're going to have a specific nursery theme, but we're kinda working on penguins (WHICH ARE HELLA HARD APPARENTLY) and Totoro/Ghibli stuff for a general theme. Might paint an accent wall something like yellow or grey or green (but leaning yellow), but that sounds like a lot of work and I'm not going to get a chance before third tri hits. We'll see how much family wants to make it happen, hahaha. (It's a lot something my mom is excited for.)
Basically, I live in a "gloomy" place, so I want the nursery to be somewhere I can be calm and happy when I have to tiredly drag myself out of bed to deal with baby in the middle of the night.

No plans yet because we don't know what this baby is yet. The baby will be going into the room DD is now which is super girly. She will be moving into the guest room and the bed in there will be moved into the office. So right now my planning is focused on DD's big girl room but I am struggling finding the energy to move the rooms around.

Love it cornpop! That’s going to be adorable. I don’t think it will be too much color with the crib being neutral. If you’re worried about it, you could always paint the dresser a more neutral color. And those animals!! I am so impressed that you made those!

I don't disagree but I'm nervous about the end result so any options are appreciated. I am a self proclaimed colour lover so I’m certainly biased but it doesn’t look too much to me. I still prescribe to the idea that having bits of black places (in a frame or something) grounds it and I always go big colour with white accents. I think you have lots of white pieces and it will be lovely

I've been envisioning a Charley Harper theme. I'd like to keep it GN whether we decide to find out or not, thinking a light, warm yellow. My ILs have a huge collection of his work because I guess H's parents were his neighbors. This is a good example of his work: I have big dreams of making this quilt, but it likely won't be completed until baby is older. I'm just making one for my 2yo now - wasn't ready to give him such a thick blanket before.

Team no theme here, but after I move my kids into sharing a room and the nursery is open again, I want to move a lot of M's decor into her new room, so I'll want to redo a good bit in the nursery.
The current curtains are dusty pink with stripes and birds, and they're leftover from an old cotton shower curtain my mom saved from like 30 years ago. Hah! They've served M well, but I need something new.

I never did anything for DS’s room because we coslept and he was neverrr in there. It’s still looking crazy if I’m honest. I don’t plan to do anything for this baby outside of getting a bigger dresser because they’ll be sharing a room. MOTY over here.

I love your nursery ideas and I don't think it's too colorful at all! The crochet taxidermy things are too cute 😍
We don't know what we're having yet, but I'm pretty sure we're going to be moving our son into a bigger room and moving the baby into his old room. I think we'll move all the pictures and the crib along with DS but I'll keep the same wall color (Benjamin Moore palladian blue). I'm thinking of doing a floral theme if it's a girl, or maybe a chick theme (yellow accents) either way. I'm going to get a Jenny Lind crib and pick some colorful bedding since DS's stuff was all black and white.
I'm more excited about planning DS's new room because it's more of a blank slate!

Can some one come over and tell me which room makes a better nursery? With DD I had a theme and plan and it was pretty much done around 35 weeks.
I want to do something different than DD’s room but the colors will have to stay mostly red, white, and grey because of our baby furniture. Most of the accents will stay in DD’s current room and I just have zero motivation/inspiration.

We’re waiting to find out the gender before we get really into nursery planning but I have a few ideas. We painted the room gray last year and I *said* it would be fine for a nursery but now I’m feeling like the gray is too dark. I’m sure MH will love it if I ask to repaint. The crib are dresser are a white wash sort of stain. I’m thinking peach or blush with gold and floral accents for a girl. For a boy, I definitely like navy but I’m not really sure where to go from there. I do know that I am in love with the wall decor made by this woman in MN. They are $$$ but I’m hoping to find a piece that will match the nursery colors. baileybuilds.comShe’s on IG as annabaileying if you want to check out more pieces.

We have our anatomy scan tomorrow!! I feel like once we find out the sex of the baby I will start getting more into nursery planning.
I waffle between I want to go crazy and trying to be practical. Lol. It's a daily struggle.
We currently have 2 dressers, a nightstand, and a twin bed in the nursery. I am planning on those things staying and adding a crib and a changing topper to the one dresser. We have been offered a crib from a family member and I need to check it out and decide if I want to use it. The biggest thing I have decided is that I want to paint the furniture navy blue. Then I will decide on accent colors. The walls are currently "fresh linen" which is a coooler beige/yellow color. I really don't want to paint but I could see us doing a decal or DH painting something on at least one wall. We also have a little white ceramic giraffe and a grey elephant so I feel obligated to maybe build a "theme" around them. Or maybe just have no real theme at all. I have no idea!!

We also have buttery yellow walls right now that I am not crazy about it, but are very neutral if we do nothing and definitely something I can live with. I really like that palladian blue mentioned by mintyblueair so maybe we'll try that. Shooting for something gender neutral and then I'll throw pink accents in for girl and probably brown or navy blue for boy. I have this really neat piece of yarn art that we bought over the summer and I think that'll work nice on the wall. Definitely the main priority is to paint before baby arrives. We are also installing new blackout blinds that are costing a small fortune, but hoping it will equal quality sleep eventually.

Since I can't plan a nursery yet this is what I have for DD's room so far. She wants to paint the room yellow so I'm thinking a soft yellow like this with the white rail bed. I also want to do a reading nook in the corner and got this pink chair on clearance for Target. I still need to pick out dressers, bedding, curtains, and wall decor. She's obsessed with moons right now so I got her a moon night light but that's it.

mirabelle I was looking at blackout blinds tonight. When we moved into this house, my daughter was a good enough sleeper that we didn't need to do them. But yeah, I feel like setting this baby up for success is a good idea...

Ah yes, we are definitely getting blinds for the nursery. And while we're at it probably getting them for the front bedroom and the den as well. Knock it all out at once.

My DH is just finishing doing a massive remodel and he asked if I was going to make him paint the nursery because he doesn't know if he has it in him. After DD#2 we went purple and white lace with antique furniture. So our little boy might have a sweet purple and lace nursery. I'm sure he'll paint it last min to just some blue. No theme though. Since I'm putting the girls together I'm more planning their room like cp3

The guest bedroom is already painted gray (Revere Pewter) with white trim, so I'll keep it. Accent colors will be multicolor florals and coral. I'm getting these canvases to hang over the crib and changing table (her name will be Flora Joy)

Sorry those are so huge!
Anyway, I didn't think I wanted to get the nursery started, but now I'm thinking I might like to get going soon. The full size bed that is in there now is going to become DS's, and he has long outgrown his toddler bed, so it might be nice to move that over now. Bonus: that means my ILs would have to get a hotel room over Thanksgiving......hmmm......

I'm currently trying to figure out how to merge two rooms into one. For our daughter's nursery, we painted it grey & did a lot of white, navy & pink with owls. (Some pictures spoilered below). I think I'm going to do similar, but add in an aqua in later on or add in a little more pink. I'm browsing Pinterest now for inspiration.

Waiting till we find out gender to fully plan nursery. ✅ Painted the room grey last year in preparation for nursery. ✅ But now feel like it's too dark. ✅ My ideas for colours for each gender are mostly the same. Lol Sooo... Room is grey, would be adding some navy and coral and gold and floral for a girl. Original idea for boy had been adding navy and red and white and doing a patriotic theme. I'm kinda meh on that now cause is rather go modern than vintage. This pic is my current inspiration for a boy room, basically the same as for a girl, but minus the floral and coral. looking at it now there's a lot of details I'm not into, but mostly I like the navy wall, white furniture and brass accents.
