Am I the only one who schedules outings for my dh and LO when they have a daddy/son day so they don't just watch tv all day?

PW today/
I’m sitting in the dr office waiting for them to call me back. I’m amazed at some people’s parenting style. I try not to be judgy...but....there is a couple in here who’s 2 kids are terrorizing the place. They are running circles everywhere, they have told them to stop 106x with no consequences, the youngest (2.5 ish) has helped himself to another little girls snack, then grabbed the phone out of another strangers lap. That mom was plying on the fake smile when I could tell she was really wanting to say “do something about your heathen children”All the while the Dad played games on his phone and the mom was looking at a magazine. Now I realize I am probably the extreme opposite and don’t give S as many freedoms to wander, etc when we are out and about (but that’s mostly a safety issue because she has no concept of her surroundings most of the time and her spacial awareness is non existent). I guess I’m shock that people let their kids bother strangers in an office and don’t do anything about it.
Ugh...that was sooo judgy...I’m the worst!

lfig, exactly! I was gone one night and DH had to make dinner with both kids around. I came home and they were playing quietly, music was playing, DH was cooking with beer in hand. I felt like I walked into an alternate universe. It's always chaos when I'm trying to make dinner!

Oh my I almost forgot to share the best part about today; MH went back to work!!!!eleventy!!!!! Yay!! In opposite news for me...MH’s detail at work is ending and he will be returning to our local office starting Friday. The same building as me. It works better when we don’t have so see each other day in and out. FX he gets the job permanently and he will change offices again come January or so!

Cute tgrimes! Is it weird that they used a Let it Snow background in TX? Either way, they are adorable!

slenle & trtlcrzy LOL. I didn't think anything of it. That's funny. Maybe the photographer was trying to be ironic.

Man that sucks... cagoldi bring on the tmi, seriously what category is ever really tmi here 😉? Hope the fire doesn't spread. Holland is quite boring nature/climate wise, but because of that we almost never have something disastrous happening. inthekitty that field trip sounds ridiculous. wineallthetime glad you're doing better today, that it easy.

I love being asked questions on conference calls and not be able to get a moment to answer.

Dh is home with the kids every Thursday and I have to give Dh credit for the fact that he takes both kids everywhere. Like me, he gets cabin fever bad when he has both of them inside the whole day.

Such cute photos tgrimes! Lol lfig, totally not judgy. The only people who are never annoyed by situations like that are people who let their kids do that. chrisy01 I suggest activities/events if I know there is a special event happening, but otherwise I don't bother because I'd be annoyed if I mentioned several things and MH ended up doing nothing. I also mention the event in front of the kids so they'll be sure to hound him about going. Last school year it was all I could do to not go crazy on MH when I was at a point where I was already at my limit and he was saying that since we don't go swimming at the Y as much maybe I could start taking them in the evening. I gave him a dead-eye stare like "are you effing kidding me?" I don't need more going on in my evenings, when you have all day while I'm at work you can take them there. At that point I was already taking them once a week without him and he was taking them 0 times a week. But sure, why not have me do more? I'm only working 2 jobs and doing the majority of the housework. *it's a day of eye rolls for me*

I just ordered cupcakes for Josie's preschool birthday party. Just an in class cupcake thing, but look how cute they are. ETA: she still wants our family and friends party to be Josie's lemonade stand, but I might push for a unicorn themed one because I think this could be an adorable cake

vino, poor B! cagoldi, ten weeks?! Wow. lfig, I'd be judging right there with you. Invading personal space and taking other people's possessions is not acceptable. Be safe, Cali peeps! Hi all. Staying busy over here. S had school pictures today, and she was half a pretzel away from a full on meltdown, but she pulled herself together, and I think it turned out pretty well. A friend put me in her online pampered chef party, and the consultant keeps posting every five minutes or so. No, I don't want to play two truths and a lie, autofill games, etc. I just want a couple kitchen scrapers. I'm tempted to offer to buy more if she'll stop.

So DH has been warming up to the idea of finishing our basement soon-ish. When we bought our house 2 years ago it was like a 10 year plan but we've been tossing it around more lately. He told me to draw up some plans and I think he's getting close to saying yes! But who knows what that means.. it could still be a year.
So I've been spiraling on pinterest and a design app coming up with layouts. He actually has an opinion (unlike with the mudroom) and has realized how quickly things might add up. But I think if we get the basics done- Electrical, drywall and carpet, we can slowly DIY the other things over time.

We haven't done anything but cosmetic stuff since the summer I was pregnant with Josie. What other kinds of things are you thinking about?
