lfig, I feel like your situation is a little different. While I think S should get to go to the party and most people wouldn't mind if someone other than a parent brought a child I would make sure you are comfortable with the sitter in emergency situations. Does she know what to do if S has one of her seizures, etc. I would assume she does, since she is your babysitter and you probably trained her in all of that, but out and about is different than in your home. Just make sure you are completely comfortable with it. If you are, then hey, let her go have some birthday party fun! Yes, this sitter has been with us since S was 6 months old. And before the day care opened in town she watched her full time. She often takes her to the park or other places. I even told her if she has errands to run for herself to feel free to do so, you know, Walmart trips, grocery store, etc. she is also about to graduate from nursing school (I’m going to cry when she gets a real job and can’t be our “go to” anymore). So she is fully trusted and understands the complexity of Sierra’s medical and developmental limitations.

Yikes tgrimes! Look at the silver lining...you are less likely to get it too if your not there snuggling her. Every time S gets it, I snuggle her, give her kisses and hugs, then end up puking too a few hours later. vino that breaks my heart. B is such a sweetheart. I hope he soon forgets about all of that!

Thanks for the input everyone! I am team send S to the party with the babysitter. MH is team “that’s weird”. The babysitter doesn’t care. She seriously is the best, and would totally enjoy doing that. It’s going to be a long day for them also, babysitter will have S from 8am till probably 10pm. So I figured it will help break up the day also. And I know my friend/the host would not care and love to see S there. I’m just sad that I can’t attend also.

LO is at school. He didn't even want to say goodbye to me today. It made me a little sad. But I have yet to cry the past two days.

My mom is going to swing by my house around lunch today, so I don't have to run home. This makes me happy that I can hopefully get back into a normal routine of the gym with her help. I know she annoys the shit out of my H, but not driving 20 minutes home and back, plus going to the gym, will make me feel a little more like normal.
I also accidentally kicked my husbands bad foot this morning, while I was rushing trying to get everything ready, so I feel super shitty about that.

vino that hurts my heart. Poor B. chrisy01 I’m so glad he loves it! How are you feeling? And cagoldi, how are you feeling too? tgrimes puke is the worst. Sending wine. Nothing much here. The big boys are on fall break, so we got to sleep in a little, and I have to take ryland to school in a bit. Then we have the gym and errands. I need to go to Home Depot so I can finish painting today and I also want to get some big flower pots and plants for our front yard.

@trtlcrazy, we woke up to frost too. N asked if it snowed. I'm so not ready for winter! It was 90 degrees like 2 weeks ago.
I got the flu shot yesterday with H. I've never had such a sore arm after the flu shot! I couldn't row this morning because of it so I ran instead. H had his 18 month appt yesterday. He has dropped to 9th %ile in height. Poor little shorty. ha. DH's mom's side is suuuuuper short, so I think he may have taken after them.

vino, dang, that is heart breaking. I'm so glad your sweet boy is going somewhere else. Don't beat yourself up over it. As soon as you knew there was something wrong you acted on it. tgrimes *eye roll* men. I hope M feels better soon. It's hard to not be able to cuddle them when they're sick. lfig I'm fully team let the sitter take her to the party. I wouldn't think anything of it as a host and would be so busy hosting I probably wouldn't have time to visit with parents anyway.

Cass was sick yesterday. She's been complaining about not feeling well on and off for several days and then seeming like she's okay, but yesterday there was no question she was sick. I was up with her most of Sunday night but last night MH said she actually got some sleep. Hopefully she's well enough for preschool since it's only a few hours and it's picture day.
I'm taking tomorrow off to join Maddie on her field trip to the pumpkin patch. Yesterday the teacher sent home 8 pages of instructions for chaperones including specific discussion points and questions to ask the kids at each station. She expects them to fill out a journal and take notes...they're 5. Most of them can only do basic writing. It also mentioned they can draw pictures if they need to. In what planet is note-taking a skill that needs to be developed for kindergartners? *major eye roll*

WWN13 do?... One of my good friends has a daughter Sierra’s age. She’s turning 4 at the end of this month. We got invited to the birthday party, which is a kid party, not family/friends party. MH and I have something going on that day so our babysitter will have S that day. Would you have the babysitter take your kid to the party or skip it? MH and I have opposite feelings on this. I would allow the sitter to take Sierra, but let the host know that she will be bringing her instead of your or your H since you have previous plans. As the host, I would just want all kids invited to show up, if possible. This. Dude had a birthday party to attend when we were out of town and we arranged it so one if my sisters would take him. I let the mom know and nobody seemed to think anything of it.
