I have a killer migraine. I have my nephew because my brother hurt his back and sil took him to the ER. My mom asked me to work for my dad's company full time so they can expand it.. I definitely would not work for your dad until you are in your own house. That sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I will say that some people can work for their parents with zero issues. My friend is the office manager for her dad’s dental office and it works great for them. He pretty much just sees patients and lets her do what she wants though.

There is so much in this post. Could you work for your family? I feel like it would be very difficult. I know. This day has been something else. I would be working from home, and they will provide everything I need to do that. That would be a pay raise, more flexibility, and more paid vacation. Right now they have three employees and it's about 8 hours of work a week to maintain everything for those employees. But they are dispatching themselves and we're only doing the final paperwork. He has eight more drivers he wants to sign, and we would be doing the dispatching for those drivers. So it would fill a full 40 Hour Work Week. I have no idea if I could do it. We're not making a decision right away, we're waiting until I get either an offer or a severance letter from my current job. We should know by the end of the month. My mom said we can start on a trial basis and if it doesn't work out I don't have to stay.

He pretty much just sees patients and lets her do what she wants though. This is pretty much what it would be. My dad would continue to dispatch himself and I will just do his paperwork. But I would run his other employees on a full-time basis

I mean it's everything I've been wanting logisticly. It's the frexibility I need, pay raise, and it's challenging. I would be able to put the boys on/off the bus for school in the future, or take them. I could be active in their schools. Dh and I can't really find a down side. Idk. It's going to keep me up at night until I get an offer/severance. Lol.

peachsmama minus the working for family part, it sounds ideal. And like others said, some people can handle working for family. A trial can’t hurt!

I decided to paint the boys bathroom after I dropped dh off at the airport. I’m regretting this decision.

yummeecookee Lyme disease is terrifying to me. It’s seems like there are so many unknowns and such a huge spectrum. I’m sorry your dh is dealing with it.

I do think some of the things youve mentioned in the past could make it difficult for you to work with your dad, but I was really talking about me. I would never work for my family. I don't ever want to mix anything that is financial with family, but I'm thinking of my extended family. I don't know if I could have worked for ny parents. There are some significant benefits that you listed-- A trial basis sounds like the right idea.

Peach, I can't imagine living and working with my parents full time and I have zero issues with my parents really. I'd thread lightly. Of course, you won't be living with tjem forever.

So instead of calling her brother and letting him in on the funeral details, SIL decided to just post it on FB. So then FIL called mh like an hour later. Wtf? Not cool.

So if I don't do it, they're not expanding the business. I'm worried about just losing myself in working from home with no real escape. I would have to make a real effort to get out on a normal basis to keep myself from going stir crazy.

By the time I would be working for them full time we would be in our house most likely. And if we weren't, they're both gone all day. So it wouldn't be much face time.

Mh says she has turned it into being all about her. Get together after the viewing and funeral at her place so she can "show off" her house and such. Not my words, his. They don't have the best relationship so it's an uncomfortable situation.

It took me almost an hour to get from DT Fullerton to my house. One of my friends just got to her house in Corona after it took her 4.5 hours to drive from Fullerton. Yikes.

He's still learning to wipe. I think since he stop going potty all together at his old DC he hasn't had much chance to wipe all by himself. Yes I'm going to work. Traffic to preschool this afternoon wasn't too bad but horrible in the way home. I don't know how tomorrow mornings going to be. Two of my friends got evacuated and my cousin's husband's work is shut down because of it. Keeping an eye on a few other people. I might have a house guest if the fire doesn't get under control.
