I’m super jealous too! I’m saving as much of my time as possible for when the baby is born, but I’m feeling SO done with work. Just about 3 more weeks for me too! I'm lucky in that California allows pregnancy disability up to 4 weeks before the due date, and it doesn't count against me afterward. But I know that is rare! My employer usually only allows 2 weeks before but my OB wrote my off early. I'm very thankful. Same in NJ with the 4 weeks before. I'm only taking 2 to minimize my time at 66% pay. Every morning I wake up thinking about how nice it would be to have those extra 2 weeks though lol

This morning I realized that I should always shower first thing in the morning - just in case my water breaks. Do not want to go into labor already feeling gross. Um, yes. I can attest to this from experience. When my water broke, I hadn't showered recently enough and I went to bed saying "I will do it first thing tomorrow." Then my water broke at 3 am. But, I was a hot sweaty puking mess throughout labor any way, so those first pics with baby wouldn't exactly have been cute regardless. [ For me, the issue is that i'm pretty sure they will want me to get to the hospital asap after/if my water breaks ... and I am one of those people who feels gross if I haven't washed (with water) my hair that day. I know there's dry shampoo, but not the same.

Understood. Any time I take will overlap with my sick/vacation pay so the first 5-6 weeks will be full pay then the 66% which is part of why I'm not taking 4 weeks before. Fortunately I got a raise this year so my 66% will be like it was prior to that lol

Next week is my baby item prep week. Going to get out the infant seat, install the base in my car, wash the cover and readjust all of the belts back to infant size. Taking down the newborn clothes and items, washing clothes, cleaning bottles, organizing the dresser. I need to find all of my nursing tanks too so I can pack a few for the hospital. All of a sudden November is really soon! I did finally get my guest room cleaned out so at least someone can sleep in there when staying with my son while I'm in the hospital.

So...uh...my bile numbers just came in from last Thursday's blood draw. They are at 72, which puts me super close the the severe ICP threshold. My induction has been moved up from Nov 1 to Oct 25. I'm buggin just a smidge.

Holy moly AnnPerkins! Sorry the numbers went up. But it is kind of exciting that baby will be be there so soon! And before Halloween even. As for the no showering, I think it was two-fold...risk of infection but also making it more difficult to test to see if it is amniotic fluid or not. Which I suppose isn't such an issue for everyone. I just remember the on-call nurse about jumping through the phone when I asked if I could shower before going in.

But since I was just going to use some of the extra the office had on hand instead of ordering a whole new vial for one shot, I'll still call it a win since I would have used all of MY Makena.

I ordered Torani pumpkin spice syrup from EBay. I knew it existed but Amazon didn't have it. I needed it for homemade PSLs. It just shipped and I am very excited!

That's totally why I was wondering, haha. I was hoping you'd still get to 36 weeks. I think they stop considering them preemies at that point or something? I don't know. My OB's nurse kept making a big deal out of 36 weeks last time like something magical would happen.

DD was born at 36+6 And was considered premie and had to pass all the extra premie tests before being discharged. 37w is the magical to term time. As if that one day makes them suddenly different.

misskilljoy, I think 36 weeks is “near term” so you’re probably right about not being premies anymore. AnnPerkins, I’m sorry about your numbers, but it is exciting to know the baby will be here so soon! I’m hoping for an induction date of the 26th or 27th. I’ll be 39 weeks on the 28th.

Most of the time 36 weeks is when they 99% no longer require a NICU stay. Under 35 is a definite trip to the NICU, 35-36 is case by case, 36 is almost never, and 37 is "early term". Of course, it is dependent on nothing else being wrong, but this is typical.
This is why we are all fingers crossing and doing whatever we can to get me to 36 weeks and why most doctors make a big deal out of 36 weeks.

Wow you ladies have been talkative today. I had to take DD to the doctor, she has a pretty nasty ear infection. I really would like all the sickness out of my house before baby gets here.

Everyone still sick. Pedi is sure it is a virus. DS1 hasn’t thrown up since 9am, so that is good. DS2 still has no voice. Everyone still running fevers, cranky, and overly sensitive. My throat is starting to feel scratchy and I’m just feeling icky. H is home, so I’m going to nap and pretend this is where to start with ransoms when I wake...you ladies have been busy!

The hospital I am supposed to deliver at only delivers 36 weeks along or more. If you are before that, you have to go to the "bigger" hospital down the road. I think they have a small NICU but it isn't considered a full fledged one. I delivered at 41 weeks last time so it wasn't an issue.

This date also puts a damper on my annual (as of last year) chalkboard countdown to Halloween.
DH thinks I should just do a spooky countdown to the baby so I don't have to worry about it after she is born. But what if she comes earlier for some reason? Then I just have a spooky countdown to a random day in October.
I thought maybe I could do them all ahead of time and post the pictures on the day of. Though, that would mean an overlap in adorable baby pics and art and, because of my AW tendencies, I wouldn't want one or the other to get slighted.
