Have we done a thread on this yet? What are you packing in your hospital bag? I'm getting mine together soon because this baby feels like it is about to fall out, and with the low placenta I want to be ready to get to the hospital ASAP.

I'm known to over pack so I'm keeping it simple this time around.
For Me: Pillow Comfortable clothes to go home in Socks Chargers Snacks Make up Toiletries Camera
For Baby: Coming home outfit Blanket Pacis
I will take all the diapers, formula, mesh undies, pads, dermaplast, peribottle, etc that they give you home from the hospital.
I'm sure I'm forgetting things so I'll be watching the thread

Me: BLACK sweatpants Comfy underwear and bras Extra pads Pillow Loose shirts Socks Slippers Travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap, face wash, toothpaste, loofa Spare, unopened toothbrush Make-up Chapstick Phone charger Phone Wallet
Baby: A few onesies and sleepers (They gave me a little bit if shit last time because we didn't bring any. But when your water breaks at 33wks, they aren't the first thing on your mind. And all the ones we had were way too big.) Carseat Cozy blanket The hospital covers formula, pacifiers, diapers, wipes, and swaddles.

My list is a lot like AnnPerkins. Along with wallet, make sure you have health cards/ID and change for vending machine. The other things I want are: Makeup wipes - used them for my face but also to help feel clean during labor (my induction took over 30 hours) Shower flip flops if you're germaphobic like me Heat pad - helped when the epidural didn't reach one spot I will keep thinking about this as I'm packing up. But I second the BLACK sweats and that they should be old. And +1 to taking the ice packs and mesh undies from the hospital.

I tend to overpack so made an effort to not with dd and ended up with the perfect amount of things. bazi,Thank you for the csection support reminder. I'll take mine that they gave me for dd just in case. Also, plus eleventy to stretchy black pants and/or gowns for this csection mama. I also, take all that I can from the hospital when leaving. Diapers, wipes, mesh panties, pads, etc. I mean we are paying for them right?

DH has started panicking now that we have a CS date. I will be following this closely. I will also take suggestions for all CS specific needs. I want to be prepared as possible since I get the benefit of knowing going in.

Ha ha this was my favorite topic that people would post and run about on the dump. We trolled them so hard.
Anyway, I'm a minimalist and we live 10 minute away from the hospital.
Chapstick Toothbrush/toothpaste Glasses case Glasses wipes Face wipes Soft tissues Phone charger/phone Wallet I wore the clothes I arrived in, home and stayed in the hospital gown the whole time. Unless my water breaks and is leaking heavily I'll probably do something similar this time.
Coming home outfit Carseat (leave in the car until we are actually leaving the hospital)
The hospital provided everything else we needed and my labor wasn't long with ds so I didn't use anything I brought. We took home every supply lol. Once it's in your room, they can't reuse it.

There are a bunch of belt/girdle type things that help you get your ab muscles back to where they were pre-pregnancy. I am a big fan of Bellefit. I tried a cheaper one and it was crap, so to me it's worth the $$.

+ whatever to the Chapstick suggestion Phone charger Toiletries A couple sizes of outfits for babies Flip flops (cheap, bigger than usual since my feet will be swollen) Coming home outfit for me (or wear what I wore going in. I usually stay in the hospital gowns because of fluids.) Car seats in the car Boppy (didn't bring first two times, but with twins I'll probably want the extra support) Extra empty bag to load up with diapers, wipes, etc from hospital instead of trying to smush it all in.
I need to go buy multiples of things that I currently use to keep in there. My previous two pregnancies I was rushing around trying to find everything since I went early.

I always laugh when I think about hospital bags. I didn't pack one last time because I figured I had plenty of time. We went to the hospital with my glasses, the ipad, and a phone charger. That's it. I really thought I would be going back home. Hey dummy - your water broke, you aren't going back home. Luckily, my mom went out and bought me some things the next day and we live minutes from the hospital so H was able to run home and get the rest. I am living proof that you don't need much.
This time I plan to pack: a pillow several pairs of loose, comfy pants several nursing tanks and a couple of zip-up hoodies big undies and a nursing bra or two Maybe a robe make up and travel toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc.) blow dryer and straightener phone charger glasses/contact supplies Purse which covers wallet, chapstick, etc.
For baby: two or three sleepers and onesies coming home outfit car seat
I plan on sending H home at night to do bedtime and sleep with DS1 so he can always bring things back as needed. I wore my flip flops there and will do the same again. I hate socks and slippers so I will be barefoot most of the time anyway.

Im kind of just doing it from memory, and the only thing I missed last time was moisturiser.
I'm packing 2 bags, 1 normal stay bag (3 days worth) and then "just in case bag" (like 5 days worth of things)
A couple things will be packed while in labour (chargers and some toiletries things)
---List---
Hospital bag!
First bag: Baby girl -
Nappy bag - Nappies Cotton wool Wet wipes Nappy bags
Ready feed bottles 4 outfits and vests Vests Mittens Socks Muslin cloths
Mummy - Maternity pads x3 Maternity pants x8 Underwear x4 Nightie x2 PJ's x2 (shorts) Nipple pads Tank tops Feeding bra iPad & charger Phone charger Purse Maternity notes Leggings Jumper Bra
Toiletries - Moisturiser Shampoo Hair brush Deodorant Perfume Shaver Towel Hair bands
Second bag: (haven't written anything for) Baby girl -
Mummy -
------
Need to pack in the next 2 weeks or so, I have all of DD's clothes ready, and ready to be packed, just nothing of mine lol. That's why I'm putting off my clothes as last as possible as I'll be wearing my maternity clothes stuff after birth and I'm Obviously wearing it now lol

bethers, do you have a brand of makeup wipes you recommend? I tried the Neutrogena ones in the blue package once and they gave me a rash (and I am not a rashy person!) And thanks for the flip flop reminder, I'm keeping an old pair just for this purpose!

AnnPerkins that's fucked that they gave you shit for not having onesies for the baby. What's strange is at the hospital I give birth at, they prefer for the baby to wear the shirt they provide so it's easier for them to check vitals, umbilical cord, and circumcision. We couldn't put the baby in our own clothes for him until we were cleared to go home.

I really like the Target brand - the blue ones (I don't like the ones with exfoliation, especially for this purpose). But I seriously stockpile the Target ones because I prefer them.

You all touched on most of it - the only thing I will add is an extension cord because the outlets all seemed majorly inconvenient.

I brought a washcloth and towel (cheap from Walmart and I just left it there) last time because I used to work in a hospital and couldn't bear to think of using theirs 😖. Irrational, I know lol. I'm also bringing my own clothes because I didn't like the hospital gown. So robe, sweats, undies, nursing tanks (in leiu of bras), socks, slippers, flip flops for shower. The makeup remover wipes are a good idea! For baby: a few sleepers and sleep sacks, one nice going home outfit.
I didnt attempt to breastfeed after my first two births, so this seems like a good place to ask. Do you bring your breast pump to the hospital with you??

icedcoffee, ooo good call. I made H bring me back my own towels last time - the ones from the hospital were so hard and I hated them.

I way overpacked last time. Here is my tentative list.
Bag of toiletries including shampoo and conditioner just in case, makeup remover, micellar water wipes
Comb, hair ties, bobby pins
Yoga pants, nursing tank ×2, underwear JIC but I will probably wear the hospital ones
Going home outfit for baby and maybe one or two extras, though I think our hospital provides. My sister's hospital provided a full outfit! Onesie, pants, matching hat. But that is rare.
Maybe a swaddle blanket
Bucket car seat
We live fairly close to the hospital (25 minutes even in traffic) so things for H and DD will be easy to get if necessary. He will be able to go home and shower, etc.
