Bag is packed except for phone charger, glasses lens wipes, and baby outfits. I just keep forgetting to put in the baby outfits and lens wipes.

I have been nagging DH to pack... so he started tossing things on top of the bag. LOL. It did make me realize that we may need a bigger bag!!

My H has been telling me I should pack a bag. Hes going out of town this weekend so naturally I think if I pack a bag then I'll go into labor while he's gone. I'll just sit over here in crazy/paranoid land by myself.

I have most of my bag packed too! I have a small list of the things I’ll need to grab last minute (phone charger, etc.) in case I’m feeling crazy while I’m labor or even if DH needs to pack it for me.
I also bought a huge bag of candy to give to the labor/delivery staff as a thank you. Just need to get a small card to go with it.

I don't have a bag guys, that's how bad it is. Not like I haven't packed one, like I physically don't have a bag. I don't really want to use a suitcase. This is ridiculous, I know.
I should probably go buy one.

Lol roloma, you could just use a reusable grocery tote bags... why not? Mine is mostly packed too now. I just need a few more toiletries and last minute things (phone charger, glasses). I have packed pretty minimally (quite proud about that!)

I have packed pretty minimally (quite proud about that!) This is super funny to me because we have been having an "issue" around my house lately. Since I have been dealing with GD, I have been bringing my snacks and lunch in a plastic grocery bag every day. It drives my H absolutely insane. He bitches every single day about how I should just be using an actual lunch bag and I look homeless, etc. I can only imagine his face if I tried to pack all of my shit in a reusable grocery bag. I know it is a step up from plastic but he would still probably die.

I really need to get moving on this. I thought I get to it this weekend, but, nope. I have a bag of toiletries (minus toothbrush) and one set of pajamas ready. Two other pajama sets, nursing tanks, and new leggings are waiting to be washed. I think I’ll get a robe ordered today. Oh! And I picked up some cheap slippers I can chuck at the hospital. I was also thinking I’d pick up some cheap/obnoxious print pillowcases so we can chuck pillows too. Hospital germs freak me out, so if I can minimize what comes home and needs to be washed immediately , I’d figure that would help.

roloma, my DH is totally the same, but I'm super cheap so would probably not go out and spend $20 on a bag if I didn't have one already. I guess maybe I'd use a reusable lulu lemon bag, that's better, right? fancy, I agree, I don't want to take too much stuff that'll get "dirty", even though I know it's probably not really a problem. I did bring a small zip up bag to put dirty laundry into though so it can all go straight to the wash

I think tomorrow I'll go and buy all the little things I need and actually pack a bag. Then I realized I should write out some basic instructions for whoever ends up with my kids regarding my son's school (mostly just his bus times or when they can pick up/drop him off st). I need to email the school and give them a short term list of people who can pick him up without my prior notice. Plus side is I'm delivering locally so depending on our field work and what's done, my husband probably will come home for nights anyways with the kids and be there when they wake up. I'm also not planning on being in the hospital very long. Again- depending on what goes according to pla. Lol

Pregnant chicken posted this on their FB and I thought it might be helpful! Some things I vote are unnecessary. The hospital will have plenty of diapers and wipes, and pads, etc.

thatgolfb, that's a good list. Thanks! Some things on there I was definitely missing. Re: diapers and wipes, you may want to check with the hospital or people you know have delivered there. Hospitals here don't provide diapers for most patients... womp womp. So I have to pack so many!

I'm bringing my own wipes this time. I hate the water wipes at the hospital.

Ours with DS did not have real wipes - just glorified paper towels- we were actually warned about it on the hospital tour. We brought our own because those first meconium poops are no joke!

That's what ours had, dry wipes that you had the wet yourself. They were awful and DD ended up with diaper rash from them. I'm bringing the Seventh Generation sensitive wipes full sized sample I got in my target baby box. I'll throw a pack of pampers sensitive in there too just in case.

My hospital provides the wipes, diapers, pads etc. Some people said they didn't but I phoned and they said they still do.
That list was pretty extreme. I think it also depends on how long you plan on being there before/after. I'm also not pillow fussy so I'm not bringing my own. Just more things to carry.
So far I've packed toiletries: shampoo/conditione toothbrush, hair ties, headband, nipple cream, and some soothers.
I have the baby going home outfit. Yoga pants for myself.

I do want my own pillow. I hated the hospital ones last time. I also need to scrounge up a boppy. We have two, they have to be somewhere.
My hospital provided free BF supplies; shields, cream, those little milk catcher things. I'll get stuff from them for breastfeeding.

It's been passed around all my sister so much and now one says they have it. I refuse to buy a new one. I hope it shows up somewhere.

Yeah not bringing my own pillow, either. That list probably won't change what I bring, lol. I cleared out the bag I am going to bring! A nice sized Vera Bradley bag my mom got me.

You all touched on most of it - the only thing I will add is an extension cord because the outlets all seemed majorly inconvenient. I bought 10ft chargers with J. Best purchase ever.

Things I've used:
Phone charger, chapstick, face wipes, toothbrush/toothpaste, hairbrush, tissues, snacks, glasses lens wipes, socks, Kindle (mainly because it was taking FOREVER).
Swaddle blankets from home (bigger and good for skin to skin IMO). He will go in his going home outfit tomorrow (sunday).
I packed a lot of extra clothes for myself that I didn't use. Breastfeeding was super important for me this time around and I pretty much have had my boobs out this whole time. No shame in my game. I'll put on real clothes tomorrow (sunday).

I bought a bag, and packed it. So I am way ahead of where I was when DS1 was born. Only things missing are my every day use items.
Please stay at least two more days baby. I need to do some things at work. Don't take this bag as a sign that you are welcome outside quite yet.
