I just found my hospital bag packing list from DD - I wish that I had updated it with what H had to supplement with while we were there. I know we needed an extra bag for all the extra stuff we took home so I'll be sure to pack that

icedcoffee, I wouldn't recommend bringing your pump unless you know you are going to exclusively pump. Typically they say you should establish your nursing relationship before starting to pump to avoid overproduction. If you have issues or need help with pumping the hospital should have a pump available.

I'll pack mine in the next couple of weeks given how early I went last time.
Chargers and extension cord comfy PP clothes (PJ pants, nursing bras, nursing tanks) A bit of makeup and chap stick My robe (best thing I brought last time, hands down) Pump Boppy Pillow Toiletries Outfit for baby Wipes (because the dry wipes provided suck and gave DD wicked diaper rash) I might bring my own giant straw water bottle.
I super over packed last time because we were an hour's drive. Now we're 20 minutes away and I intend to pack lighter.
For those asking for c-section specific needs, high waisted yoga pants. Most waist lines wil hit you around your incision. Soft pants that go over it are helpful. And ask your hospital for a binder. I was given one, even though it wasn't my preferred one versus ones I bought, but still, they will have a free one for you if you ask.

If you have issues or need help with pumping the hospital should have a pump available. I brought mine intending just to have the nurses/LC's show me how to use and clean it properly. Then DD had blood sugar issues and I was encouraged to start pumping immediately. Pumped from day one and I had supply issues in that I never managed to gain enough supply to exclusively feed my kid BM, nursing or pumping.

Man, you broke out early snuff9861! We were there six freaking days from showing up gushing fluids to leaving with a baby. It was seriously way too long.

My bag will have most of what's been listed but I would add bringing your own towel- the hospital ones are TINY and a boppy if you plan to breastfeed.
I had clothes but post csection I was more comfy in the gown and giant mesh undies.
Be careful about extension cords- a lot of hospitals won't let you use your own because of fire risk.

I would definitely agree with a robe. I wore the hospital gown right after delivery last time because it was easier with the IV fluids, bulky c-section dressing, etc. but it was nice to wear a robe over the gown for my first few hallway walks. And then it was easy to throw on over a nursing tank once I was wearing my own clothes again.

One thing I had last time was pillow/linen spray. It was a gift from my SIL for Christmas and I thought it would be nice to not have to smell the hospital laundry detergent smell. It was lavender scented, which I find relaxing. Not a must have by any means, but I liked it.

I can't remember what I all packed. Except I way overpacked both times.
The basics I'm sure. Nothing special. My sister brought me my nursing pillow...which I need to find. The one thing I did wish I brought was a soother. I know they say not to give it so early but the first real night was so bad and I really think it would have been nice. I'm really hoping to be there 24 hours or less so it won't be much.

Something else I am adding, those body cleansing wipes from Sephora. They smell nice and actually make me feel clean. I did not enjoy the first day post birth when I couldn't shower. So these are a good alternative.

AnnPerkins that's fucked that they gave you shit for not having onesies for the baby. What's strange is at the hospital I give birth at, they prefer for the baby to wear the shirt they provide so it's easier for them to check vitals, umbilical cord, and circumcision. We couldn't put the baby in our own clothes for him until we were cleared to go home. Same, they kept her in those belly shirts until we left. My nurses always say to take advantage of those shirt things and their blankets so it isn't more laundry for us to take home and do.

It is silly how much laundry we create.

Just thought of something else- they usually have nice ink pads for baby hand and foot prints at the hospital. So bring your baby book or anything else you want stamped and the nurses at the hospital can do it for you- they're really good at it know how to get the best prints.

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but think about getting together a present "from" new baby to older siblings along with your hospital bags. I made a bag full of stickers, play do, colors, flash cards, and some other stuff I'm forgetting for my 2 year old. It will be a present from her baby sister, but really it will function as an activity bag for when I'm nursing.

I didn't do it for ds1 when ds2 was born and they will be exactly the same age difference.

I've also read about having a basket of toys for the older child that only get brought out when you're nursing the new baby this way it's something just for them during that time.

I have a couple things I bought on Prime Day so I just need to pick something.

She's really excited to give the baby a present so I want the baby to have something for her.

Well I pulled out a bag to use. That's as far as I've gotten. I need to figure out what I actually want/need. I way overpacked last time but for the life of me I can't remember what I actually used.

I have a few little piles of things around the house but haven't even gotten a bag out. I overpacked last time but I was kind of expecting to be bored/in labour for at least a few hours, so... I will probably pack just as much stuff, heh. My issue is that a lot of it is "when you leave, bring ____" which I can't really pack! Things like phone charger, Kobo, etc. I should at least put some clothes and baby supplies in a bag, though.

I packed my bag last week. On top of it have have a list of everything inside and anything that needs to be added at the last minute (hairbrush, make-up, camera, etc.) This is the most prepared I've ever been.
