cagoldi I understand. I'm just really annoyed with people that have this attitude. I mean, you're invited to a party, you're getting free food. If you don't like it, eat something else at home. Complain to your H, or your friend, but never under what any circumstance complain about the food to the host, that's just rude. My SM will be the first one to make a big deal out of it, too. I seriously dread every single event now.

If a pizza place opens at 11, can they deliver at 11, or would it have to be later than that?

That menu actually gave me a good idea, @tallblonde.
I think I could do Gardein sliders and order some corn dogs from Vegan Pizza and people would be the none the wiser.
Maybe if I explain our situation they will move a little bit on their policy of what outside food they let us bring in.

I eye roll when people act like they can't survive a meal without meat. If I'm hosting a meatless occasion I'm not dictating that you can't eat any meat any other time of the day, I'm just not serving any for this one meal.

My family acts like me being a vegetarian is a personal attack on them.. And not like A and the kids. But the extended family. And I only bring it up and explain why when people ask, so they bring it on themselves. But then act like I go around slapping meat out of peoples mouths. It's dramatic.

lfig that sounds perfect! Sounds honestly more fun for everyone involved. Enjoy!! cagoldi I'd just go with the pizza or say no pizza and bring hummus and snacks. I just checked this fancy place that has a crazy menu: badlandsplayspace.com/badlands-birthdays/ I was not surprised to see GF and vegan options.. Oooooh. I want to go to this place! I know, it seems cool. I may do a test run this weekend to see what it's like. I'm wondering about maybe just having a few good buddies and we go together as a playdate and that be the party. I've heard of you can invite the number of kids the age you are turning, so that'd be 4 friends.. boom $100, done.

peachsmama when I first told my dad we were going to start eating differently he asked why. I said I love animals and I don't want to eat them. Immediately he and my SM got defensive and were like, "we love animals!" LOL OK

Party at Chuck E. Cheese booked. Done and done. Now I don't have to think about it until I order the cake a few days before. klong11 can you pm me your address? We'll mail you an invitation. But not for like another month. Lol. It will be on 10/28.

Guys. If Millie's party is 10/28 should I send invitations home on 10/6 or 10/13?

I just realized it’s a month and a half away and 😱 I need to get my shit together and make a final decision on a party place so I can work on invites.

I reserved the community room for H’s party. They are open from 1-5, but that includes set up/tear down. I want to avoid starting during S’s naptime. Do you think 3-4:30ish is too short? There aren’t any real organized activities but they do have a game room and open gym.

trtlcrzy Might be a little on the short side, could someone else stay with S and bring her to the party? If not I'd say go for it, I love my kid's birthday, without all the people coming that is 😉.

I think 1.5 hours is a bit short. I'd do minimum 2 hours.

I dunno - the parties at the play places around here are 1.5 hours. 1 hour to play, 30 minutes for pizza and ice crean

I’m really conflicted and kind of struggling (#FWP) with the birthday thing.
B has been talking about a party for awhile and I’d love to have one, but we just don’t have a big network here yet.
His preschool class is 10 kids and Im not sure that we’d get a great turnout, esp since it’s early in the year. B is apparently one of —if not THE—oldest in his class so I haven’t seen any other birthday invites or how ppl handle it here.
We have a field trip coming up (I think basically every mom is attending) so maybe I can talk to a couple other moms and get some insight.
Blerg.

Since we are doing the same party as last year it's pretty much the same group of people except we are asking one family instead of the no show family from last year. No one from his class this year but probably next year.
