I know you're planning a bounce house now joelies. What are the rest of you doing for parties? Last year we didn't do one with friends - just family and my bff's family (she has 5 kids so that's a built in party lol) But since we just moved and he's at a new school I want to invite his class so I can meet some of the kids and their parents. I was planning on doing something at our house, but a bunch of kids running around my brand new everything will stress me out. So now I'm deciding between booking a bounce house type place or just setting up at a park in the neighborhood.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'm doing another family and friends of the family party again. As of now, it's lemonade (not Beyoncé lemonade) themed. SweetPotato, could you do it outside in your yard and hire a magician or rent bounce houses there?

I just decided to do a friend party for Millie at Chuck E. Cheese. It's her last bday at this current school so decided to just do it. I haven't booked it yet but I'm leaning towards the Saturday before Halloween. klong11 tell Cadence to mark her calendar!

We are doing a family party and then a seperate friend playdate. I think for the playdate we'll just do our house with snacks, pizza, and beer/wine for adults. We'll probably keep it pretty simple, no gifts.

We were going to do an indoor playground but I just priced out some of them for a private party and they range between $600-$1000 dollars. 😧 N is very timid so private would be the only way I would do it or he wouldn't enjoy it.

We are doing a paint party at a little art studio. I'm inviting our core group of school friends and one or two kids from her current class. She is refusing to invite any of the "babies" in her class. Millie is of course invited too melaniesue! She wants to have an Elsa cake, but then the other day she said My Little Pony. I'm just going to buy rainbow cupcakes and those cupcake toothpicks with whichever character she decides on.

Since the indoor playground is out for this year I'm now looking into either a swimming party at a recreation centre or a gymnastics centre.

This will be our first party for M. I'm either doing chuck e cheese or snip it's.
If it's at snip it's I doubt any of the boys will come though, but M would love it. They get their hair & makeup down & get to put on princess dresses.

Undecided. If we do one it will likely be at the Y where they have a bounce house and obstacle course. We are having a family party after the road race we do annually.

H has requested Chuck E. Cheese, swimming and bounce houses for her party. That all isn't going to happen and we haven't decided for sure what we want to do. That snip it place sound right up H's alley tgrimes.

We are doing a family party at our house and then a seperate friend party. The friend party will be super laid back, more of a playdate. Snacks, pizza, booze for the adults, decorations, maybe a craft, no gifts.

I want to do something along the lines of a bounce party for T. Problem is there are 25 kids in his class (not all at once, some come as little as 2 half days, up to full time like him.) He only mentions our neighbor who he knew since birth by name and refers to all the other kids as "all those other people." Just between my sisters and I, there are 10 kids so it's not realistic to invite all 25 from school plus 10 cousins but how do I chose?. I'm going to be way to pregnant to want something at my house though. I always feel bad that we did nothing for his 1st birthday because we were living with my sister, MIL died the week before, and we were passing a stomach bug around and I had it on his birthday.

I'm trying to have it at the fire house. If I can't then it'll be at a firehouse museum. But there's a 30 person limit. Our trimmed list is 45.. so I'm really hoping one of the 3 fire stations around me will let me host it there.

E has proclaimed without prompting that he is having 3 parties: paw patrol, batman, and superman. I might try and combine themes. I think we are alternating friend parties on even years and family on odd years. I haven't committed to E on doing a friend party this year but I've been planning in my head. Some will depend on when MH is scheduled to return.
If I do a friend party it will be bounce house and easy food. I did crockpot Italian beef sandwiches at the last party that went over well. I'm sure if I plan an outside party it will be freezing, raining, or snowing instead of the 70 it has been every other year

I want to keep the friend party simple because so many a-holes don't RSVP. I'm hoping both the girls have 1-2 friends from their class identified and I'm just going to try to directly contact the parents and see about meeting up at either the trampoline place, Chuck E Cheese, or one of the farms that has all sorts of activities. The week of Maddie's birthday she has 1/2 day of school so we'll probably do it a weekday afternoon and hopefully the venue won't be busy.
For the family party the only weekend I have available is before Halloween. I think I'm not asking them and just doing a monster theme since they both love to be scared and decorations will be available in abundance. The cousins can wear their Halloween costumes.

I'm toying at doing it at one of those kid gym places. I'd love to just have everyone over in our backyard and run around and have pizza. There's a local company that sets up giant obstacle courses that we've seen at some local fairs that he LOVES. But New Jersey in November... could be 50s and beautiful, or there could be a foot of snow on the ground.
So this will be his first "class" party.
His birthday is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We may do it on his birthday, or the weekend before.

jewels M's is the Monday after Thanksgiving. I guess I'll check with some of the moms to see if they'll be in town that weekend. I don't mind doing it before or afterwards but my sister might be in town so I'd like her to be there.

How early do you send invites? If we did one it would be 10/21 so would you send them 10/1?

Colin just got an invite last week for a mid-October party. The whole class was invited and the Mom likely just wanted to get the date out ASAP since there are probably half a dozen birthdays from mid-October through late November.

I think we're just going to do something at the park.
Whatever theme he settles on and throw in a piñata, food, decorations, call it a day. Last year was his big party, I'm not going all out for all the kids every year.

Again, Team Procrastinator here...I haven't even thought of her birthday party yet. I'm sure we'll just do immediate family get together again. Since she doesn't go to an actual DC center, she doesn't have 'friends.'

I didn't want to do a party since we're doing Disney for B's bday, complete w princess dinner. But now she keeps asking and mh is all "cmonnn, she wants a party." So I'm looking at a combined party for B and C since they're both November bdays. I'm looking at skyzone.

inthekitty- I was at a bday party this wknd and the mom was complaining how out of 20 invites, she didn't hear from 12 of them! She was irritated that now ppl just don't bother rsvp-ing at all if they don't plan on coming. I think on B's invite I will specify to rsvp whether coming or not!

I'll be putting on her invites to RSVP by a certain date so I can give the studio an accurate number of painters.

Since she doesn't go to an actual DC center, she doesn't have 'friends.' At this point I don't plan to invite anyone from H's school. Between cousins and family friends there are usually quite a few kids at the party. I don't think I'll start friend only parties until K.
