what's up Monday?
My nutrition scores have been lower which is just fine by me. I am really excited that I have been so healthy for breakfast and lunch. All my lost points are on supper and that is just fine with me. That is kind of a shift in thinking for me. Making sure 2/3 of the day is healthy and being forgiving with the rest. That is definitely an improvement and something I don't feel dread at doing long term.

One thing I love about the WLC is that I notice myself eating more fruits and veggies as subs for bread and pasta.

My food is doing ok (I'm struggling a bit this afternoon because I'm pissed at my SIL and like 20 other people right now and am so buried in work that it's going to be a nightmare when I go on vacation next week. I may not come back. Like 75% kidding. Maybe 60%.).
I had good plans for the week, so I'm hoping I can follow through on them. Tonight is shot thanks to SIL.

Today was better! Thanks. I think I need to take a break from all my macro tracking and just try to not over eat and get good foods. I just seem to get burnt out so fast on it now. And it gets hard when making anything combined. The chili I am making tomorrow- how on Earth would I track that? How many servings? LOL. No idea.

Hi everyone! I've been away this week on vacation. Before I left I'd lost 6lbs since the start of the challenge. I'm hoping when I get back I'll have maintained that. I haven't recorded yesterday's score yet, but it was not a stellar day for nutrition. But I still think I've been healthier than I usually would be when away. We're at my parents' house in OBX celebrating my dad's 65th, so we have a kitchen, AND my sister is also doing the challenge. Plus, her son has a gluten free diet, so that definitely helps.

What are everybody's "jams" for this week? I decided to go with Whitney Houston's "Dance with Somebody." It always makes me smile, plus it's one of DD's favorites so I know I can have a little dance party with her to it.

I am going day by day with what sounds good for me. I actually can't remember what song came on during my last squat set today, but it was one I liked and that set went really well, so I will count it. Though apparently I squatted away my short term memory.

I had planned on going with sometihng different each day but so far it has just been Sound Of Sunshine - Michael Franti. It really is just a happy song for me! Thanksgiving is over and I had a hell of a weekend, so I' d like to get back on track this week The nice thing is I won't really have to prep any food if I can just make turkey/veggie bowls up.

We leave for vacation, so there will be very little trying on my end with nutrition. We have a few places we want to go to and I will at least attempt to make somewhat decent side dish choices.

I've been really enjoying treating myself to lunch at the Wegman's hot bar when I go grocery shopping. They have a great assortment of kickstarter-compliant options. It's nice to have an easy place to eat out of the house to keep myself from going stir-crazy as a SAHM.

I'm so excited I have some Chicken Tikka Masala in the slow cooker today! Major win because I have a shift at the canteen for DS' hockey that I have to do and it would've been way easier to grab fast food between work and that.

I am exceptionally skilled at avoiding meditation for any variety of reasons. I have done it, and enjoyed it, but only after much much procrastination. Why do i do that to myself?

Also, I have a really hard time with— I’m not sure of the term, basically but “non-active” meditation, where you sit in silence and meditate. Instead, I’ve been either doing a walking meditation— walk by myself in the park, with no headphones, clearing my head, or I do a gentle, meditative yoga session, which I enjoy. There’s actually a studio near me that does a pay what you wish candle lit yoga is the evenings that’s really nice if I’m able to get to it.

I was traveling a ton the past two weeks, which definitely derailed me, but I am back home and trying to get back on track. I have two races coming up too— a 5 mi on 10/29 and a 5K on 11/4, so I have that motivator.

I haven't been doing the meditation. I probably should do it, but I have never cared for it.

Next week's lifestyle challenge:
Do Nothing Each Day This Week
Simple Instructions: For 10 minutes, sit, lie, or stand and do nothing. Do not check your phone. Don’t read. Don’t even try to meditate. Just be there, and if any feelings come up — discomfort, restlessness, or even guilt or silliness that you’re not doing anything — just acknowledge them without needing to do anything about them, and let them pass.
I feel like this seems so easy but will be so difficult.

oh god haha that does sound awful to me. I guess challenges are supposed to be hard right?
I'm getting frustrated with my plateau. I have seemingly gained weight since the beginning of the challenge. Not the most exciting news.

I have fallen off the WLC and WW wagon. I'm still exercising, stretching (but to be honest, I'm phoning it in), drinking water, etc. but my nutrition is so bad. I'm talking about giant pieces of cake, enormous amounts of salami and cheese bad. Don't even get me started on the alcohol. I need to be put into a nutritional time-out. I do think I've pinpointed my downfall- I need to have preplanned and prepacked breakfast options. I find I need something protein rich in the first thing and something like oatmeal in the mid morning. I'm going to buy a container of oats and frozen fruit to keep at work. I'm going to start researching easy to make breakfasts that I can make on the weekend. I'm hoping that will help me get back on track.

Roscoe sorry you’ve gotten off track but that’s ok too. I think keeping healthy things at work helpful too. What about overnight oats? I’ve been making those the night before and then it’s already ready in the morning and I’m less likely to back out of eating it.
