I feel so bad waking M up to take J to preschool. And it's usually twice each day, once to take him and then again when we have to go pick him up. Waking sleeping babies is against everything I stand for. That is the worst! Maybe her morning nap will push later. I'm really hoping E and A keep two naps forever because they sleep 915-11 in the mornings and R will be at preschool 9-1130. I can't wait to have that time with no kids two days each week.

At nearly 15 months, we're still solidly on 2 naps/day. I tried to cut it to one over a long weekend not too long ago and it was a shit show. Other than the fact that it makes getting out of the house tough, I still really enjoy the 2 naps.

You know what sucks about front facing your kid's car seat, besides the all encompassing parental guilt? Said kid can now see what you're snacking on in the front seat. Yes! We just turned L forward (she's almost four) I wanted to keep her rear a little longer, but being pregnant with serious sacrum pain issues it was just getting so difficult to get both kids in and out so we turned her and it's awesome because she can climb in while I buckle A and it's so much easier. But now she sees all my snacks and that part is so not awesome haha

I spent 4 hours and 150 dollars yesterday to hear that L might have eczema or maybe contact dermatitis on her elbows. I feel like that may have been a waste of time and money. But at least I know it's not some kind of weird infection.

My baker has been feeling off and on queasy recently and I'm suddenly nervous that she's pregnant. I obviously can't ask her, so instead I'm going to spend my spare time planning on what I'll need to do if she needs maternity leave in the spring. I might be a bit of an over planner.

O's room smells like something is dead in there. So far I have been unable to locate the source.

I really want to smack childless people who try to give you parenting advice that is completely inappropriate for your child's age. A college friend of mine who is child-free by choice is a lovely person, but has no idea about actual children's development or abilities and yet continues to try and give me advice about how to deal with the frustrations of parenting. Case in point: I complained on facebook today that I was exhausted because Nugget was up for 3 hours last night (and thus so was I), and she said, "at some point, you gotta be like, you need to stay in your room and let mom and dad sleep." I realize I'm preaching to the choir, but...

Dramaphile, A childless fb friend of mine recently posted about how freaking exhausted she was because she gets no sleep. (I fully admit I was this person 8 year ago, though)

(I fully admit I was this person 8 year ago, though) I roll my eyes at that for sure, but it doesn't bother me that much because I try not to play pity poker. But don't try to give me parenting advice unless you are a parent or a childcare professional or pediatrician and have actually useful things to say. And even then, eff off because I don't really want your advice, I just want to complain about how tired I am.

DH has a fever and diarrhea. Whose illness should I attribute this to? E's: Fever and vomiting for 24 hours O's: Strep throat C's: Hand, foot & mouth Or do we think this is his own personal illness? Also, I've had a headache all day. I'm going down too, aren't I?

I just walked to the store and bought myself a mini cake and it is fully my intention to eat it all. I got my IUD out today and am officially TTC again and I'm super excited to put all the new knowledge I've got to good use, while simultaneously being absolutely terrified.

Well M had the best day ever at preschool today! Since cutting my parents out of the equation and alternating work from home days so we can take him, he has made huge strides in getting used to the school environment. He's only been going two days a week for a couple of weeks now, so not that long, so he's still cried when we left and he hasn't quite made it a whole day yet (we made a plan for his teacher to call when she thought he was ready to go home, to end the day on a high note).
Well today I got no calls, I picked up at regular pickup time, and four different teachers said he had a great day! Not a single tear was shed, he participated, he made it through transitions, everything! The best!
And when I was strapping him into his seat he sighed and said "Oh Mom, it's so nice when we get to spend time together." LOL

chickypoo2468 was it you looking for a hack to make your basement stairs safer? This is climbing rope. Just have to screw some of those metal eye hook things into the banister.

Like discipline techniques, medications, screen time, etc. And always stuff about how we're ruining our kids. Um no lady. Just no.

Good news is if it's the same thing you will be bad for 24 hours, livable for 24 hours after that, and back to mostly normal after the 48 hour mark.

Look, a baby! Random thoughts: He's gained a pound. I'm not okay with how fast the tiny newborn stage is slipping through my fingers. I am however looking forward to the acne clearing up and some head control. We've had a pretty screamy afternoon, but none of it matters once he finally gives in and falls asleep in my arms. I'm soloing bedtime tonight and the three year old passed out on the couch just before dinner. It's so quiet right now, but I'm a little terrified of how the rest of the night will play out.

Am i the only one who sees a strangulation hazard in that rope stair thing? I feel like my kids would be overly tempted to try and climb through... I have been known to over worry about choking and strangling though.

I have been known to over worry about choking and strangling though. That was my thought. Actually I see more of a fall hazard. Those ropes have a natural give to them and while that spacing would probably be fine for an adult who has no interest in playing with the ropes, I'm not sure that I would use that for kids.

Yeah a kid could easily squeeze through that, even if it was very tight. Seems like a lot of work for something that is really only good in a pinch.

Holy f#ck, the printer in the basement (where I'm crafting, but in the other room) just randomly made noise that sounded like someone was in the house. I seriously grabbed some scissors and walked out the basement door and around the house to make sure no one was here. WTF, printer?! Don't do that sh!t!!
