There is a weekly winter playgroup hosted by the city that just started up for the season. It always takes everyone a little while to remember that it's going. So for the moment we have the whole place to ourselves. My town community center does this, it's called JUMP. It's so fun! Even though it doesn't snow here or anything....it does rain sometimes, I guess.

Last night I was driving with M, and I considered trying to explain the connection between: , , and . But then I thought, she's three, there's no way she'd understand. Ah well, maybe in a few years. When my BFF's 2 year old daughter was obsessed with Frozen a couple of years ago, I tried playing the Wicked soundtrack for her in hopes of getting her interested in something else, and she was not buying it.

My 16 month old sings let it go "agoooo" anytime she sees a photo of Elsa/Anna. This should be in the confessions thread.

Just a few minutes ago I realized that I was completely engrossed in Moana while M played with my phone.

Wtf MHs work? Why would you think a gift card for a movie theater was a good gift to give new parents. We haven't seen a movie in the theater since before J was born in 2014. That's a really random gift. They were probably thinking "date night"- which rarely ever happens when you have tiny children.

Do I have to go to parent-teacher conferences? Of course there are no times available that DH could attend and I also have nobody who can watch all of my kids while I go. I'm currently considering taking Grandpa with me and having him sit in the car with the children. I hate stuff like this,

I'm taking my kids. Mh will be oot and I'm not paying a sitter for this.
I mean, it's a kids classroom. Should be able to entertain my kids.

I’m back from my trip! Saw old, lifelong friends. Made new ones. Got drunk and danced until they kicked us out. Cried last night about coming back to real life. Dealt with DS taking a gigantic poop on the airplane and talking about it on volume 85. Looking forward to catching up on my shows and relaxing tonight.

People are pissing me off so much the last few days. I've never wanted an alcoholic beverage so badly.

On Friday we went to a friend's house and while we were there my friends son who is the same age as L suddenly came down with a fever. Today both my kids have fevers so I called my friend to see what I'm dealing with. It's hand foot and mouth

I'm on my second attempt at cornbread for the day. We always use the Bob's Red Mill mixes and I texted my mom because she doctors hers up a little bit and hers always tastes awesome. So, she very clearly told me what she does, and I misread her instructions and added a cup of coconut oil and a cup of butter. Instead of a quarter cup of each and a cup and a half of milk.
I just pulled it out of the oven. It's very moist. And has the texture of kinetic sand. By my rough calculations each piece is probably 1000 calories.
Luckily I had another bag so I whipped that up exactly as the instructions said and it's in the oven now. My common sense supply is very low.

And, my kid pooped on the potty today! All by himself! Unprompted! For the first time! We made a huuuge deal about it and he picked out a skid steer toy to celebrate so I'm hoping maybe this will happen again.

It looked good when I first pulled it out...Then I touched it. It tasted decent, but due to the amount of fat in it I pitched it.

I'm trying to figure out what all we need for winter gear for the girls. On most items we get two sets - for home and DC. But in my experience C's room doesn't go outside in the snow. So I was asking her teacher if I needed actual snow gear or just winter stuff and she was all, "we probably won't go in the snow, but if you have snow gear just bring it in." Yeah... I just randomly have some 2T snow gear from when I was in college...
(And yes, I do know that I have an older kid from whom I could have leftover gear, but I had this same conversation with M too).

We are at the time of year where the heater will kick on at night but the A/C runs in the afternoon. I told DH that was ridiculous and if we turned everything off it might be a few degrees cooler in the morning and a few degrees warmer in the evening than ideal but it would balance itself out and we could save on our electric bill. It was 67 this morning and he was flipping out that I was trying to freeze everyone to death. I explained to him that it was only 5 degrees cooler than what he sets the A/C at which he claims to be too hot. I grew up in a house that was up to 90 degrees in summer and down to 40 in winter unless you were standing in front of the fireplace in the living room. Put on a sweatshirt, you'll live.
